Grandcat having extended 'sleepover'!

Atrix brought C and GA down for lunch - the girls gave Barnes his G&T - which he loved. C played 'catchthedreamie' with him. Barnes forgave Atrix for whatever transgression it was?????????? had a little cuddle with him.
we were having lunch when Barnes decided to take advantage of the kitchen window being left slightly open (its at front of the house - and he knows he is not allowed out there). I left my dinner and went out and caught him before he got into the street. lifting him up - I looked into his face and said 'BAD CAT', took him back in the house and put him down. then went back to my dinner. Atrix meanwhile had finished his, and picking Barnes up, quietly said to me 'Mum, you have really upset Barney, he is crying'. !!!!!!! sure enough, huge tears were rolling down his face!
Do cats cry? he is certainly upset with me, I picked him up earlier and he struggled to get down! he has refused his supper and been a right 'sod' all night! he has scratched the hall carpet, he has sat and 'glared' at me, he has ignored OH, I even cut up chunks of our leftover roast chicken for him, a rare treat (which he has ignored).......................I dread to think what revenge he is plotting!
I am thinking of borrowing a face mask off OH - just in case he is thinking of 'sneezing in my face' during the night! or playing 'cats cradle' with my hair? in which case my hair is getting tied in a plait!0 -
Hee hee it's worse than a moody child but way funnier!
Seen one of my cats crying once but it was after a dog nearly attacked her and I think it was pure fear
Hopefully you'll be back in the good books soon xx0 -
Never known any of my cats to cry tears.
Mine are spending less and less time outside now the weather's turned colder. Even Casper is braving coming into the kitchen when Hubby's there, virtually unheard of! I've placed 3 different hiding cat beds under the stairs and instructed Hubby not to look under so Casper will stay in.
You'd think after 9 years, he'd have gotten used to Hubby0 -
I don't think he is 100%happy with me yet - he only allows about 10 seconds of 'cuddles', and he is struggling to get down. Turns his face away from me too - yet he used to be happy to get 'kisses' rained on his face! he HAS gone on settee back to supervise my knitting - but if I reach up to stroke him he gets up, turns around and faces the other way! He is having a SULK! he was hungry I think, so he ate his lunch - but has rejected his supper with a swish of his tail and an indignant sneeze! oh dear, and it was formerly a favourite - Applaws chicken with pumpkin!
now what do I do? I need to do a Barney shop and totally flummoxed at what to buy? I like to save money and buy the large packs - but last month half of it was donated to Atrix's cats and the ones I had left it seems that he is rejecting now (just being arrrrsey)!
Serves him right if I buy cans of Supermarket own brand!
but - we did have a lovely G&T session - he enjoyed it and purred like mad all the way through. then we ended with catchthedreamiesandbitsoftreatsticks! I thought I was forgiven because he rubbed up against me - I was wrong! so wrong! I picked him up for our usual cuddle and he jumped straight out of my hands! OHKAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
at least he has stopped ignoring OH - but he made a point of going and lapsitting on OHs lap right in front of me! dammit, he usually does that while I am here on puter...............tonight he leapt off settee back and onto OHs lap while I was sat there watching the news and discussing the day with OH!
It seems I have a lot more grovelling to do!0 -
I think I am forgiven...............at least he has come up to me and had cuddles. and let me kiss him. though I am sure I heard him sigh resignedly.
but its Tuesday! grandgirls day! I was giving him his G&T when they came in. Early because school is on 'half term'. finished the G part and they had fun lobbing him his 'Treats'! for him to catch.
K wanted to watch TV and lay on the floor - so Barnes rubbed himself UP one side of her, stepped delicately over her head and rubbed DOWN the other side! lol.
they all crafted for a while (making glittery Pine Cones) and ate, um, and ate some more! I forgot to give them their pineapple to take home Atrix - if you could pop in and pick it up please? they are all 'Fruit Crazy'. no worries there about eating 5 a day!
K got bored and went home early - but C and GA stayed longer. Barnes doesn't seem interested in his supper yet - and I used one of his Rejects, but mixed it with some Pate, I wonder if he will like that?
he is comfortable on the cushions watching TV with OH right now.0 -
barnes forgiven me - at long last! in fact he was more than usually affectionate today. jeez - a three day 'sulk'! still, he has a long way to go to beat OH - that man can sulk for months! lol.
no grandkids at all today - I am even missing GS2, since his mum started maternity leave I have hardly seen him. Barnes now seems to have accepted that he doesn't have to wake me up at sparrowfart.
not that he was all that reliable as an alarm clock before...........
weather has been a bit 'damp' today - not chucking it down but it hasn't really dried up and drizzled off and on. Barnes seems to be getting used to the fact it isn't summer anymore - he WILL go out if it isn't actually raining. but watching him pick his way over the puddles on the decking is quite amusing. But, he quite likes to wipe his paws on me - the first thing he does is come and put his paws on my legs then walk up the arm of the settee onto his towel - when normally he jumps on the other end of the settee to get to his 'snooze spot'.
he is getting very interested in my knitting - he has tried to bite the ends of the needles, bat them with his paw and when he is gently pushed away tries to play with the wool instead!
Oh and he wasn't fooled by my mixing his rejected food with some lovely pate..............he left it. he loves a bit of pate licked off my finger! I haven't been Barney shopping yet as I simply don't know what brand to get.0 -
Just saying.. there is not a SINGLE PHOTO O PAGE 52 OF THIS THREAD0

Hi gettingready, if your talking about photos of Barnes....Meritaten posted them a while back xx0
-
hi gettingready! nice to see you! hi nonnie!
how weird you should say about pics - I was only thinking today that I should post some more pics of Barnes on here. but, as soon as he spots the camera he 'poses and smiles' - and I want pics of him with his amazing eyes OPEN! the grandgirls will be here tomorrow, so hopefully, I can take some sneaky pics when he isn't aware of me. then Atrix will have to teach me how to upload them again............ cos Ive forgotten! I used to love doing stuff like that - but Windows 8 is annoying me so much I don't bother!
he has been lovely today - cwtched up beside me, or behind me on settee back. He had a few brief sojourns around garden gazing hopefully up for a glimpse of 'You'. she must have been occupied elsewhere though, as he was soon making his way indoors! looking rather disappointed.
last year at Halloween he kept running to the door when kids knocked (its his job to 'meet and greet' visitors), and he seemed very puzzled I wasn't letting them in - lol, wonder if he will be the same tomorrow?0 -
grandgirls kept me so busy I didn't even have time to grab the camera! I must get the card for the tablet, that way he will think I am on youtube or something.
he has got Halloween sussed now - he hasn't bothered running to the door once this evening - then got caught out when it was GS2 and he came in! lol - Barnes looked quite startled and then guilty! rofl. but I think he has missed him too - he kept going up to him for strokes. and to my DIL too - who seems to have fallen for him.
I missed my favourite part - the real littlies! I absolutely had to go shopping and couldn't go until about 5, didn't get back til gone 6. so I have a lot of leftover sweets! no matter - the grandkids will have those during sleepovers.
I also didn't have time to do a Barney shop, so picked up a box of Aldi premium pouches, and dammit, he wolfed the chicken one down! I could hear him eating it - and normally he is rather 'dainty' in his table manners.0
