Meri, they put a 'care package' in place for mum when she broke her hip before and they won't let you leave the hospital till that's ready, fortunately she's doing a little better each day and won't need that. She was told today that her warfarin level is too low so won't be out tomorrow, it's a bit of a bummer but I know it's better to be safe than sorry! Hopefully no later than Friday but we'll just play it by ear, going to ask for permission to take dd along tomorrow after school so that mum can see her on her bd, that will cheer her up. Trying to get early nights to keep fresh, thank you both for your kind words :)

Very warm here today, hope your both enjoying the sunshine, bit too warm for my furry babies today though! xx

It's a lot cooler here today, Nonnie. My brood seem to be spending a lot of time indoors recently, maybe it's because the weather has been quite warm. They did sit out with us on Sunday afternoon and evening though once we put a cushion on the bench and got the director style garden chairs out ;)

Cats just love their comfort his missus and we love to pander to them lol, it was just as warm here today and it's to stay for the next few days. Love getting the washing out but this morning the whirly gig had about 20 wee spiders on it ...I'm so not good with spiders even small ones, so this does cause me a problem :p I'd so love to get rid of this stupid phobia although Sam is fabulous at eating ones in the house:D xx

its been wet here the last couple of days - but warmish and muggy.

Barnes fur is (I think) growing back - I will be glad when he is back to his usual gorgeous good looks! though he is a much happier kitty - so much so, I haven't bothered with massacring my Aloe plant today! I will probably apply a little more tonight though. I also got greeted with him hecking up a furball when I woke up this morning! and he couldn't wait for the rain to stop so he could go outside - bleeding nagged me all morning! luckily it stopped about 2ish so he got some garden time. We left the patio table out and he likes to sit on that because he can see over the fence then!lol. nosy beggar!

Glad to hear Barnes is doing well.

Scrappy legged it in through the catflap last night, instead of his usual lazy saunter, with a furry thing in his mouth! It was only because of the way he ran in that I even took notice of him. None of them have brought anything in for ages, I'm hoping it's not the start of a phase.

Fortunately, as I noticed there was a furry thing in his mouth, Hubby chased him out of the front door, once they'd done a lap of upstairs.

Sunday! one of Barnes favourite days! He was happy to be let out at 6.00am (I had a dreadful night - i kept waking up, and i wasn't in pain or anything, then i realised, 'Oh Shiite! its the fifteenth - it would have been mums 84th birthday!). so Barnes enjoyed the early morning sun and i sort of sat and reflected. Then decided i was going to keep busy, and as Sunday is usually a busy day for me i just got an 'early start'!
The grandgirls came down for lunch (reason why Barnes loves Sundays) and he got groomed and treated! and cuddled and fussed over!
I used the last of my rice flour to make some chocolate fairy cakes (I am still adjusting my recipes to take account of the fact that rice flour does NOT behave like wheat flour! I am wheat intolerant since having that bluddy campylobacter food poisoning - so cant eat bu99er all from a bakery) .

Tried making some ribbon roses with some very cheap wired ribbon i bought yesterday - very successful, they turned out beautiful! Cleaned patio doors and windows, went up shop, cooked dinner etc and am now distracting myself on 'tinternet'!.
Barnes has had a good day - and if truth be told - so have I!
Oh asked if wanted to go up mums and i didn't want to. its going to be my sons house soon (not Atrix - the other son) and i cant go up every May 15th and plant or lay flowers can i? so why start something? my sis did though. OH had to go up to sort out some prob and Sis turned up with flowers. But me and sis have very different views on the grieving process.
Sorry to vent - ignore it all! i just feel better getting it all out!

Mer, it's your thread and you have every right to vent.....as long it made you feel better :D

His missus, I would have taken a fit if one of mine had came in with anything alive or dead!

Mum finally got home after almost 3 weeks in hospital thank goodness, a wee bit weak but doing well. I really admire her as she is such a fighter but never complains, been on her own since my dad passed in 1999 and I just think that she has done so well. It's just pants when people get older isn't it :o Thank goodness we're all spring chickens on here :p xx

rofl - Thanks for the 'Spring Chicken' compliment nonnie!
So pleased your mum is home now. I am sure her recovery will come on in leaps and bounds now - people convalesce so much better in their own homes. was just saying that to my neighbours son - his mum is coming out of hospital tonight and going to his home to recover a bit.

after a rainy start its been gorgeous here in Sunny south wales, lol! beautiful late afternoon so Barnes is in and out. not sure if he doesn't want a sunburned 'bald patch' but he seems reluctant to be in the sun - yet wants to be out.

I'm sure your right Meri, and with better weather coming in she can get out a bit more just for a wee walk around the park she is next to.

It's been absolutely freezing this week, last week we were all melting! Ended up putting the heating on for an hour tonight which I was trying not to do, hey ho it's Scotland and May what more do I expect :D xx

Glad your mum is better nonnie - and I do hope she can get out and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine!

um - I put the heating on unless there is a heatwave! I feel the cold since having pneumonia back in the late 1980s. My body temp is a degree below normal (which scares the hell out of medical staff until I explain its normal for me). and I have a hot water bottle for my back too every night! OH says I could complain about the cold in the Sahara Desert! rofl.
I keep the thermostat at 22 degrees - that is the minimum I feel comfortable at! barnes doesn't seem to mind - on really cold nights he knows there is a nice 'hot spot' on the bed.
I don't like these fluctuations in temperature either - but its Wales! very similar to Scotland but not QUITE as cold! and I should be used to it by now.
