What were they planning? And please tell me that staring at your house thing is an exageration  yikes!

They want to put a large front porch on with a balcony above and half the road objected. They have already replaced the upstairs window with a door...

And no - I'm not kidding about the staring - they would stop, stare and then drive off after 5 minutes - it really freaked the youngest if she was alone.

This time 10 of us objected in writing. And the council turned it down. But I am worried about retaliation (they are not nice people - and this is the 4th application that has been turned down) - my hope is that there is safety in numbers... Last time some neighbours had some very nasty run-ins with them..

    Morning all

Watching the athletics this morning as friend's daughter is running in the 200m

Need to get back to my frog. Going out at 10:30 to drive DS2 to get his results and then later the hung for school shoes will continue.

    Morning!

I'm still in bed, kids still in bed, :T first good nights sleep in a fortnight :D with no little people scratching me with their toenails :p

Have tried to call t@x credits to notify a change in childcare, went through 3 min of menus and garbage only to be told they can't answer and be cut off! Huh?

Anyway, today is laundry day for me, and food sorting day. We had a bit of time playing in garden at tea time last night and have a bowlful of carrots and spuds dug up, which need cleaning and prepping. We have one spaghetti squash between 3 plants, and about 8 apples on the entire tree. Methinks its having a good trim this year...

Inlaws visiting later - if its not raining FIL will have gone golfing, if not they will be here earlier.

Wonder how long kids will sleep for...

Hello and welcome to the new starters, hope you're enjoying the thread and its helping you get things under control!

  • Good morning :D
I am still in bed posting from my phone, so early apologies for typos!
DD2 gets her results today. I wonder how long it will take her to tell me!!
She has no plans next year  so she is not 'depending' on them.

DH is walking the dog, then hopefully staining my 'aunty's' new summer house, weather permitting. She is insisting on paying him as she would be paying someone.
I need to get out of bed & DO something. Need to shower & wash hair, do some food shopping (if i have the car) & get some things crossed of a list!!
    Ok - here goes!!

Well, not sure how much I'll get done today, I appear to have had an attack of lurgy, so should probably try to take it easy or OH will tell me off when he gets home! On the plus side, he cleaned our room last week, and the spare room is almost certainly too much to tackle today!

cyclingyorkie- that's terrible, can the police not do anything to help?
Saving for my first car: £300/£3500!

Morning all. I thought I'd list what I have done this week rather than what still needs doing:

Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    15 minutes...
    Sweep and mop the floor
    30 minutes to spare..
    Clear and wipe the worksurfaces
Clean the sink and slush the drain out
    Got an hour...
    Wipe the door handles
Wipe the oven kn@bs, underneath too if you can

Tuesday - Living Room and study
    15 minutes..
Tidy up, put things away, straighten those piles - there better already
    30 minutes to spare...
    Hoover the floors
Dust electricals, screens etc, done some
    Do one bit of paperwork
    Got an hour...
Time to deal with something else on your desk or sort out the drawers

    Wednesday - Bathroom/downstairs toilet/Hall, Stairs, Landing
    Got 30 minutes to spare...
ME TIME - newbies this is a very important part of being a flylady You could soak you feet and paint your nails, read a magazine, chat with a friend, have a cuppa - anything but you must not skip t his task
    Have an hour...
Clear the floors and hoover and mop them, right into the manky corners, done some
    Test your smoke alarms
Clean shower - descale the head if required
    Shine those mirrors

    Thursday - Choose a bedroom
    15 minutes..
Remove and wash bed linen and duvet covers.
    30 minutes to spare..
Clear and clean the bedside table/dressing table

Just a note on the ring cleaning- DON'T immerse any with opals or pearls or other 'soft' stones.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.

WE didn't realise it was to do with the planning application - we thought they were just weird. Freaked me out when I twigged! If anything happens this time I will be reporting it so it can be logged! Other neighbours had more serious run ins so everyone is on their guard!
