awwwwww nicter - he is a lucky boy! but then, you got lucky there too!
I do love a win-win situation!
sorry to hear he has a heart condition!
my nan always used to say 'creaking gates last longest'! had no idea what she meant until I realised that health problems don't always shorten lives!
Here is to a long and happy one for Alf!0 -
well, this morning Barnes yowled when I was having a ciggy in porch, so I opened door and invited him out. he was quite hesitant - checked to see if it was raining, looked at me and looked outside - then back at me. I encouraged him and he explored my front garden for the first time. then the first raindrops fell and he bolted for the dry indoors! rofl!
he wanders over to inspect the christmas tree now and again - but mostly takes no notice! no attempt to climb it or swat balls off it!
we have had a very lazy Sunday today! we all seem tired (OH is 'on call' this week and he has been quite busy - only one call out this morning for a couple of hours thank the goddesses), and its been good to just chill out. Barney included! he hasn't even gone into kitchen this evening to see if I have done his supper! he has been asleep next to OH on the settee for hours! (No, OH isn't asleep he is watching TV).0 -

I love human names for pets - hence my moggy Eric (named after my music hero Eric Clapton).
Only trouble is, one of my neighbours is called Eric and when he first moved in he would answer me when I was actually calling moggy to come in for his tea !0 -
hmmmm Expand on that ERICS MUM - Eric is a very respectable name for a cat - but needs 'poshing up'.0

aah but we have a very exotic sounding russian surname which adds a touch of panache to his vet and cattery records !
He is in a "Bah Humbug" mood at the moment:

but will perk up once we start wrapping the presents:

Can't tell you how much I love him !0 -
you know - every vet I have had has called us into the surgery by shouting 'Animals name then our Surname'. I have spent many a happy boring waiting time thinking up embarrassing names for the vet to call!
I think the best one was BubbleButt Burke. Made my OH laugh anyway!
How did this get posted? I hadn't finished!
Erics Mum - what a helpful cat! I wonder if Barnes will help with the wrapping too?0 -
okay - daily report coming up!
Atrix and his missus visited this morning - Barnes was so pleased to see them!
OH and I went to pick up our new car this afternoon - then when we got home OH sat in it for a while with the manual 'to familiarise himself with controls'! Yeah!
Barnes came out to porch with me again and headed outside as it wasn't raining. oh dear - the two westies next door immediately set up a torrent of barks and growls ............does Barnes head for the hills? NOPE - Barnes tries to get over the fence into their garden! apparently under the impression they were his fan club and dying to meet him! STUPID CAT! good thing he was on harness!
lol - I have gravel in the front garden - and watching Barnes 'tiptoeing' across it made me giggle! for gawds sake - you would have thought it was broken glass the care he took! a neighbour spotted him, so we went through the 'oh what a gorgeous cat, what breed is it' conversation. I am thinking of getting a brochure printed!0 -
HI!
Harley tried helping me with the wrapping. He plonked his muddy feet on th epaper to "hold it down" (I'm sure that's what he was trying to do) He's ignored the Christmas tree up until last night when I went to bed early. I kept hearing Hubby saying "No Harley, stop batting the bauble" "No Harley, don't climb the tree" "No Harley, leave the lights alone" I just lay in bed giggling to myself.
I can't really think of a "posh" name for Barnes, sorry. None of mine have remotely interesting/original names though Harley is so called as he purrs loudly like a Harley Davidson.
You'll never guess why Blackie is so called, oh you have already!0
