Been in tears of relief, decision was made on Wednesday (not sure why I wasn't told when I called or why nobody's called me), never mind, all over. Enhanced and enhanced. Hoping others have a smoother journey. This has been as bad as getting ill in the first place. Hopefully award will make it all a little easier.

That's wonderful news Susie - so happy for you. Just think of what you can do with the back payment they owe you! Seriously, it must be such a relief to have it done and dusted - at least until renewal!

Hi my husband has been waiting just over a long 9 months we found out today he has been awarded the standard rate for both missed out on higher rate by 1 point on each of the mobility and daily component ..... Should he ask for it to be re assessed !!!!!! As we only have a month to respond back

Does he meet the criteria (12 points) for the higher rates?

Just received a letter from ATOS (dated 18th June) telling me that they've finished the audit and have sent my report to the DWP. Seems it was only in audit for a week so that appears to be an improvement! Guess who I'll be phoning on Monday!

Thank you. It's still not really sunk in. I suppose I won't believe it until I get written confirmation, back pay and regular payments.
    I'm in Merseyside.
It took 39 weeks from application to assessment (might have been a couple of weeks sooner if form hadn't been wrongly returned to DWP), the assessor took 8 days to send the report to ATOS, they took 2 days to forward the report to DWP and DWP took 4 weeks to make a decision. DWP say back payment will take at least five working days for payment to clear.

That's great news. Yes phone DWP and they'll tell you the date they received your report from ATOS, if letter dated 18th they could have had it for best part of a week already.

When I received my first award notification, I was really happy to finally get awarded but when I read the report I found some information was missing and some answer were quite the ones I gave. So I sat down with my dad and showed my GP the report and was advised to put in a Reconsideration. I was doubting to do it as didn't think I could handle more stress but I did and it only took 3 weeks for them to make another decision. It may take longer but my MR was the quickest part.My dad wrote out my MR documenting all the information that was incorrect and not captured. The original decision maker called me on a Tuesday discussed with me the letter I sent in asking for a reconsideration. Then she sent it to Atos on the Wednesday to query it and they sent it back on the Friday, following week I had a new decision made by another decision maker in my favour.

  • Thanks for your replies does anyone know if while you're waiting for it to be re assessed do you still get paid the pip payment while they are looking at it again ...
