Grandcat having extended 'sleepover'!

Glad to hear your Mums ok and Barnes is being typically contrary when it comes to how you were expecting him to behave given the serious neglect he has been incurring between the decorating and the NHS0
-
I know I have been neglecting Barnes - I HAVE made time to have games of chuckthegravel and TRIED to do his G&T on time - but OH doesn't work to Barneytime - so poor Barnes schedule has been disrupted badly this week! good thing the weather has been good so far - I think he can forgive anything if he can spend his time 'outside'. Barnes does get his treats at some point - but he and I prefer our 'schedule'. We have our days just as we LIKE them! lol, or should that be 'as Barnes likes them'?0

Hi Meri!
Glad your mum is ok.
Well, Scrappy has finally won...he's off to Grandma's a week earlier than planned as he's started peeing in the house again and overgrooming. Thought we'd cracked it but he's clearly not happy, even less so since mum stayed over on Saturday.
So, it's a trip to the vets for some more Ovarid, PAH for some "posh" food he'll eat (drives me loopy when mum insists on buying him food) then off to Grandma's for a few weeks of fuss and pampering.
I swear he grinned when I told him he was going back to grandma's0 -
I didn't want to not post tonight, but I am not feeling very well and am off to bed in a mo.
Barnes had a bit more attention than so far this week, he had a really THOROUGH grooming today, so lots more dreamies than usual. his fave chicken and pumpkin dinner and his fave 'poultry' sheba sachet for supper. a happy cat! oh and he didn't like the rain this afternoon................where did the sunshine go?0 -
Hope you feeling better tomorrow x0
-
thanks nonnie! yes, feeling a lot better!
last night I had earache, headache, bumache you name it and it ached!
Its all OHs fault! my week is normally spent 'quietly'. this week its been nonstop! decorating and those frequent trips to BnQ and other DIY stores. and every dam discount shop in the valleys! I was exhausted!
and my living room isn't going to be finished until next weekend!!! don't ask - just don't ask!
Barnes was upset its been raining today, but for some reason now its dried up and still sunny, he is sleeping on kitchen windowsill!
but, each time I have picked him up for cuddles today he has licked me! he hasn't done that before!
G&T - I thought - tummy, he hates his tummy being combed, but the comb went through no problem! and he PURRED when I did it! in fact he purred all the time he was being groomed........he used to HATE it! but I have noticed he spends time grooming his 'nether bits' now. and he 'washes his face' with his paw which he didn't do before. (um - its funny because he leaves his fur in the wrong direction...........and his face looks weird!)
I am not taking credit for all this self grooming - I think its down to his 'ladylove' next door!0 -
Aawww I think your his true love lol, it's just brilliant how much of a 'different' cat he is now and it's all down to your love and care, so you should definitely take credit0
-
lol, naw - he wasn't THAT interested in looking his best until he set eyes on 'the cat next door'!
GS2 is having a sleepover tonight - if Barnes thinks he is sleeping in with him he can think again.............GS2 is used to a dog sleeping on the floor in his room........not a cat sleeping on his head! so Barnes wont be allowed in.
He hasn't spent much time outside today, even when its been sunny he has just had a quick five minutes inspecting his plants and its back in for a windowsill nap. I think he can hear the thunder even though its many miles away. it doesn't bother him when he is inside though. he doesn't even open his eyes!
We have had frequent thunder, not much lightening and some rain. it could have been worse, I hear some areas had it pretty bad.
hopefully it will be a nicer day tomorrow!0 -
hi I am shy and don't normaily post but I love this thread
I stumbled on it as I would love a kitten and been checking out battersea dogs/cats to get one
I had a beautiful black cat that was half persian she was a stray that we took in and had her for 12 years.
She died 5 years ago and I didnt think I could bear to have another one
recentlynext doors cat has taken a shine to me.often he comes in for a cuddle as they work all day and sometimes when I go to bed at 2am he is out in the pouring rain so he has slept with me.
I want a kitten this time and though I have grandchildren they dont visit very much.
Just seem to have lost my confidence and hope I can look after the kitten good enough
I am home all the time so is hubby as I have chronic pain.
You sound like a fantastic gran too my eldest son has aspergers he is 33
Barnes sounds like a very clever cat I dont remember beauty choosing her toys but she did love sleeping on my pillow
but I have never had the experience of a cat and litter tray as she just went out in garden.0 -
hi Belinda and Thanks for reading our thread!
TBH, before I had Barnes I had resigned myself to being 'petless' in old age! (that was a joke, I am only JUST 60!). OH said 'Never again' after we lost our beloved Nicky. I knew I wasn't up to having a dog - walkies are definitely out! But, I love cats too and secretly wanted another. then along came Barney...................and you know the rest!
there are loads of kittens out there desperate for a home - and if you aren't 'perfect' (I certainly aint), the kitty isn't going to judge you! so go for it hun, my life hasn't been the same since Barnes entered it...........I feel so blessed to have him!
I just wanted to reply to Belinda, so Barnes usual post - via myself- will be at the usual time!0
