Thank you kazwookie, I have a pile of LE and rare vinyl to list, that's tomorrow morning sorted!
Spent this morning catching up on online stuff and having a practise run of my "wedding face" -- doing my own hair and makeup in the big day
Met OH for lunch with a business friend of his, twas lively. Back home to look after my nephew as his brother had a psych appointment, now decluttering a cuppa while nibble a frog or two.
Not the most productive of days but having worked hard for the past fortnight, I think I deserve a wee rest0 -
I get very frustrated with call centres, and I've got a pretty short fuse when dealing with faceless organisations that give me the runaround on my phone bil. However, today, I've just been on the receiving end of some extra special service and it's made my day.
We have a Be11ing built in oven, it's over 11 years old and it developed a couple of minor problems around the time the fan element went 'pop' while I was doing the film catering. I asked the freelance engineer who fixed a new element about mending the door and he told me we'd need a new oven - and at £540ish installed, that was a bit of a facer.
I contacted be11ing myself yesterday through their website and was told to quote the serial number to organise the repair insurance contract OH and I decided to take out (worth it in this case) and I low-key flipped when the call centre told me the serial number wasn't the serial number. I was building up to a major eruption, and the call handler very wisely told me to hang up and call again when I'd found it, although she wouldn't accept that the oven didn't have a nine digit serial number, it had an eight digit number.
I emailed the guy I'd been in contact with about the issue and he - get this! - found the paperwork I'd submitted 11 years ago when the oven was installed, looked up the nine digit serial number that even he told me wasn't on the oven in those days, found my phone number, rang me, gave me the required number and transferred me to a call handler, so Be11ing paid for the call. I am seriously impressed, and the call centre is in this country - Liverpool, I'd guess from the accents.
I'd defo go with them again after that when the time comes to replace it.

I have to admit I am really enjoying this wonderful thread, and my home is enjoying it too:j
Bathroom all done, just the floor to mop, living room is looking better than it has in years, I even bought fresh flowers to finish it off. I know that I will not be able to be quite so thorough when I return to work, but the plan is to get most of it done whilst on leave, and then keep on top of things when I go back.
I don't know about yours, but in this house if no housework or tidying is done, by about 2 days later its looks like a pig-sty! NO one in my house is able to put things away:mad:
But little and often is my new motto, and so far (bearing in mind I am only in my first week) things are looking good:j
Going to have a cuppa and watch the athletics now,
See you soon x0 -
been to town for a few bits including (fingers crossed) congratulations cards for exam results tomorrow (I'm crossing EVERYTHING) DS came with me so we had to separate;))
Bought ariel for WM as it's half the price of the supermarket, a new knofe (my little kitchen devil paring knife broke and was un-fixable., I have gone to Wilko's. I do like personalised goodsand a new solar stick light to sit by front doorstep. Forgot list, forgot baby sister's WA card (but don't need it until Sept so I might be ok) and bought thank you cards for school, for the children, so again partial frog work - to complete that frog I now have to write them;).
Have also photographed valuable item and uploaded to PC so again partial frog work;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

HB.. My last 3 have been Belling and I've had excellent service from them too..
I am absolutely exhausted today.. my sis brought Tabstick round and she played beautifully with the tiddlers for several hours.. and Squeak sobbed the place down when they left so she is going to play at theirs on Friday. Dot fell over about 5 minutes after they left and has cut and mouth, made her nose bleed and has a stunning bump on her noggin.. She then collapsed for a half hour snooze which hopefully will help.

Evening all.
I feel a lot happier this evening. It seems there are some in the office who work on the principle that Knowledge is Power which is why I've been floundering a bit this week.
But, went on a training workshop this afternoon and I now understand things perfectly! So perfectly, I'm ready to say Clearing? Bring it on!
Have also started a mental sweepstake as to exactly what time the UCAS website will crash because of overload - intel says A level results are down about 7% across the board this year - possibly due to government policies changing - so more students are likely to need to go into clearing.
But then, some universities might have made the decision to confirm them anyway even though they are 60 points below their offer conditions...
But then you all don't need to know that! Good thing, though, about the training was it was in town which means I was able to come home straight afterwards rather than go back to the office and sit there until 5pm.
No flying really has been done apart from general swishing and swiping (though the place is reasonable at the mo) but I have made a lamb stew from scratch which is bubbling in the oven nicely.
DS and I both need to be up early in the am (he needs to be at work for 7am meaning he needs to leave at 05:50, I need to be at work for 7.30am meaning I need to leave at 7am) so it's an early dinner and early to bed.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Evening all
Been out all day but dentist done for all and all is well, mother's new screen installed so computer working, petrol filled, inhaler collected, stuff taken to the dump so all quite productive.
Just eaten dinner so I'll clear up from that in a bit and see if I can do a little from the list.
Honey glad your frog went well, I'm too tired to finish mine (involves calculations) but I will do it first thing in the morning.

Planning application up the road has been rejected! Hooray! Hope the family react better than they did last time it was refused.... (with us they sat in their car staring at our house day in and day out for a year.... and I'd only signed a petition, this time I wrote in person, and was named on the council's website for my sins!):jFlylady and proud of it:j0
