My deepest apologies - I didn't get the time to work on Sire Barnibus's naming Certificate today. I unexpectedly had to mind GS2 today, not only for his mums shift but for her to get in a couple of hours shopping for the last minute bits and bobs!
I know how it is - I was planning on making my 'famous cherry pie' for dessert tomorrow and although I swear I bought two jars of cherries, I could only find one! OH says he thought there were two jars in shopping trolley last week too! Another one of lifes mysteries - and I forgot batteries! so I had to nip over Aldi's as well!
put my schedule well behind! instead of finishing the cooking and prep at 6.00 it was 9.40 and I am cream crackered!

I haven't even wrapped Barneys pressies yet! I will have to do it sneakily in the morning, in the spare room with door firmly shut as he loves wrapping presents! rofl - or rather he likes nicking the 'bows' off them and batting them under the sofas, he likes the ribbon too, eating it that is, and I have spent the last couple of evenings chasing him round trying to get ribbon off him!

Sire Barnibus never ceases to amaze me - we were halfway to Aldi's when I suddenly realised that I had left the joint of gammon on the worktop (cooked - I did manage to get that done while GS2 was here), then I thought - well if that doesn't tempt him to steal - nothing will! It didn't - he hadn't touched it! I couldn't have done that with any of our pets before - the gammon would have been half eaten!

Barnibus was in 'Play' mode tonight! we hadn't had playtime today and he must have felt neglected, so he sat by his toy basket and yowled. LOUDLY! we then played Ping Pong, PingPongUppastairs and - he wanted more! Fishonalline then - which he abruptly left me waving to go finish his supper! his Lordship commands - and I obey!

I am shattered now - had 14 people for Christmas dinner in a small terrace house! we eat in shifts! and they stay all afternoon, jeez I must be too nice to them! lol.

but you want to hear about Sire Barnibus's first Christmas here!
well it started off calmly enough - we got up and he had his breakfast as usual - his first hint something was going on was I started cooking! first thing in morning! OH and I exchanged gifts but I was so busy I still didn't get Barnes pressies wrapped!
went up mums and came back to start lunch - but brought GS1 and GD2 with me - so got them to wrap Barnes pressies.
he was funny - he knows the sound of 'dreamies' so I got GD2 to rattle his present for him - he was definitely interested but at a loss as to how to get at it? so we helped him! he was thrilled with his packets of 'Dreamies' in new flavours he hasn't tried. his other pressie he was a bit puzzled and a bit suspicious - a very large felt, catnip mouse! lol - he decided he liked it later!

I honestly thought he would disappear when all the family arrived - and was most amused to see him in the very middle of the living room watching proceedings with everyone giving him the space and respect he expected!
Then, after lunch when things quietened down (everyone too stuffed to move), he decides to make his escape attempt through the open kitchen window! luckily one of the grandgirls spotted him and brought him back in!!!!!!!!!! I have always kept the kitchen window open while cooking and never once has he left by it!
He had the bits left by the meat slicer for his dinner - he ate it all! he usually turns his nose up at slices of meat.
Like me, he is shattered now - so HE is comfortably cuddled up to one of the cushions on settee!

These get very good reviews and would keep barney safely inside whilst allowing some fresh air in.

many thanks paddypaws - will look into it thoroughly later! just finished watching Harry Potter. I have been waiting for the film to be shown and really enjoyed it!

Right - Sire Barnibus was left alone most of today - I had to pop to Adsa to exchange some mugs - the handle was broken on one of them. then up to mums for the Boxing Day Buffet Lunch - made the mistake of turning up early and couldn't just sit there and let sis do all the work - so spent two hours cooking! as if I hadn't done enough yesterday!

Poor Barnes had to wait for his groom and treats so he got extra - and I played with him for ages - but was that good enough for his lordship? NOPE! He kept demanding attention - so I was tossing ping pong balls in all directions - and I can only find FIVE now! Have to get OH to move the settees in case they went behind the legs and I cant see them (Barnes likes to bat them under settees). I cant move the settees myself, on my own - they probably weigh more than a small car! he also got out his 'fishonnaline' and promptly tangled hisself up in it and nearly strangled himself! So I was sat there watching the movie and waving this ruddy fish around - then I noticed he wasn't there and the little bu99er had gone for a nap!

Barnes must wonder what's going on - I was out most of today too! ~Still he had his groom and treats when I got back. Then he went up for a 'windowsill nap', and we had a hailstorm! jeez - I heard a panicked yowl and a thump then donk, donk, donk (he took the stairs in three jumps), and a frightened cat landed on the settee and got as close to me as he could get without actually sitting on my lap! It all quietened down so he went back up - and damme if we didn't have another one half hour later! He yowled all the way down the stairs too this time! he hasn't gone back up since!

I have done his Naming Cert now - now I just have to figure out a way to get it the right size to post on here!
