My assessment was on 7th February with Capita, until the 17th of June 2014 it was sat on a desk with them, tried the usual MP approach but they didn't have decency to even respond :/ , so I put complaint in to Capita and contacted their CEO,was an immediate response from his PA who got my file and worked on it herself and get it couriered over to DWP on 19th decision done on 22nd, the paperwork I received with the award in all fairness was accurate to what happened at the home assessment. As mentioned before I didn't get any phonecall about decision though, letter arrived and money was in my account on same day.

Here is hoping all of you who are waiting it gets sorted ASAP for you, as it felt like a huge weight was lifted yesterday
That was some time to sit on a desk disgrace but so glad you're letter finally came. You get use to reading other peoples stories that it makes you happy when they get a good outcome :) so well done x

That's terrible that I thought mine was bad hope you get a answer soon I just rang dwp and they said Maximum three weeks for a decision from when they get paper report but I know diff now. Some people have getting there's in less time than you and they should deal with longer cases first x

There are even some people waiting still a year on.Don't know which way DWP are doing it, but if it's by postcode I think we live in no-mans-land.lol.
I'm just pleased to hear that others are being awarded pip at long last.Don't worry you will probaly hear soon as they are clearing backlog .

What makes me laugh is every time my social worker rings them on my behalf asking how my claim is going they always trot out the 'the claim will definitely be processed within 26 weeks since application' line, which now means they have just a few weeks left to book me in with a F2F, see me, write their report, send it off, have DWP use it as a coffee coaster etc etc............. er 26 weeks my bum, I doubt it will still have happened in a years time and I am seriously disabled and need 24/7 care only without PIP I can't get disability funding things such as motability, carers allowance for my husband etc and my life is descending into a horrible cycle of hospital appointments and trying to hold off bailiffs as we've run out of things to sell while we wait :(

I hope Satan is reserving a special place in Hell for IDS.

    Hi everyone

It's good news to see positive news coming through for some.

Did any of you get invited to apply for Pip whilst on dla or are you new to these type of things? I'm just wondering whether anyone had any problems with their dla continuing past it's expiry date whilst pip was being decided on?

Would be interested to hear your thoughts.

    Many thanks.

I was invited to apply for PIP in January as my DLA was due to end in May. My DLA has continued with no problems and continues to do so. I had my F2F last month and my report is with the DWP now - so I'll probably get answer some time before Christmas :D HTH xx

This is what is on the Gov.uk website -

The time between making the initial claim and getting a decision on PIP entitlement is expected to be about 12 to 15 weeks.
Claims for PIP are currently taking longer than expected. The actual time to get a decision on a claim depends on individual circumstances. In some cases it can take
    about 21 to 26 weeks.

Well they probably also believe in Unicorns and the tooth faerie, because we all know those timescales are a load of nonsense :(
