I must admit Mer that I prefer to be too cold than too hot, (not too cold though) so it's probably a good thing that I live here! Been nice today and the cats have loved rolling about outside, so where was I? In the kitchen cleaning out cupboards lol, mind you it's dd's prom in 3 weeks so I'm spring cleaning so that it'll all be done in plenty of time. Having a wee afternoon where everyone who wants to pop in to see her before she heads off is more that welcome. I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the prom as she has gone with a Cinderella ballgown and that is so NOT my daughter, jeans and a t-shirt normally with Converse on her feet, doesn't do make up etc......however don't think I could completely take the tomboy out of her (nor would I want to) so she has silver sparkly Converse with ribbon matching her dress to finish the look off!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Fat Sam is constantly chasing me around at the moment as he is on a diet and not a happy bunny at all, he gets really grumpy with his sister and sits and stares at her eating occasionally takes a swipe at her as she walks by, if she's missing a leg soon I bet he'll be licking his lips :D xx

LOL - my DD and I were discussing what we would like to see on a holiday destination - I said the 'Aurora Borealis'. when she stopped laughing, she said 'What? from an aeroplane window?' 'Nope, from a nice warm cruise ship'! I have it all worked out! even if I have to go out on deck, I am sure I could take an electric blanket to wrap round me and there would be SOMEWHERE to plug it in!
Second choice is the Pyramids - I would probably enjoy the midsummer temps out there!

I love the sound of your DDs Prom outfit! I do hope she enjoys the night! I think its fantastic for the kids to get to dress up in 'formal attire'! it may be the only time in their lives they get to do this and ride in limos - so I do believe its a great addition to their education.

ooohhh - a cat on a diet is not a happy kitty! I bet he blames YOU!

    How is your mum nonnie?

Oh Nonnie, I don't envy you with one cat on a diet and another not! I'd probably send the dieting cat to "Grandma's" for my own sanity ;)

Mmmhh diet's not going very well and he's a sneaky wee rat! He doesn't seem to be able to jump up high onto window sills etc, however if I turn my back for 2 mins he jumps up onto the side of the kitchen worktop to finish off what Charlie has left! Problem being that Charlie is already super skinny and will only eat if there is no one watching her....weird cats I have lol, so anyway I walk away and I swear he turns into a ninja! It's unbelievable, this is the cat who slides down the back garden fence Garfield style but by goodness turns into Spider-Man when he smells food. He is driving me nuts and I wish I could split them up for a wee while, no chance of that unfortunately. Do any of you wonder how different cats would be if they were the only pet? I do think that Charlie gets 'held back' by Sam, she isn't overly affectionate but if he isn't around she does want some love but jumps straight off if he appears. Equally so if you show any love to her and even talk nicely to her and don't look at him he almost growls, he's just a big jealous softy! Jings I think he knows I'm typing about him, he's sitting staring at me :rotfl:

Mum is feeling a bit better this week thanks Mer, we're getting there. She is so looking forward to dd's prom, she has 3 gd's but the oldest one was estranged from our family when it was her prom and the middle one left school after 5th year so didn't have a prom, and dd and mum are very close as she is the only one local, the other 8 grandkids are boys so it really is a one off.

Having a bit of a nightmare with dd's dress, tried it back on and a lot of the beads have came loose and the hem isn't right, took it back to the seamstress last night and she is going to work on it but I'm really quite worried about it. When we brought it home a few weeks ago I just kept it in its bag hung up (well away from kitty claws!) took it out to double check the underskirt and realised it wasn't right :(
It's such a small shop that when she had her final fitting it was a quick on and off and back in the bag, I could really kick myself now. Not going back up till the 7th June so hopefully it'll look better then but it won't be ready till after that, fingers crossed it'll be fine :o

Hope everyone is having a good week xx

    Hope all is well.

One of my "on this day" memories on facebook this morning was taking a kitten my dad had found by the canal. Can't believe it's 3 years ago since Harley fell into our lives.

    I'm confused - first what?

Got home on Tuesday night to find far too many feathers in the kitchen. After a thorough search of the house, nothing was found. Phew! Opened the back door...headless sparrow :( This had better not be a phase one of them (I'm guessing Scrappy) is going through!

Hope everyone is well, it's been mad about here with school stuff etc, June is always so busy but with dd leaving school there are so many things to attend. Prom is next friday but we eventually got the dress back on wed, the skirt isn't quite as 'ballgown' as dd wanted but it's bigger than A line so a compromise, I'm sure it'll be alright on the night!

Mum is getting better by the day, they are playing about with her insulin as her sugars are still a bit high but she's getting there. I must admit that the hot weather is proving to be a bit much for her (and me) but its to cool down today, we might even see a bit of rain woohoo.....not seen any for over 2 weeks, very unusual!

We're out everyday from today till wed between dance shows and award ceremonies, then off thursday, then prom. The four of us are going to see Barry Manilow at the Hydro in Glasgow on tuesday, I like him and hubby said that he would go too, then ds says after hearing one of his songs in the car "I wish I was going with you", hence adding another two tickets and dragging poor dd along as well lol, does that make me a bad mum??

I'm sure the atmosphere alone will be worth it for her - mmhh really trying to justify it aren't I :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Furry babies are just knocked out with this heat and really only go out first thing or later on at night, hope you all still have nice weather and I bet it's never gotten too hot for you Meri :D xx

lol - nope! not too hot for me nonnie. in fact I have a cardi on today as it was only about 22 degrees.

I have to say that Barnes is NOT the most athletic cat in the world! I have the patio table out and he decided to leap off it and go through the trellis on top of the fence to reach 'You' who was out in the garden next door. I had to rescue him when he got stuck trying to get up the wooden panel fence (his head was through the trellis), as he totally misjudged it! I laughed at him, so he sulked upstairs for a couple of hours! He regularly mistimes his leaps onto worktops too!
Silly sod is still besotted with 'You' the cat next door!
Barnes was out in the back garden the other day and I noticed 'You' outside on the lead with Mr Weirdonextdoor. so I said to him 'She is out front Barney', and he immediately walked through the house and jumped on the worktop and gazed out the kitchen window!!!!!!!!!! now tell me he cant speak English! Me and OH looked at each other gobsmacked!
