Well.. DD3 has left home until Sunday, I'm up.. in the middle of making a cuppa. DW emptied and reloaded.. mainly pans/oven trays so very little effort. TD on with the last bits of the baby's washing in.

I cannot believe the baby is a week old already :( I really want her to stay like this for a bit.. I had to TELL OH yesterday he doesn't need to wait to be offered a cuddle with her he can just pick her up or take her after a feed I won't tell him off!

2 small pesties just woke up so I'll go feed them and wipe over the worksurfaces and sort a mountain of stuff for the boys to drop at chazzer.

    Todailies

Try on school uniform Squeak refusing to take hers off now
    Try on winter coats
Buy school shoes .. and drop Moomins in for raise to be added.
    Name school uniform
Make appt to register small size.. I work well to a deadline and we have got our list down to 2 names and I am asking the children their opinions.. currently 6 : 2 .. so we are using 1 name today to see if we like it and if we don't we'll try the other one tomorrow!
    DW
    TD
    WM
Laundry folded and away.. this will take AGES as I have 3 baskets of newborn/0-3 sized stuff
AT LEAST 4 binbag of gubbins to the chazzer.. I WILL empty this pit!!
    Photo appointment to be made
    Drs appts to be made
    dentist appts to be made
    Tesco delivery 12-1pm

Breakfast first for 2 small tiddlypeeps.

Took us 4 days to choose youngests name but my excuse is that we were told he was a girl....though I hadn't picked a girls name by the birth either :rotfl:

My advice would be once a day give everyone a job to do to help...good luck with that :rotfl: works with my 4 and 6 year old though

I've tried that one before! Ages range from almost 16 to 8, the youngest 2 (DS1 and DS2, 11 and 8) are actually pretty helpful, its the teenagers who are nightmares. DSD offered to dust a couple of weeks ago, then announced she wanted TWENTY POUNDS in payment!! When OH told her to jog on, she had a massive strop which lasted two days.

TBH, I am a bit of a control freak and like things done "my way" (by that I mean properly, not half @ssed!) so it just irritates me having to watch them dust round things or not move the coffee table when they vacuum.

I'm my own worst enemy and I deserve no sympathy :rotfl:

Thus far I have managed to throw 83 tons of make up at my face in an attempt to feel better and stuffed the WM. That's it.

Off to clean someone else's house now…

Lol bribery works wonders in this house. They have a book they picked out and will get it if they help clean today. List is 2 beds to change, Hoover upstairs and all windows need cleaning on top of basics. I'm needing to find a pet shop local to us that sells fish.

Pigpen, it's lovely to hear you sounding more cheerful now that the babe has arrived. Enjoy!!! - and I hope you get the name sorted before the appointment comes round ;)

Middle name is sorted it is me that is faffing over the first name.. The one I and most of the children like OH doesn't but the one he likes I'm not sure about, I do like it, I just don't know if it 'fits'

I actually didn't realise how awful I felt until after she arrived and I felt so much better.. this was without my kidneys failing or any actual illness too!!
Took us 4 days to choose youngests name but my excuse is that we were told he was a girl....though I hadn't picked a girls name by the birth either :rotfl:

DD1 was a boy apparently.. and she was 3 hours old before she had a name.. but girl number 1 is SO much easier to name than girl number 8!!

Fizz.. It took me a while but these have no option but to help out.. 1 person cannot physically tidy after a whole family, it is unfair and demoralising.. we have a few rules in here (Mine are 17, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 3 and 2.. and the week old baby who doesn't really count ;) )

Rule 1.. you do not do housework for payment and if they want to share your home they share the workload that comes with it.. and if they want paying for it you will start billing them for your services too.
Rule 2.. IF they complain they get another job until they can complete one without whining. If jobs are not completed to my specifications they get to redo them!!
Rule 3.. they don't go out until said tasks are complete.
Rule 4.. Noone is special or exempt unless they have profound disabilities and cannot chip in.

    Morning all x
Schools back today so I will get some work done in peace today. Can't believe DS2 is in 3rd year and my baby girl is in primary 5 ! How did that happen?
on the agenda is to get my LR and scullery cleared and get some washing done.
But first a cuppa and then I will get started. Anyone want one while I'm making?

Yes please, tea - white but no sugar. I just went to make one for myself and found that we have run completely out of milk. I need to go to the local post office and then the shops for a quick top-up, but OH has gone back to sleep on the sofa and we are expecting the bathroom delivery, so I'll have to stay in. He obviously wore himself out yesterday with the painting

    Updating my list:

    - [STRIKE]Stuff and label 14 envelopes[/STRIKE] and post them - that will mean the demise of a very long-lived cane toad
    - Call at local Co0p for bread, butter, milk
    - Bathroom delivery coming
    - Kitchen fitter coming (to fit missing doors and extra shelves)
[STRIKE]- Windows man coming for his money[/STRIKE]
    - Warranty registrations
    [STRIKE]- Order lights and mirrors[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]Dust and[/STRIKE] hoover upstairs
    - Help DH pin hardboard over fibreglass wall insulation in new loft storage area - must remember to put on face mask and gloves
    - Write big shopping list for tomorrow

    A bit of progress... :)
