Hanging in there thanks geordie girl. Trying to find out some info - have posted a new thread on here - someone told me today that they backdate additional income support and housing benefit when you get awarded PIP. I can't believe they do that (although I wouldn't complain!) but can't find any info. If it's true it must cost the Gov a fortune! x

I believe they do backdate it.As for additional needs allowance google ovaltech housing benefit calculator, and enter pip award .At the end it shows you needs allowance. Compare this with what you are on now.Big difference.

So sorry geordie girl - you'll have to wait for the letter but hopefully you'll be able to go for MR and it'll be turned around. The phone call sounded pretty heartless - you'd think they'd take your feelings into account and the time you've been waiting and be a bit more pleasant when telling you. x
  • Thanks Caza and kittykat, Gonna wait for letter.Do they send atos report out with this? I asked cm for report and she didn't know what i was talking about.I thought the assesment went ok x.

From one Geordie girl to another- also failed. There is allegedly nothing wrong with me. I'm absolutely terrified now that they're going to take my ESA off me. I wish I could scream at them if they saw that I couldn't handle it and started smashing things up as I have that there is nothing at all wrong with me. I feel exhausted and sick now- I've had four panic attacks one after the other :( my ESA is only until September and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get 0 points again :( I've read the reasoning and the whole thing is one massive lie from start to end

Also a Geordie that is a joke have you asked to have it looked at again sorry that you have to go through that I haven't had my result yet it's just gone to dm now but I feel I will get the same outcome as you's at the f2f she told me I also :Ahad clinical depression I said what do you expect my life's turned upside down she said I agree and she also found my left side was weak which I was unaware off and my short term memory was rubbish I actually tried to talk myself out of the memory and weakness as I was told too be honest and not make anything sound worse. After the assessment I feel she was spying on my getting in my transport when I seen her she turned my husband said she was having a sly tab (which I doubt ). I just get the impression I've failed anyway. My husband told the lady how I get upset alot and have to feel I to explain myself to everyone
This to me is acceptance of being sick and getting help why we are it's a disgrace so many are being rejected and having to go through the daunting process. It's so wrong how one person can decide a persons health in one hour
I also had problems with esa my first claim was refused the next day after that assessment I was told at a pre op if I was put to sleep I wasn't fit enough and wouldn't wake up I failed a pre op but was made fit too work I re claimed and now get it my first one is in appeal I had to stand infront of a judge tue and explain why I needed to appeal as I get it now I said because how can someone presume your fit in 30 min I gain nothing from this appeal but the fact I was right but she accepted it and I have to have a hearing my mobility is poor and has got worse since sept but I won't allow anyoñe to say I am fit when I am far from it x

So sorry for you guys, there appear to be a few more declines coming through right now:( but please dont give up as I hear quite a few are overturned. My daughter is now on week 49 from claim I think. I have had to deal with it all for her due to her mental health issues and it seems to me a lot of the declines are mental health claims. I am really pessimistic now about her being successful and I really dont know how we will cope as my husband and I and her younger brother have been holding things up both emotionally and financially praying that eventually it will work out. Anyone been successful with a mental health claim?

I'm too exhausted to think straight. I'm straight to the doctors on Monday and telling them I need some proper help. I've scared myself with the reaction I had never mind my poor partner who is also mentally unwell. I suppose I should be thankful as it's highlighted just how much I can't actually cope :(
