Thank you for the lovely reminders.
I've hovered upstairs and put away the sainsburys delivery along with washing up. Quite frankly my place is looking better than it has in weeks.
Thanks to you lovely people. x0 -
Roxy: I can only echo what everyone else is saying. If I spend 30 minutes nibbling at my two heaps (each) today, I think I'll have done well. Just be really happy that you're not just sitting in a sweaty chair staring at it all and feeling depressed. You are actually doing it, and the one day you suddenly realise that the change is massive, even though you've only done a tiny bit at a time.
Blue CS shoulder bag that is jolly useful, which got covered in printer ink from an 'empty' ink cartridge yesterday is twirling in the WM on a cold wash. I do wish the metal bits on the handle would stop knocking on the glass ....
New printer ordered, and new printer cartridges from old printer will be credited to my account and collected when they deliver the new one.
Thanks Bonnie for the suggestion about Mrs Dog's vet bill. The estimate was £250, the vet phoned once she'd anaesthetised the dog this morning and said her mouth was much worse than anticipated, so it would probably be closer to £500. She phoned about half an hour ago to say that if she'd charged the actual time it took, it would have been £900! Apparently poor Mrs Dog has been coping with an infection that's gone right into the jaw bone, and poor vet had to get someone else to pull the last of the truly terrible teeth because her arm had given up. (The teeth were impacted, or some such technical term, but I know what she meant.) The practice has given me a £200 discount, because they're lovely, and the vet is going to give me a copy of her notes so I can back up the request to the rescue people. I did, when I adopted her, ask if they would be willing to contribute to treating any significant health problems that showed up soon after adoption, which I would regard as the first three months, so I can but ask. Vet says Mrs Dog's teeth and jaw will always give her some discomfort because her mouth was such a mess. Poor Mrs Dog and she is so sweet-natured.Better is good enough.0 -

Try on school uniform Squeak refusing to take hers off now
Actually, while folk have been talking about getting other people in the family to help with the cleaning, any advice on getting OH to do a wee bit more?
He just doesn't see the cleaning as important, and can quite happily ignore mess that grates on me, which I understand, he's far from the only person that can do that, and I know he doesn't mean to!
I'm just not sure on how to encourage him to do a little every day ( or even a few days a week) with me- when he goes on a cleaning spree he works like the wind, and gets lots done, but it's just not regular enough to keep the house niceAnd he tells me off for spending too much time doing the cleaning and tiring myself out!

Talking of families helping out - Mr LW tells a tale of when he and his sisters were young; his Dad had had a heart attack, his Mum wasn't in good health (transpired later she had a cyst in her brain, which affected her memory), so the formidable Auntie D was brought in to help look after the three children. Mr LW (the eldest) and DSis1 were good, and did what was asked of them, but DSis2 (the youngest, and decidedly spoilt) thought she was exempt. Til Auntie D informed her she was a "wiggly worm" and a "wumpy-jack" and to jolly well get on with her chores or she'd be given double to do!:rotfl:
AAARRRRGGGHHHH - I have an incursion of flying ants (no, I don't mean they're helping with the housework - not that sort of Flying) in the spare room.:(:(:(:(:( Mr LW has been informed he's to pick up some ant powder on the way home, as we've run out. I've Raided them as a stopgap, and disposed of numerous corpses; but..... well, just YUCK!!:(If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW.. it is only for nursery as she is only just 3. Uniform just makes mornings easier.

Piggers Intellectually I know she's 3 years old, but it only seems a few months since you were expecting her, and then Dot seemed to come on the scene straight after..... Lol, I must just be getting old!:rotfl:
I dare say if I clapped eyes on a policeman I'd wonder how long he'd been out of nappies......:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Honey Bear - I think you are totally within your rights to go back to the charity and ask for a contribution to mrs Dog's vet bills...
boiler in and finished. Sadly the washing machine had to be moved for the boiler man and now it won't spin or rinse...... I am not a happy bunny!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Afternoon
reporting back in....been flying non stop outside of my pit due to sheer anger (nothing like a mad woman to get cleaning done!)
DD3 has borrowed some noise cancelling headphone from her friend while she is on holiday abroad, which I cannot wait to return. I told her she is not to wear them exclusively from the second she wakes up.
While flying in my ensuite (more of that in a mo) DS got very sneaky and climbed up into the kitchen cupboards got his strawberry spread and spread it with his hands all over the NEW DR carpet, and then got a litre brick of milk took it into LR and used it to paint his @qu@doodle on the NEW sofa which in turn all leaked through....so DD3 watching him was beyond useless and listening out for him was positively destructive, so I have flown as follows:
Ensuite shower cubicle scrubbed
Ensuite window and sill washed on inside only
floordrobe cleared into basket
empty bottles gathered for recycling
DR carpet washed by hand and hoovered
DR table cleared of all gubbins
Offending tub of strawberry spread has been binned, even though half full, ( i refuse to buy any more now until this lesson has truly sunk in)
LR settee seat cushion washed and dried by hand
all settee seat and back cushions and bases hoovered with DS help
ALL LR floor gibble removed and correctly rehomed/binned as appropriate
DD1 computer gubbins all removed off coffee table
All 3 coffee tables washed and moved back to proper position hiding 3 toy baskets
Kitchen floor hoovered
Hallway hoovered
All under the stairs floor gibble removed.....I have put back I want to keep....big mountain of sorting for the young Skints.....if its not sorted by bed time it's for the bin
Found the action end of my steam mop, so there will be more flying later
DD2 has recovered from her celebratory bender and realised how little time is left before she has to go, and wants to sort out her packing for Uni, so more flying and binning may be a happy coincidence on this one.
I may divert via the chip shop for a quick pick me up....everyone has been scoffing and the kitchen looks like a bomb site, and I don't want to cook in it ( I doubt there is a clean pan left in there from the evidence of DD3 creations left strewn around)
Right, I will report back in laterThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Kidlets just having dinner, we went out shopping this morning, got DS a track suit top, both got undies and me a new top too! Somehow we ended up in morrisons cafe
DS has eaten loads today.
Got some cake decorating stuff and we iced an upside down ice cream cone then covered in 100s and 1000s to see if they would work as turrets for a castle, and managed to make a little model peppa pig out of coloured ready to roll icingits not great, but was only a trial and the kids think its hilarious.
DD wants a princess peppa cake for her birthday party so my plan was a square cake topped with a round one, with 4 upturned decorated cones in the corners, and a peppa pig with a crown on. I have loads of white ready to roll and some wafer flowers (reduced :money:) so we can make it pretty.
Another wash done, the ironing pile is mounting up so will make a start on that in the morning.
We dropped the shopping off at home, put a chook in the oven then went out to the park. Was supposed to rain here today but been glorious.
Other than that, I've kept on top of the kitchen but the rest of the house is coated in a fine layer of toys...Bossymoo

Slept reasonably well today apart from asbo cat loudly announcing her presence at mid dady. Transpires that she has stolen a fish from somewhere
. Have done very little tidying but am going to jump up and do a little more now. Off to work shortly. See you tomorrow.
