I couldn't have gone to the vets either his missus but I'm really glad that you got some closure. I totally understand about not replacing Casper, I love my 2 furry babies but I had Charlie cat for nearly 20 years and there will always be such a big part of my heart that belongs to her. I hope your feeling a little better today xx0

I've got 3 other little munchkins to keep me occupied and I'm sure they're trying their hardest to keep me distracted.
We have decided that as Harley has been back with us 7 months now with no wanderings, we will let him have free run of the outside world 24-7.
He now has a new nickname - Carol Kirkwood - as he likes to inform us what the weather is like early morning. He dived on the bed at 6.35am this morning absolutely soaked through, miaowed his usual "I'm home!" shook himself all over us and then decided to curl up between us, soggy tail across Hubby's face and two wet front paws resting on my shoulder.0 -
Lol what a fabulous early morning alarm clock haha xx0

ty balletshoes. while Barney was sat by me earlier I noticed that my watch was reflecting on the wall - so did Barney! I started 'dancing' the reflection and Barney was definitely watching it! I was thinking of a 'laser pen' but a bit worried in case I accidently shone it in his eyes. so the pet toy laser pens are quite safe? if so I will get him one.
Small torch works as well even though you don't get such a narrow beam. I had a cat who could leap half way up a wall following the torch beam.:T0 -
Meri, we have a laser pen cat toy. Harley just needs to hear the click of the button and he's up looking for the red dot. I'm sure they're perfectly safe and even if you accidently shone it at an eye it would be for a split second at most. Harley and Scrappy usually have their heads down to the floor hunting so I don't think I could shine the beam in their eyes.0

sorry - been busy! One of the grandkids borrowed the laser pen - Barnes prefers 'pingponguppastairs' anyway. or even 'chuck catnip mousy'. and his favourite game now is 'catch the Dreamies'! though he seems to get worse not better at catching them! and its FLY season! getting a few flies coming in and Barnes wont have that! flies are chased and swatted and killed (and left for me to dispose of).
Sunday - did a birthday 'tea party' for my oldest granddaughter who was 13. it was also the day the family scattered mums ashes up in her garden. I am a bit 'funny' about this so didn't go. and I thought it would be nice if people had happy memories to go home with (the kids I mean).
any ways, everyone tucked into the spread and Ava was given a cocktail sausage to try, she licked it and then chucked it..............and Barney pounced on it and spent the next five minutes batting it about the living room!!! it went under the settees, but he dived under them and retrieved it, he finally 'killed and ate it'! much to the amusement of the family.
Barnes coat has been driving me nuts! since he has become an indoor/garden cat his fur has developed a thick undercoat he doesn't seem to know how to groom - so he matts up quickly.
I have tried several cat grooming brushes - all useless! I bought a 50p comb in Wilkies for fine hair............its got like a little afro comb on one end which I use for gently teasing the fur apart...............works great! Barnes has NO patience for detangling matts - loads of treats required at grooming time again.0 -
ages since I posted - so sorry! Family Stuff been on my mind and I got up Saturday feeling distinctly 'under the weather'! OH kindly passed on his cold! must have been ill, as Saturday night Barnes spent the night curled tightly against my back, or in the 'nest' between my chest and knees. and squeeked his annoyance when I sneezed or coughed! normally I just get a few minutes 'cuddles for bed' time! then he is off to stare out of window or come downstairs to get his toys and play. with the odd foray back onto the bed for a few minutes and more cuddles.
I am feeling a lot better today (strange as the same cold made OH feel ill for a couple of weeks! but he struggled manfully on! and got loads of tea, sympathy and hot water bottles from me).
Barnes wants his litter tray back in the bathroom I think - he keeps following me in and sitting where his covered tray was. then staring at me.................I do hope he isn't thinking 'if the litter tray doesn't materialise - I will pretend it has, he he he').
I finally found the right light pulls! they were hiding in BnQ the whole time! honestly, how we missed them I do not know!!! and only a fiver each (I have to have two). I have seen similar online but wasn't paying over £20 odd quid for lightpulls! plus postage!
now OH is better I shall send him into attic to look for that cable so I can download/upload? pics to computer.0 -
Hi meri,
I've removed the litter tray from the bathroom too but Scrappy keeps following me in, looking around and then just sitting there. Like you I wonder if he's just going to do his biz there anyway!
Had to take him to the vets on Sunday as his bottom lip was swollen, like he had a large, hard blister on it. Vet thinks it may be a bee sting or an allergic reaction to something so he's on antibiotics all week.
He looks like a sulky kid with his bottom lip stuck out.0
