What is this, anyone? There's no link.

Perhaps the wording in the first post should be changed slightly... "Toots list (= your own list of things to do) - this is a master list of absolutely everything YOU want to get done in YOUR house and garden and YOUR life in general. Go through each room and note everything. This is a long term list - some things could take you up to a year!"
    HTH

Sorry I've been MIA for a couple of days. Wednesday ended up as another horse piddle visit (physio on my shoulder - which made it hurt even more) and shopping day (looking for tiles for the kitchen and bathroom), as well as babysitting DGS3 for the evening :j while DS2 and his wife went out for a slap-up meal. Just as we have settled down and begun to enjoy seeing them more frequently, next week they are moving an extra hour's drive away from us :( but we have already booked a one-night mini-break with them in October to coincide with a concert by Iona :) and will have to make a big effort to visit them once a month.

Then yesterday was almost a wash-out, as I was still in pain, had another migraine, and was feeling utterly dejected and frustrated at not being able to do any decorating myself or motivate DH to get on with it. He finally got moving and put the first coat of paint on rest the downstairs bedroom :A so once he's finished the second coat we shall be able to stack all the packing cases in there and clear and strip the lounge. I want my house back! We do at least have a working loo upstairs now ;)

On a brighter note (excuse the pun), DGS1 - just 5 - rang us on Wednesday morning to play his new cornet to us  He can already get more notes out of it than I ever managed on the French horn that I had for 2 terms when I was 15 :D

    [STRIKE]Flying[/STRIKE] Fluttering today:

    - Stuff and label 14 envelopes and post them - that will mean the demise of a very long-lived cane toad :o
    - Bathroom delivery coming
    - Kitchen fitter coming (to fit missing doors and extra shelves)
    - Warranty registrations
    - Order lights and mirrors
    - Dust and hoover upstairs
    - Help DH pin hardboard over fibreglass wall insulation in new loft storage area - must remember to put on face mask and gloves
    - Write food shopping list for tomorrow

Well done to all you Flykids out there who've been getting (or are about to get) your exam results - your effort and commitment really shines through. If you haven't quite got the grades you wanted this time, don't be discouraged. Learning is like flying: it's never-ending, but the more you do, the better you get at it. Baby steps!

My catchup list, deleted what I'll never get around to this week...

Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Extra Mission
make a list of things to use up this week
Find 10 things to throw/give away

Tuesday - Living Room and study.
    Extra Mission:
sort your own stationery, think about planner/diary for next year if you like a 16 month one

    Wednesday - Bathroom/downstairs toilet/Hall, Stairs, Landing.
Test your smoke alarms, hoover them out inside

    Thursday - Choose a bedroom.
Remove and wash bed linen and duvet covers.

    Friday Rooms of Dooms
Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
The cupboard/drawer/pile you have been meaning to deal with forever, the time has come to tackle it!

So today I will do kids beds, continue laundry clearing, go shopping, list contents of fridge and freezer, and try to clear some tat off the garage counter. Cases need to go up in loft, too.

I am thinking of having my c0nservatory roof tiled, anyone had this done? I hear conflicting advice about planning permission, and the council website is unclear. I'm going to call, but would be great if anyone has any advice or pointers :)

    Morning all :)

Yesterday was another write off, got back from paid work feeling as though I'd been kicked in the back of my neck which turned into a full blown migraine :( Unusual as they tend to start behind my left eye or in my teeth so I didn't see it coming and consequently didn't medicate myself properly to begin with. OH was good and washed up after a lazy dinner so at least I don't have to worry about chipping off welded-on burrito from the plates this morning.

Really tired but was woken by the bin men  so once I've had coffee and a cheeky ciggie I'm getting up, see what little I can achieve before paid work at 9.15. Immediately after, peace will be shattered as I'm collecting DSS and DSD, then DD, DS1 and DS2 are back from their dad's on Sunday.

It has been so easy to keep on top if the dailies while the kids have been away and it's just been the two of us, and the amount of deep cleaning I've achieved has been a proper billy bonus. What are the chances I can keep it up when there's seven of us here for the next fortnight? Place your bets now!

Morning all, first day off since Tuesday so hoping to catch up a little, if only with the basics. OH has job interview today, so hoping it goes well but relieved it all over. Meeting friends with babies this afternoon, which really looking forward to :).

    Kitchen and Dining Room
    mop the floor
Clean the sink and slush the drain out erm, how do you slush a drain out?
    Clean the windows
    Wipe the door handles
    Clean the extractor fan/filter change?
Wipe the oven kn@bs, underneath too if you can
Defrost the freezer and make a list of things to use up this week

    Living Room and study
Tidy up, put things away, straighten those piles - there better already
    Hoover the floors
    Dust electricals, screens etc
    Do one bit of paperwork
    Wipe the skirtings/lightshades and bulbs
Time to deal with something else on your desk or sort out the drawers

    Bathroom/downstairs toilet/Hall, Stairs, Landing
Clean the toilets and sinks, shine those taps
Clear the floors and hoover and mop them, right into the manky corners
Test your smoke alarms, hoover them out inside
Clean the bath and/or shower - descale the head if required
    Shine those mirrors and windows
Who needs new toothbrushes/cotton wool/sponges etc?

    Choose a bedroom
Remove and wash bed linen and duvet covers.
Clear and clean the bedside table/dressing table
    Hoover the floor
What's lurking under the bed, drag it all out, hoover right to the back. Found any treasurers or trash?
Sort any piles of magazines, catalogues etc, any you can pass on or recycle?
Get out winter boots/shoes do they need reheeling/polishing/replacing?[/COLOR]

    Friday Rooms of Dooms
Eat a frog or at least take a big bite from it
Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
    Vacuum the floor
    Clean the window
The cupboard/drawer/pile you have been meaning to deal with forever, the time has come to tackle it!
Not got a pile, then your surfaces should be nice and clear for a good dusting.

Well.. DD3 has left home until Sunday, I'm up.. in the middle of making a cuppa. DW emptied and reloaded.. mainly pans/oven trays so very little effort. TD on with the last bits of the baby's washing in.

    Morning all

Raining and due all day I think, that may stop me walking with my friend later but there is always tea to be drank. On that note one of my oldest friends coming around this morning.

I shall be working on the list and annoying little froglets today. Can't believe DS1 will be home on Monday and we are off to France next week, summer has gone so quickly.

Pigpen, it's lovely to hear you sounding more cheerful now that the babe has arrived. Enjoy!!! - and I hope you get the name sorted before the appointment comes round ;)
  • Good morning :D

I was up early (makes a change). Washing up done, DW on, kitchen wiped down, dog fed, emails/bank accounts checked, DR given quick tidy round & guitars removed to shed. I am working today. I was planning to go out somewhere, but rain is forecast all day, so I think it will be cake baking, arts & crafts & a bit of wii time for the girls on top of them getting out every single toy I own, of course!

DH still hasn't heard about whether he got the job he had an interview for. It is only 8 hours a week (postie), but it is still more than he has now! He no longer gets JSA, so every little helps.

Just waiting for the girlies to arrive now :)

My advice would be once a day give everyone a job to do to help...good luck with that :rotfl: works with my 4 and 6 year old though
