Lol...I did try and cut back on the bubblewrap! Your very kind but I bet you could do this, it's really not as hard as it looks.
Three of the ladies from my ceramics class are all waiting patiently for their daughters babies of which one is overdue and two are before christmas, so needless to say there are a few more painted just waiting for names to be put on, definitely one boy and the other two are surprises....it's all very exciting on a wednesday night discussing whose bump has dropped :rotfl:
Probably be a while before I'm a gran, well it better be as my kids are only 16 and 12

rofl nonnie! it was enough bubblewrap nonnie - as the postie sent it 'whizzing' through the letter box and it landed with an audible 'thump'! and there is another door between the hallway and the front door and I heard it in the lounge at the back! It was fine though.
No, I couldn't do it nonnie...............not with the accuracy and skill you do.
its great that your classmates are awaiting grandchildren - and they definitely chose a very 'useful' class! that will stand them in good stead for years to come, when it comes to gifts!
oh and being a gran is brilliant - I say its mums reward for bringing up her own kids! you get to have all the fun but then give them back!
my oldest grandson is 16 - heaven forbid he makes me a 'great-grandma' for quite a few years!!!!!!!
speaking of baby Ava - they all visited this evening 'to pick up supper - corned beef pie with my homemade pastry'. and Barnes watched that baby closely, but wouldn't go near her. then GS2 started kicking his softball around and Barnes disappeared upstairs.
Barnes seemed interested in Ava - especially when she, um, broke wind! he nearly got up to investigate but changed his mind! and when she squeeked in protest as her bottle was taken out halfway through feed to wind her..............he seemed to do a double take!

I think the wetwipes may have 'irritated' him - got OH to look for fleas and he couldn't find any - and thankfully Barnes seems to have cleaned his fur himself. on his chest anyway, his chin still feels a bit 'greasy'.

well it wasn't too bad weatherwise this morning - mix of sunshine and cloud and Barnes was out for most of the morning - and I was useless this morning!
my neighbour is a lady in her mid-eighties and a bit deaf. her phone went off about 6.00am and it kept ringing and ringing. going off then immediately ringing again! actually I didn't know it was her phone - I thought it was mine and got up and went downstairs and was actually in the lounge when it stopped. went back to bed and it started again so headed back down and realised - it wasn't my phone!
went back to bed. and the phone kept ringing, stopping, then ringing again. Worried now, I get out of bed and dress ready to go round next door - when I hear her answer it. great! get back undressed and go back to bed. and think - I have until 7.25 before her son rings so I can get a nice snooze in. Did I heck! her phone was going off and she was shouting down it and as soon as she stopped it would ring again! arrrrrrghhhh! this carried on until about 8.00! then it was her DILs morning call at 8.25!
its no good - I am going to have to buy a new phone - one with a ringtone totally unlike neighbours! the trouble is, is that she is very deaf, has her ringtone so loud I think its mine, and its only when I get downstairs I realise it isn't!
Barnes thought I had gone nuts! I was up and down and in and out of bed! So HE was awake and wanting breakfast and fresh water!
but he has been a real sweety today - VERY affectionate, rubbing against me - raising his face and rubbing his against mine. sitting close to me and patting me with his paw.
Atrix came in and we demonstrated Barnes prowess at 'catchthedreamies'! I am a terrible 'girly' thrower - but Barnes is very good at the catch and if we get it right - he catches it in his mouth like a dog! rofl! mostly he grabs it in his paws and sends it into his mouth - or he might catch it but lose it in his 'furry paws'!!!!! lol. he is then looking everywhere for it! its very entertaining!
  • Sounds very cute! You definitely need to post a wee video of Barnes on YouTube, he could be an overnight sensation!! xx

oooh what have we done today? well frankly - not much! Barnes has enjoyed the mild and dry weather today - spending a LOT of time in garden. he has of course been in and out to check I am ok. and I have had a little head rub or been patted by him - honestly - I cant figure out why he 'pats' me? its sort of the pat your maiden aunt gives you when she is being approving but is not the 'cuddly sort'? either on the arm or just above the knee...................strange! Still, its an improvement on the 'full on, whup upside the head' he used to do! I roasted chicken today - and Barnes had no chance of getting at the 'dripping'! he could smell it, so came in the kitchen looking for it - but I had hidden the dish back in the oven until I can make room in fridge later! I may take pity and let him have a spoonsful on his plate later....................but a small spoonful.

its Sunday - so after the duty visit up mums, I came home and must have been so quiet, or Barnes was so deeply asleep on settee back, sat down by him, but he didn't hear me. until I coughed and he shot inches off the settee back. got this 'amazed' look on his face, realised it was me, patted me on the head, gently stroked my cheek and leaned over and licked my forehead!!!!!!!!!!!! roflmao - I think he loves me! or wanted his supper!
Earlier, the grandkids came down for their lunch - Son and Dil and GS2 and Ava came for thiers - just sat down to eat and in comes DD, SIL, GS1 and GD1! bit of a full house! luckily, DD said 'don't worry - We've eaten! which doesn't stop GS1 helping himself to the leftovers in the kitchen! (Beef Cobbler with mash, carrots, cauli and peas and sweetcorn), Teenager - has hollow legs!
Barnes decides he is better off upstairs - so goes to hide. don't blame him......................half hour later I want to hide too! the kids are all on 'highs'! its chaos! roflmao - OH is getting redder and redder in the face and we breathe a sigh of relief when they depart!
we take the grandgirls back home except for the youngest who wants to go up grans - but only because she knows GS2 will be there - and she loves him. she is a few months younger and bosses him about something awful. but she has always said she is going to marry him - after she has had a few boyfriends!!!!!!!!!! she is a little star!

Well, I am struggling find anything of interest to say tonight! its been a very ordinary sort of day! even I was bored!
but one thing - after not wanting to go out ALL afternoon - after it gets dark Barnes desperately wants to go out! kept going to patio door and yowling. Nope - no OUT after dark! sorry Barnes, but with all the petnapping going on - it aint safe! and you have NEVER been let out after dark - so why tonight?
DIL is fine - Ava is now keeping her milk down - after impressive displays of projectile vomiting! roflmao - Son really cant handle people being sick - he throws up in sympathy! you know that Atrix! if you or dd was sick - I used to run for the bowl and put it by DS1! but he has just 'ecked' a bit.................thankfully!

Glad dil is on the mend and lol to the sympathy vomit, I'm afraid a wiff and I'm almost joining the party! If the kids were ever sick I deal with said child post vomit and hubby gets the mess to deal with and generally I'm still covering my nose just in case :p
  • Maybe Barnes hasn't quite got the concept of less daytime hours so less out. Good rule though. :D

I'm going to miss my daily Barnes updates, I'm off overseas for us few months with patchy internet access. Hope Ava continues to thrive :)
