Thanks his missus, my wee (all grown up) tomboy scrubbed up not too badly! She had a ball and a boy that she has went to school with since they were 5 walked right past her and had to ask someone who she was.....ah the power of make up :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
If it was my two it would be the calm before the storm0 -
nonnie - I could say 'she scrubs up well'! BUT - she is stunning! such a beautiful smile - I noticed the dress second, and that is beautiful too!
my OH walked past as I was looking at the pic and went 'wow'!
I think 'Proms' are the best import from America - it may be the ONLY time in a childs life they get to 'dress up' and go to a formal 'do'!
and if a formal do is part of their new working life - then its a great introduction!
I am so glad she enjoyed it!
Barnes is now overdue up the vets for flea treatment - and HELP! I have been doing some online research and tbh - still clueless! will ring for appointment and request same vet as last time. I have delayed it because:
a - research into the 'injection' brought up too many 'pros' and 'cons', so I am no more informed than before really.......and
b - his neck still showed signs of the allergic reaction! However - its now healed and the fur is growing back nicely.0 -
Thank you Mer that's very kind of you, I love that you noticed her smile....11 teeth pulled and 2 1/2 years of braces were definitely worth it! I agree re proms, I think they are a great idea and I certainly don't think she'll ever forget it.
I hope you manage to get the same vet and get something sorted for Barnes flea treatment, thank goodness his fur is growing back now, you and him have not had an easy time with flea treatments xx0 -
Oh Meri, I don't know what to suggest about flea treatment. A the moment my 3 all seem clear so I've not been giving them anything. I do have some Johnson flea tablets in a some spot-ons (not sure of the brand off the top of my head) just in case I find one.
Think is the first time we've not had a flea problem around this time of year...oh, bet I've jinxed now though, saying that!0 -
I really hope that you don't leave. As much as I don't post on it, I love getting the daily digests and reading about Barnes and his misadventures. If you do move on, I wish you all the best, but if you can, please let us know where we might follow him elsewhere.
I haven't really posted on the boards for a long time, and I really don't like to anymore, but I do like to follow some of the threads and keep updated. Particularly the cat ones I follow. I'm down to Zero cats now, so it's always nice to read on about other cats. Alfie passed too soon, and Tribbles has moved into my parents as he got sad after Alfie.
Barnes Servant/mummy I hope you stay love hearing his/ your adventures. dont often post but have been reading your log on a daily bases.
We have been flooded 16 june and relocated to hotel . our two cats still at home on guard duty Saffy (timid house cat very stressed) Tuna (sandwich short of a picnic full of war wounds ragged ear loves people often will be found high as a kite on cat mint. if cats had an asbo he would need a full time parole officer:rotfl::rotfl: Hotel is minutes away from our house so easy to pop back to feed cuddles etc.,
if you do move on please pm me xx Andrea0 -
I know from the 'viewing' figures a lot of people read the thread - even if they don't post! I say again, you are ALL welcome to post! I love reading about your pets and your comments on Barnes.
don't worry - if I do 'disappear' I will get news about Barnes on the thread either through Atrix (my son) or friends who I know wont mind popping on and updating you all.
welcome tunathe cat! your cats sound like characters!
I meant to phone the vets and just haven't had time or chance today! I am hoping to ring them tomorrow ...............but I do have another busy day unfortunately. and the vets are so busy it often takes ages to get through! but, fair dos, when you do, appointments are generally made quickly.0 -
meritaten - Just in case you missed it, I came across this and thought of Barnes.
If you get banned/modded/whatever, there will be a riot. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
well I am still here (so far).
I HAVE been busy today and haven't managed to get through to vets despite ringing about a dozen times! - will try again tomorrow.
Barnes is very happy with me! I couldn't get brekkies today and so bought 'Go-Cat' for his dry food. His new 'Nom Nom' FAVOURITES now! He took one sniff and dived right in!
(atrix used to love them too - so much so I actually rang the makers up to find out if they were ok for humans to eat. Atrix ate them by the handful! when the nice lady stopped laughing, she put me through to the guy who had formulated the recipe. he assured me they were perfectly good for human consumption!)0 -
I scared the !!!!!! out of Barney today! for some reason he had jumped up on the dining table and I went toward him saying 'Barney, GET DOWN!' but, I tripped and went flying chest first onto the table with arms outstretched..........Barnes looked horrified, then flew off the table and fled upstairs! I couldn't stop laughing!
the one bright spot this weekend - I was so upset over the referendum result!
nonnie - you scots saw through the bullshyte - good on ya! hope Nicola can save you!0 -
Poor Barney, it must have really scared him for him to shoot away like that!
I was expecting the referendum to be close but I really didn't expect that result, nobody I have spoken to is happy at all and a few people I know who voted 'No' in the Scottish referendum are now stating that they will vote 'Yes' at a second vote if that means we can gain entry back into the EU. I think that it's going to be a rough time ahead for the country, but I'm in the fortunate position of potentially gaining a place back in EU which takes the pressure off a little. It's a sad time to see how fragmented the country and politicians are at the moment. On a brighter note, I was speaking to my american cousin about all this a few days ago and she suggested as Trump was in Scotland at the time why not keep him to replace Cameron.....I politely declined :eek:0
