Thanks nonnie and geminilady! I am feeling much better today!

if it isn't TMI, I ordered 'beef with mushrooms and chips' and dished it out along with OHs usual, Special chow mien, which tbh is a lovely dish.
then settled down with it on a tray to watch Strictly, I had a mouthful and thought 'this is a bit strange - but the sauce was a bit watery' a couple more mouthfuls and I had this ball of 'jel' in my mouth - yeeeuchh. took a close look at my meal and could see what happened. chef had poured the thickener of cornflour and water into the hot oil and then added water - instead of the other way round (yes, I do KNOW how to make it - I just like someone else to make it for me on Saturday nights). so it had a ball of jelly like stuff which had been partly stirred in. my tummy rebelled and I couldn't eat it - OH had already scoffed his - and scraped all the jell off and finished mine too! I tried to eat my chips but they were both 'dry' and 'greasy' at the same time! I gave up! felt nauseous for hours! and still feel a bit sick thinking about it!

the girls came down for lunch and GA did some lovely artwork with my oil pastels and a leaf from the garden! bless her, she did a lovely 'stained glass window' with my promarkers too. of course, we had squabbles with the twins over who was going to make the gravy today............K won because I tossed a coin and its Cs turn next sunday!
Barnes of course remained aloof to this - he just enjoyed the frequent strokes and the girls telling him how gorgeous he is. they did his G&T and I remembered to feed him his lunch!
Its so windy here today, and he isn't used it, that I thought he was going to get blown off the decking! so did he, as he came up to the French Doors yowling his head off to come in! but, while it was sunny he wanted out again - and in again, out again - I was quite relieved when it started to rain!
let him out when I came home, but, it was too cold and windy for him, he glanced up at next door ladyloves window - but didn't even hang around to serenade her. a quick perimeter check and he was back in!
Wonder how he is going to cope with a South Wales Valleys Winter? it can be 5 degrees or more colder up here in the valleys than in the capital Cardiff. That will be interesting wont it?

I haven't forgotten about the Christmas tree Nonnie - I still cant make up my mind - and I want OH to go up in attic and check the colours on the tree baubles - I don't trust my memory to ensure I have them all right!
will let you know soon ok?

So glad your feeling better and a big yuck to the ball of jelly!

Very windy here also, cats desperate to get out but my wee girl would have gotten blown away, so cue 2 very bored cats running up and down stairs playing tig and moaning very loudly about being stuck in lol

No problem about the tree there's no rush and I know what you mean about double checking colours, every year when all my boxes of ceramics come down from the loft I get a surprise as guaranteed I've forgotten something that I've painted or the colours I've used...it's great fun:p

OH back in work this week after a week off! hurrah! but, he is 'on call' 24/7 til next Monday morning! boooo
Barnes now has this 'on call' sussed - at first he was puzzled as to why OH was in and out at all hours - now he doesn't seem bothered at all - except to complain if OH isn't in to watch TV with him. I have to go pile up cushions for him and leave the TV on - otherwise he 'bugs' me while I am on 'puter!

oh for gawds sake - now its the little tins of 'Seriously Good' Applaws Lookalikey he is rejecting!!!!!!!!!! possibly, he has figured out its PAH own brand! and it isn't good enough for him! he is getting a right fussy bu99er! Atrix - more 'treats' for your cats! pick them up when you drop the girls off tomorrow? if he isn't careful I may forcefeed him Supermarket 'Own Brand'! (just joking)!

Had GS2 for a few hours this afternoon and Barnes ended up hiding under the dining table - and I felt like joining him! GS2 was literally 'bouncing off the walls and furniture'! my God - he was really Hyper - no wonder his parents didn't want to take him shopping!
Barnes thought it fun when GS2 started throwing all Barnes toys around, then shining his laser light everywhere, but quickly seemed to get annoyed that he wasn't actually being invited to 'play'!
I think that was the longest 3 hours I have endured in a long time!
Barnes is not happy with the weather - just wait til ex-Hurricane Gonzalo comes along later tonight! he doesn't like rain, or hail or high winds.......................not really suited to Wales is he?

Atrix - forgot to give you the little tins of food (Barney rejects) for your cats! never mind - pick them up next time you come down.

What a funny day - VERY blustery and it has caused Barnes some angst! nice and sunny and he goes out, and the wind dam near takes him off his paws! one particularly strong gust caught him as he was coming back in and he FLEW through the French door and ran straight through and up the stairs in a panic! nope, he doesn't like the wind up his, um, rear end! AND YES Two minutes later and it was raining hard!
the next couple of times he ventured out - he was extremely cautious, kept to the perimeter and seemed to stop and 'feel' the air before running across the decking wailing to come in! lol, I can add 'High Wind' now to his list of adverse weather conditions. Hail is still Barney Enemy Number 1, I think.

I caught him sitting on - well, curled up on - OHs lap AGAIN earlier! he never curls up on my lap! he sure knows who to suck up to! Not the person who feeds him, grooms him, plays with him and gives him all those lovely treats (and cleans out his litter trays). oh no, that Honour goes to OH!
Tuesday - Grandgirls day! Barnes does enjoy seeing them - but, they wanted to tell me something very badly and ignored him............... so he squeeked loudly at them! luckily the twins were laying on the floor later watching TV so he got loads of lovely (for him) face rubs in! while GA and I made cakes!

Barnes has spent most of the day on the settee back supervising my knitting. it was going so well ...............but the other day I finished a matinee coat and stitched it up and knitted the collar then realised I had forgotten to do the button and buttonhole bands on the 'skirt' of it!!!! DOH!!! (the top part had the button band and the buttonhole bit knitted in one piece). I shall have to find my crochet hook and do a very thin border on the skirt part now - that SHOULD work! cos I sure as heck aint undoing it!

The weather has been dry, so Barnes has had a few trips into the garden. and the wind has dropped! so he judged it safe to walk across the decking and not in the lee of the fences.

I nearly choked him today!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we were playing 'catchthedreamie' and he had his mouth wide open ready to stuff the dreamie in - and I lobbed it straight in his mouth! it went down his throat I think, cos he coughed and sputtered and made those 'hairball' sounds. and I LAUGHED at him again! Perhaps that is why he sits on OHs lap and not mine? honestly I had to grovel before he forgave me! I even gave him another 'treat stick'!

Atrix popped in today - and Barnes had a bit of 'attitude' with him for some reason - possibly, he was just in a moody cos the weather wasn't to his liking. anyway, he certainly wasn't going to Atrix for his usual 'cuddle'! Any comments Atrix?

so we did his G&T and played 'catchthedreamie', Barnes is improving, he gets most of them now -lol, but he doesn't seem to realise when he catches them in his paw - they seem to stick to it, and he can be looking all round him for them! and he still opens his gob wide when I throw them. (tbh, my aim isn't that good).

I do hope your cats enjoy the 'treats' luv - I mean those dam things are nearly as expensive as the Applaws ones and I cant see the difference. Barnes can tho. I am in two minds about getting more of the Applaws ones - he is getting so 'capricious' lately he may reject those too - out of sheer spite!
after Atrix left he dug out a pingpong ball from his toy basket and I gathered the rest up and assumed he wanted to play 'pingponguppastairs' - he sat with me at the bottom of the stairs and I started throwing them up the stairs...............and he just sat there..........then walked away and went on settee back for his nap.
I think he learned a few more swear words.

Well, he fished out a ping pong ball this morning - and batted it into the hall and looked expectantly up the stairs, so, I threw it for him and he flew up after it - caught it and batted it back down so hard it hit the light fitting and ricocheted off, never to be seen again I think! I went and got the rest of them and we played 'pingponguppastairs' for a while.
I realised earlier that the 'ha ha - that fooled you' game of 'pingponguppastairs', was probably Barnes getting revenge for my laughing at him when he tumbled down a few stairs.

He also hid behind my monitor earlier when I was in the kitchen - and he scares the '!!!!!!' out of me when he raises his head and his eyes glow in the dark void behind the desk! lol. Cat joke I think!

Still, I did get some nice loving head rubs this afternoon - but suspect that was because I had a cup of coffee. He loves coffee! I dare not put my mug on the floor, because if its on the floor ITS BARNEYS!. and he will drink it! All of it! its strange, because he finds ordinary cat bowls too small to drink from and sits there looking unhappy..............yet he can get his head down a mug right to the bottom!

Barnes didn't get his G&T on time today - he wasn't best pleased! the reason being that OH was out on a call this morning, and I desperately needed to go grocery shopping. as he had just a short 'window' of time I had to go shopping then! at least I had time to put Barnes lunch down for him! and I gave him extra dreamies to make up for the fact that G&T was late!

Barnes thought summer had returned as the sun was blazing down - but two minutes outside convinced him that it hadn't. he returned to the warmth of his towel on the settee back and didn't budge much after that. lol
(The towel on the settee back is because Barnes tends to 'dribble' in his sleep and the brown leather settee bleeds the colour onto him)
