When my daughter phoned them last week they stated that there turn around from receiving reports was 3 weeks and they were now 5 weeks and was in the critical decision stage but didnt give any idea to further time span. Reading earlier posts I think it depends what part of the country you are how quickly your claim is processed
My daughter phoned again today and the gentleman who answered her call said he thought that it was taking longer than usual as the three week turn around was now nearly 6 weeks. She asked if he couldnt find out anymore information and he stated he only saw so much on his screen not on any decision. I have never been told I had a case manager when she asked today he told her he would get her to give her a call back but this would be with 5 working days so seems this will continue into a 7th week or longer pending a decision!

Well, I've just rung them again. Guess what? Still NO result. I was told to ring in a weeks time and then they would chase it up as they'd given them enough time to do it. Whatever that means. She said she couldn't see any reason 'on the screen' as to why it was taking so long. Although I'm not sure I trust 'their screens'.

    My f2f was 11th June...

Hi there everyone. Well my story begins with me returning from holiday last June and returned to work. Two days later I was struck with Encephalitis Herpes Simplex virus type 1 which is normally detected on the mortuary slab so I am a survivor. I was working full time up until this illness. I was in hospital for some time released and then admitted again.Adult Social services advised me to apply for PIP I did so in December 2013. I completed the appropriate paperwork and returned it accordingly. Then I waited but heard nothing. My daughter who deals with everything for me as I have been left with short term memory loss chronic headaches poor concentration and a weakness to my right hand side. I get confused easily so phone calls are a no no for me now a days. My daughter phoned DWP in March as we hadnt even received acknowledgement my forms had been received. They said they had received my form and I had to wait for an assessment with ATOS speculating that the time scale was 12 weeks the 12 weeks came and went nothing then told 16 weeks nothing next told 20 weeks then nothing after being told that it was then22 weeks my daughter wrote to our MP who miraculously emailed me two days later saying an appointment was in the post for the 24th June 2014, I went for the assessment which absolutely exhausted me lots of questions to answer and my brain cant cope too well with this now as part of it is damaged due to the virus. The Dr told me she would submit the report and I should have a decision with in the next couple of weeks, I had a letter on the 9th July to say DWP had received all relevant paperwork and would be in contact hadnt heard anything so today my daughter phoned DWP asking for an update on my claim. She was told the report had been received on the 26th June 2014 and this should have been dealt with within three weeks but nothing had been decided yet and now they were running two weeks over the allocated time the person it was in the critical stages now as they had went over the time allocated but gave no further information as to when the claim would be dealt with. I feel let down once again with the system.Yesterday I have received an appointment for Physio after 13mnths being discharged from hospital and I fear I wont be able to attend this as I dont have the money to pay out for a taxi and my family all work in the daytime, I am now reaching the end of my wits. Like everyone else on this forum I didnt ask to be ill and left with a condition. I wish for nothing more than to get up one morning and say I am off to work. I am totally devastated my employer medically retired me in March it broke my heart and I felt another part of me had been robbed as well as part of my brain. I dont know if this is helpful to others or have other people had a similar experience
    UPDATE
After my daughter phoning the on Monday being told that the decision had taken longer than was stated being nearly 6 weeks instead of the proposed three weeks. My Case manager phoned her yesterday saying he couldnt say too much as he wasnt discussing it with me but the result was positive. Today I heard off my Local MP telling me the result of my claim I was awarded Daily Living Enhanced rate and also Mobility Enhanced and this would be backdated from the start of my claim 4th December 2013 and would be in my bank by the 11th August this has been awarded till June 2020. At last my wait is over and I can now look forward to having the support I need to make my life a bit more liveable. So to all those people out there still waiting please take from me I know its stressful and at times you feel like giving up but please dont because its worth hanging in there for. Good luck to everyone and for anyone waiting a while please contact your local MP they have the ability to get things done after all it is a government department .

Well here's the latest instalment! I recieved a very abrupt letter from Capita basically saying that they stand by their assessor (they would) and none of the points I raised were relevant as it's the effect on my daily life not the condition they're interested in. I have replied that the DWP disagree with a lot of what has been said in this letter and also why did they never contact my consultant. I pointed out that it was ignored what I said about my PTSD but I've read the descriptors for HCP's and I think they're suggesting that I'm over-exaggerating which I'm not too amused with! I don't know what was said on the report from my GP either. However I have told them that DWP have permitted the MR on the grounds of a fictional report which I don't think they'll like but DWP aren't best amused with them in my case I gather..

MR letter received. Still refused. They've ignored everything I've told and sent them. Emergency appointment with GP this afternoon as my mood now plummeted and my partner is worried about me :( don't think I'm going to appeal- they've clearly made their mind up that there's nothing wrong with me so I don't think it's going to get any further. Now I'm just waiting for the letter withdrawing my ESA..
