Ll30. My thoughts today was well I should know by Christmas. Clark24 we have similar here apart from bailiffs I hope you get sorted my husband also looks after me and finically he needs to go back to work but i can't do anything on my own my daughter was thinking of taking a year out of uni to help but its so wrong I hope I know before she goes back in sept as she will go back happily. I really can't see you getting a assessment under 26 weeks but I hope you do. My assessment took 39 weeks and is now on IRS way too dwp today (also I've found ppl who get the assessments early seem to wait so much longer for the decision ) I hope you get sorted soon just keep pushing cx0

This is what is on the Gov.uk website -
The time between making the initial claim and getting a decision on PIP entitlement is expected to be about 12 to 15 weeks.
Claims for PIP are currently taking longer than expected. The actual time to get a decision on a claim depends on individual circumstances. In some cases it can take about 21 to 26 weeks.
Well they probably also believe in Unicorns and the tooth faerie, because we all know those timescales are a load of nonsense
That made me laugh what a joke x0 -

My daughter has changed her degree to an OU one so she can be at home to help look after me, and has taken a job too so she can help out with household finances, I'm terrified my illness will overwhelm her when she's too young to have to adjust her life around my disability. My husband wants to work but I have severe neurological damage, brain atrophy, can't wash/dress/feed myself, and have AS and all sorts of other things, my health went downhill so terrifyingly rapidly we didn't have enough warning to prepare ourselves financially, he worked for the company I own, I have had to give that up as I am pretty much a wreck now. I also have a young son and so between me and him, plus my husband and daughter dividing up who has to do what, who gets to go to hospital with me when I collapse and who stays at home, argh I can't believe what a horrendous mess my life has become or that I could end up bankrupt and homeless before I even get a F2F
I hope you get good news soon, the whole thing sucks doesn't itThere is no shame in not knowing; the shame lies in not finding out.0 -

Thanks you too and aww bless i thought mine was bad its wrong that you have to suffer money worries on top of being ill I think being ill affects us mentally and having everything else on top that you have to deal with I hope that they push it through for you its a joke how long anyone should wait I know we all have different worries and illnesses but the whole pip process is a worry in its self
Try and get your mp to help I know others have done this to help esp in your circumstances xx0 -

I'm sorry about your situation, it's terrible and the stress of pip is not helping. But remember the old saying when you hit rock botton the only way is up.0 -
Well just phoned DWP and still no decision. The lady said she doesn't know why it's taking so long. She going to trace call back and get them to phone me today or monday.I'm not holding my breath, as the call back on tuesday said sent priority task to case manager and should be dealt within 3 days.0

Although it wouldn't help the stress of waiting, etc, if they would tell us the truth when we call DWP and actually did what they promise, ie, call backs, it would save additional stress. I really don't understand why they can't be honest - we know there's a backlog so whatever they tell us isn't going to be telling us state secrets or anything like that! Fingers x'd for you geordie girl and hopefully your wait will soon be over x0 -

Hanging in there thanks geordie girl. Trying to find out some info - have posted a new thread on here - someone told me today that they backdate additional income support and housing benefit when you get awarded PIP. I can't believe they do that (although I wouldn't complain!) but can't find any info. If it's true it must cost the Gov a fortune! x0 -
