Good luck with your appointment at freemans. You must be fed up being passed from one surgeon to another. My doctor told me to write down everything i needed to ask my consultant. And what a lot of questions i had. Only trouble i forgot the bloody paper lol.
You are right this forum is very helpfull. No matter how much pain or stress we are all in there is always somebody worse. The independence bit is the worst. It really does you head in .But one way or another you will get it back.Hopefully it will be in the same way, but if not you will find the strength and it will come in another way.x

Thank you I am going to try the writing on the paper like a diary and a few things I want to ask good idea that.
Hope you get you're letter soon to plan your next step.
I found out today dm has all my work now but tbh I am expecting 6 weeks or so now. She said if I want to add more info thur I can I have problems with my heart have since just before my op and I think its going to come back angina but I could be wrong so haven't put it on form.
Nice to see another one getting what the deserve and one fighting it. Seeing ppl having to fight it is sad but also makes me realise never to give up. Hope you get your letter soon so you can plan your next step and get a result xx

today is the day - 7months after applying well nearer 8 now I have my face to face assessment with capita - do not know whether to be relieved to have reached this stage or scared - I know it is going to be draining to say the least.

Defo adding to already high stress levels due to having to have cancer tests under a general on Thursday as consultant was not able to complete procedures under local 12 days ago and fully expecting to have to go down mr route as ME/FIBRO is variable condition though worsened since applied and know the crumbling vertebrae not miraculously improving either.

    But here it comes.

update capita just called assessor not available so coming tomorrow instead - allegedly - now 32 weeks since application.
I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.

No f2f means they have enough information to make a decision. This doesn't mean you're going to be rejected. I had the same with ESA - wasn't called for a f2f, GP was contacted, they filled in their paperwork and I was put into the support group. So, it's not always a bad thing.

  • Had my assessment last Thursday 3rd July after initially applying for PIP In November 13, was told by health assessor that it could be anything up to 8 weeks for a decision!!!!!

    Hi all,

I applied for pip at the end of Feb, today I received an appointment for f2f, I thought this was quite fast, just a little over 4 months. What is the average wait after the f2f ?

I also applied for ESA 5 months ago today, atos have my file and I'm still waiting for an appointment. There very sketchy on the phone not like the pip atos, they said I could still be waiting in another month, is it time to contact my mp to see if they can help?

I had to come out of work at the beginning of Feb, I'm am struggling financially, my HB has finally been sorted but I'm still in arrears, I simply can not afford to pay it all but am paying what I can. I don't know how much longer I can survive.

    Any advice greatly received

    Thanks

You got you're f2f quite quick both esa and pip I applied 15sept 13 my esa was done 6 weeks ago I got my decision and back payment within 2 weeks. However your pip is a while after assessment mine went to audit there saying most do now mine took 2 weeks there and now the decision maker has it he only received it yesterday and the earliest I will hear back is about 6 weeks alot on here have waited longer
Hopefully they clear the back log soon but just seems to get worse.
Fingers crossed you get sorted sooner xx
  • Thanks for the reply I was shocked that the pip f2f came through before the ESA, I thought it would be the other way round.

I found who my mp is, I might send am email this week.

I'm so fed up! But I guess most people on this thread are.

Good idea it might help you I thought my 42 weeks was bad till I read stories on here somes waited months after a f2f I think people go through so much without the long stressful wait try and stay one step ahead
Like I said mines with dm but no point ringing yet as it won't be done for some time xx

Hi everyone, I applied for pip in January and was getting very stressed waiting just like everyone else so last week I emailed my MP. Surprise surprise I have my f2f next Friday. It is an Atos home assessment and I don't know what to expect. I use a wheelchair most of the time but I can stagger about 10 steps, should I let the hp see the way I walk? I am very nervous about this as I, like everyone else, don't know how I will manage if I don't get an award.
