It's so worrying when they disappear even for a short time. I still panic if Harley doesn't return after two calls or if he's not about when I wake up in the morning.
I have a vision of Barnes sat on the window sill watching you walking around with a packet of dreamies in the rain thinking, "I'm here you daft woman!" ;)

Yes! that has happened in the past! rofl

My two aren't very street smart either and thank goodness stay in our garden most of the time. Just like Barnes if something noisy goes past they shoot straight into the house, I only let them out when I'm in and leave the back door open.

Haven't had much time for technology this last week as mum got taken into hospital, the wee rascal wasn't feeling too well and didn't want to bother anyone, so she phoned the ambulance herself and then text me from A & E just to let me know and tell me not to panic! Blood sugar level at 31 instead of 7 and ridiculously anaemic. So 4 units of blood later and now on insulin she is much better. But omg when the nurse takes my brother to the side to say that he might need to phone all the family, it was too close for comfort. I can laugh now but I swear she has 9 lives! Sepsis was a close call, they warned that the broken hip might bleed out as she is on warfarin and they had to operate quickly and now this...ooch well another 6 to go :rotfl:

Cats (and dogs) who have been bred to have "flattened" faces are prone to breathing problems so no wonder he snores. We have only ever had moggies, with nice, pointed faces and none have ever snored. It could be stress but I would be very inclined to take him to a different vet, ideally in a different practice to be certain he is OK. Only blood tests will show for sure. How old is he now?

Nonnie, that is something my mother would do. "Oh I didn't want to bother you all..." She usually tells me of a doctors appointment/blood test/feeling ill as an after thought on the phone, once she's asked how the cats all are and moaned about the price of something at the supermarket!

Hope your mum makes a speedy recovery.

Thanks his missus, it's funny now and tbh I am glad that she fights to keep her independence, but considering we live about 3 minutes apart she really wouldn't have been bothering me lol xx

My mum lives about 10 miles away, only a 10 minute drive straight along the motorway AND, as DH has a company van and the company pays for his diesel, it costs us nothing to visit her or take her anywhere, we have no kids and it's not like we're often busy yet she's still Little Miss Independent!

I'm sorry? have you posted on the right thread? Where have I said Barnes snored loudly or excessively or had breathing problems?

I actually took him up vets tonight for his booster and heart murmer check and the vet checked his breathing and he is FINE! He has a funny little snore - but its not as bad as our now deceased springer spaniel who could snore for Wales!

Barnes is just about 10 now, and Persians are a long lived breed! so in the prime of life.
and he has put on 200 grams in the last year - which is fine as he was slightly underweight due to being ill.
and no, I wont change vets - the ones he has are really good and I trust them. my son uses the same practice for his family of cats and he trusts them too - which is good enough for me.
Thank you for your concern - but Barnes is a happy, well cared for, contented cat.

Oh my gosh Meri, the weather up here is frightful. It was snowing here at 4am, want to know how I know despite being tucked up in bed asleep? Because Harley decided it would be fun to snuggle under the duvet, covered in snow, curl up next to me and put his very cold and wet paws on my very warm body!!!! I don't think I've ever woken up so abruptly :D

rofl - Harley needs a hot water bottle! on second thoughts..............he has one! YOU!
Smodlet - I wasn't offended, just puzzled as to why you thought Barnes has a problem.it was nice of you to be so concerned - I dare not neglect Barnes or mistreat him in any way or his legion of fans on here would lynch me! lol Join in the thread Smodlet - do you have pets?
