Mine came through last Monday. My condition has been pretty bad for the past week so not able to post sooner.
My MP must have made a difference, I received an email from them last week with an attached reply they'd got from DWP. They say they're trying to amend the IT system so that automatic award letters with a payment date aren't sent out.
The DWP email also suggested that the task request to the manager hadn't gone through (another IT glitch?) and that they were sorry I hadn't got the call backs. Usually the request to release the money is done straight away so yours may be nice and quick.
I too found this forum helpful. To those that started the thread and the others that have added to it, thank you, it made such a difference to know I wasn't alone. In the last week I've realised how much my PIP claim had taken over my life, I'm hoping that now I can leave it all behind and concentrate on improving my condition. I know I'm likely to live with it in one form or another, but maybe, with less stress I can move forward rather than backward.
My award is to November 2015, I really hope the renewals procedure is more straight forward!
Thanks Susie - the money actually arrived in my account this morning - exactly as stated on the award letter! After what you went through I expected to have to wait too so another lovely surprise from DWP! My award is til July 2018 and they've said they'll write to me July 2017 regarding renewal!
Hope you're feeling better now and can start to get back to some sort of normalcy. I agree that this claim has taken over my life and, to be honest, it will seem strange not having to keep ringing DWP and worrying - but I'm sure I'll get past that!
This forum has been a Godsend to me - just knowing I wasn't alone with this horrendous system and getting help and advise from others that have been and are still going through it. I'm so pleased that I don't have to worry about PIP again for another 3-4 years.
Good luck Susie and everyone else. xx0 -
Argh my nightmare begins my hard copy was sent back to assessor for advice nobody seems to know who has it apparently ill get a call back within 5 working days I ain't holding my breath0

Am in complete shock, rang the PIP office yesterday and have been told I was awarded Standard Care and Higher Mobility! After a year and two days my wait is finally over! The decision was made on Tuesday but must have been after I rang them on Tuesday morning! Can't believe it yet but can't stop smiling! The wait for my back dated payment starts now! As it will be over £5k I have to wait for a manager to sign it off but hope it'll be quick!
Note for others in the Newcastle / Sunderland area: only 4 weeks since my f2f and 2 weeks since my file has been with the DM - your wait could be nearly over too!
Thanks to everyone on here for your help, support and advice - with one or two exceptions everyone on this forum is fantastic.
this is excellent news
am so pleased for you
you can now try to get back to normal life xx0 -
Hi all,
Just thought I would ask if anyone has any ideas on how long the case manager takes on average to make a decision?
The background on my claim is that I applied on 6th January 2014 after advice from my GP having suffering general anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, asthma, reflux and newly diagnosed advanced osteoarthritis in both knees. I am also severely hearing impaired.
I received the form a week later, and provided the information required with additional supporting evidence from GP, CPN and MRI results.
I had my ATOS assessment at home on 11th June. The HCP stated that she didn't know why she had to assess me, as they had more than enough information to decide on paper alone. However it gave her the opportunity to see things as they are.
I am unsteady on my feet, so have crutches, a walking frame and am waiting for a wheelchair. I have been provided with a raised toilet seat, grab rails in bathroom and around the home, extra bannister rails, a shower seat, heightened chair, commode and am cared for by one friend, who literally does everything for me.
My medication is managed for me after suicide attempts and the knowledge that given the chance I would try again. I need to do physio up to 8 times a day to build up leg muscle and prevent knees locking and reduce the need for my knee braces.
My assessment report was received by DWP electronically on 12th June, and on paper on 13th June.
I was told 3 weeks for a decision, then 4. Then if nothing by 11th July they would chase it up. Asked this morning what is going on and was told maybe another 2 weeks. I asked for a callback beginning of last week, and up to today this hasn't happened. I was told this morning that sometimes the case manager will call back once the decision is made.
None of this makes sense. Nobody at the DWP seems to know what is happening. It is very frustrating and I feel worse in my moods than ever before.
I contacted my MP over a week ago, I have had no reply, so obviously she's too busy with other things to bother.
It all seems quite hopeless, and any advice from anyone would be a help right now.
Sorry to go on, but thought I had better give background information to get good advice.
Thanks in advance for any replies.0 -
I am sick to death of hearing it will be 3 weeks for your decision, its been over 30 weeks now since i first applied, Capita failed to show at my first f2f no apology at all. Rebooked f2f for the 1st July 2014 after they said the next appointment was on 28th August 2014 so i complained. The reports from Capita were recieved by DWP on 7th and 9th July 2014. It is a very poor system and no one really gives a hoot that you are suffering. I asked for a call back last week they said 5 days to call back. What a joke they would be quick enough to call you or write to you if you owed them money. There is no compassion with the staff, as long as they get paid they aint bothered. All i want is to know yes or no, simples!!!! well to me and you it is. lol. I am not a happy bunny.:(:(:(:(:(:(0

I agree entirely. All I want to know is where I stand, maybe a truthful answer when I ask how much longer this will take.
The DWP have also said that they are dealing with them in date order and are currently deciding on May's cases.
Another member of the customer service team said they are still dealing with cases from this time last year.
All that keeps happening is that they guess a date and cross their fingers hoping that the case managers can process claims faster.
Five days for a call back is a bit of a joke in itself. Do they need to read a handbook in those five days to tell them how to dial a claimants number?
But at our end of things, worrying, hoping and fighting can become a struggle and a torment. And the worrying thing is, the DWP don't seem to understand this.
However, the wait goes on. Fingers crossed.0 -
Hi All,
I emailed my MP last night and have had a response this morning from him. He said he will be getting onto DWP today as the timescale this has taken is not acceptable.
Lets just wait and see what the outcome is.
Will let you know as soon as i know.:cool:0 -
Hi all, been reading your threads with interest. We are currently on the PIP roundabout with my son. we applied mid January, and at the end of may, his support worker received a call from Atos, with ref to his claim. we received a letter from PIP dated 27th June, saying they had all the information they needed and a decision was pending. So, no face to face! is this a good thing or bad thing in your experience? also, any idea on how long decision usually takes once all info has been received. Many Thanks
A friend of mine was turned down for DLA 6 times, without being called for a medical, despite being unable to walk more than 20m - His PIP claim has finally been successful, although it took 56 weeks from start to finish. he was paid out 3 weeks to the day of the letter stating decision pending and received enhanced daily living and mobility. whoop whoop - new quality of life for him - wish you all luck with your journeys0 -

Please note - I claim ESA and not PIP. But from experience, it means they have enough information to make a decision. The idea of f2f is because they feel they don't have enough information and need more.A friend of mine was turned down for DLA 6 times, without being called for a medical, despite being unable to walk more than 20m - His PIP claim has finally been successful, although it took 56 weeks from start to finish. he was paid out 3 weeks to the day of the letter stating decision pending and received enhanced daily living and mobility. whoop whoop - new quality of life for him - wish you all luck with your journeys
