hmmm, booby trap may work (but I need to install camera in shower head to find out how the hell he avoids them to poo in the bath!), because he set the 'trap' off while getting out of the bath and raced out of the bathroom and down the stairs in a right panic! I was waiting for that, before offering him an 'alternative' - a second litter tray right beside the bath and there is just room for it between the door and the bath! I leave the door open for him so it is a very private area for him! unfortunately, it has to be the open tray as the covered one is too big!

his human sisters were here earlier - he enjoyed that!

Well he used second litter tray today! strangely, he waited until OH had finished in the shower and I hadn't reset 'booby trap' - this was about 4.00pm at about 4.15 I reset booby trap. I just went upstairs and the shower curtain was gaping open at one end and all booby traps still in place! nothing in the bath though and Barnes was reclining on bath mat with a smug look on his face! (never seen him on bath mat before!).

Is he playing mind games with me?????????????????

OH said that while I was putting washing on the line earlier, Barnes was verbally abusing me through the French windows! lol. annoyed because I was out and he was in, I think!

I wish I could have recorded this - I was late (again!), with his grooming and treats, and his yowls sounded just like a cockerel! I couldn't believe it was coming from him! made me laugh at him (Sorry Barnes).

Reason I was late is because I decided to go blackberry picking to get what will be the LAST harvest. they are now soaking in some salt water to eliminate the 'grubs' and I will make jam and maybe a small blackberry pie tomorrow. also was given a carrier bag of cooking apples by my next door neighbour - wow, I am blessed this week!

second thoughts - a rather large blackberry and apple pie!
  • I'm really enjoying reading your posts. He sounds like a lovely boy who is enjoying winding you up to see who will win the battle of pooing in the bath :D

    Yes you are posting!
Ooh, I bet Barnes looks very dashing in his harness, maybe we will get to see pics.:D
  • Oh I would love to be able to take our two out for walks in a harness.... unfortunately as soon as you put one on Salem he does crocodile death rolls and you can’t even get near Gizmo with one, it’s like he knows what it’s for and is off like a shot. By the time you manage to catch him you’re too worn out to even try to wrestle him in to it.

well, this morning had a nasty 'wake up call'! Barnes decided to poo in the bath and set off the trap! which didn't faze him this time and OH (who had to get up for work anyway), was confronted by Barney having a poo! all hell broke loose! OH is OCD about animals toileting inappropriately, so he was Shouting, Barnes was Wailing and I was hiding under the duvet! shaking uncontrollably with laughter. I have a weird sense of humour you know!
cleaned both litter trays (he had used it at some point) and reset the trap a bit more imaginatively!
but Barney is right now stretched out on bathroom mat again! hmmmm he is hell bent on guerrilla warfare I think!
  • Oh dear 1-0 to Barnes today then :D I was thinking of things you could put across the bath to stop him, what about a couple of folded up clothes horses?
