Hi again meant to say that my condition is progressive and incurable so I will never be able to return to my work and that alone is a terrible thing to come to terms with without having to convince people that I am genuinely ill and need the pip. It all just makes me mad. I am sure we all feel the same.

Hi everyone, I applied for pip in January and was getting very stressed waiting just like everyone else so last week I emailed my MP. Surprise surprise I have my f2f next Friday. It is an Atos home assessment and I don't know what to expect. I use a wheelchair most of the time but I can stagger about 10 steps, should I let the hp see the way I walk? I am very nervous about this as I, like everyone else, don't know how I will manage if I don't get an award.

They'd probably want to see how you walk, if you can. If you'd normally use aids, use them.

Well hope he's a happy one who loves overtime and likes to keep on top off his work and knows how's being honest
No we will get a miserable one who's right behind with his work as he thinks everyone's a liar and likes us to wait. Haha If I can't laugh at times I'd crack up
42 weeks mine is now it got at me today and I rang and she said 3 weeks and there dealing with longer ones first yet Monday it was 6weeks and it doesn't make a diff how long you've waited (which was the most honest answer ) if yours didn't go to audit you'll get a answer before me as we went for f2f the same week let hope it's soon for you and one that'll give u something to smile about x
  • Well, received my deision notice.Didn't get copy of assesment report though.Should i have got this?. Anyway the only points i got was 2 for bathing and 2 for toilet needs.Going to ask to look at deision again as case manager has not taken my typical day into account as what was explained at assesment.Even the HP at the assesment could see that my foot was as stiff as a board and didn't try to move it lol.CM going to phone next week , but think i phone first and ask the if they want a consultants report !

You'd probably need the report to appeal. So get the report and then you go through the report and highlight anything that's wrong.

Hi, Indie Kid. I've just come off the phone and asked them to send me copy of assesment report out. (don't know how long that will take), but have to wait for CM to phone me before I can ask for MR.I have to write down everything i disagree with and tell them i have got further evidence to support my claim.

    Hi all
Well I had a long phone call to DWP earlier however I got someone thankfully who did know what she was talking about.
I asked that the CM phone me after the 21st as I am going to Mum's on Monday as respite for us both- her from my Dad who has early stage dementia and me to give my poor OH a break at the moment as he is having to take the full force of my low mood, chaotic behaviour (very much so at the moment) and my more or less constant panic attacks. I explained how ill this whole sorry saga has made me and also the fact my stress related alopecia has kicked in and I've lost about half my hair- there were tears a couple of times as trying to articulate on the phone has become very difficult :(
She was lovely though and talked me through how to make a complaint and what to do so I can have a chance at an MR as the callback time will not leave me enough time to request an MR within the month. She also agreed I had been treated badly and that I have the right to complain. And complain I will! It's not about the money now (although that will help!) it's become more about the principle of it. Good luck to everyone fighting similar battles xx
Edit- as requested have written them a 6 page letter (not of all of it strictly relevant I guess- like I say I'm chaotic at the moment) outlining my medical history where relevant, with all the supporting paperwork I have for this plus a long list of why the points the decision maker made were incorrect. Plus a letter of complaint. So then, we shall see..

Spilt tea on my computer so not been able to come online all week!

Am in complete shock, rang the PIP office yesterday and have been told I was awarded Standard Care and Higher Mobility! After a year and two days my wait is finally over! The decision was made on Tuesday but must have been after I rang them on Tuesday morning! Can't believe it yet but can't stop smiling! The wait for my back dated payment starts now! As it will be over £5k I have to wait for a manager to sign it off but hope it'll be quick!

Note for others in the Newcastle / Sunderland area: only 4 weeks since my f2f and 2 weeks since my file has been with the DM - your wait could be nearly over too!

Thanks to everyone on here for your help, support and advice - with one or two exceptions everyone on this forum is fantastic.

Caza143 & Sunflower - I hope you get the same DM that I did as he / she has obviously been working overtime to get to my file so quickly! I was told on Tuesday that they're working through in order of application dates now so that they can, hopefully, clear the oldest without too much delay. Fingers x'd for both of you as well as everyone else here who is still waiting. Su
