What would you buy if you had the money?

Extra bedroom if large windfall.
New kitchen if largish windfall.
Holidays always on agenda if smaller one came our way (or spend less on the 2 items above and still get holidays in:-))0 -

I know, me too!!0 -
depends on the amount - sensible head would pay off some of the mortgage.
I would like a cat flap in the utility window so I don't have to leave the window open.
A cupboard under the stairs for shoes and the hallway tiling
A spiral staircase to link the garden and balcony so we don't have to traipse through the house.

A trip to the sea. Haven't been able to afford a holiday away this summer.0

I would buy a house outright, preferably with a swimming pool.:D
With less money I would buy a new carpet for the stairs as our animals have ruined it in the year since it was put in.:mad:0 -
Wow that is such a shame - is there nothing you guys could do to even chip together and do a little at a time? Can get some cheap tiles sometimes, a wee electric shower for 60 quid?
I know nothing about bathrooms mind you so may not be as simple s that but hopefully will eventually get there for your parents!
well i have thought of that but because my dad is convinced the floor need reinforcing before any more work. i could buy them a new shower but fitting it is another issuei even dreamt about my post last night. would be AMAZING if they came home to find an actual working bathroom- nothing luxury a cheap £199 suite from b&q would be fine or even a freecycled one.... just the fitting is the main issue
Fix up bathroom - none of the bathroom comps include installation or a plumberwe need the immersion replaced, a new bath, plumbing for an electric shower and the new loo fitted. I've seen lovely mosaic wall tiles in Homebase - but that's as far as we've got. Could we kidnap a plumber?
wouldnt it be amazing if some super nice plumber/tv show decided to grant our wish hehe :jI am a full time Benefit and Money Adviser for a leading non profit charity and I LOVE my job

Please note forum police I suffer from dyslexia so my spelling and grammar can be dreadful- sorry but I cant help it!0 -
Any extra money I have is going into my savings account for a deposit on a house/flat. If I had a nice sum I'd buy a plot of land & design my own house.
A helicopter and lessons would be nice. As well as being able to travel the world.
If I had any money left (!), I'd pay off my parents & grandparents mortgages, give some money to friends & donate a lump sum to charity.0 -
If I had enough I'd 'buy myself' a solid 12 months off work to look after my beautiful baby - I work for myself and I've been working any second I get free since she was two weeks old. It sucks.0

I read Indigo's bathroom post and for the first time recently I felt lucky to have ours -even the green & yellow bath. But I would be waaaay too embarrassed to have a tv show involved. I would gladly provide 'before' and 'after' shots, just lock me away with the plumber. :rotfl: As Indigo says - the fitting is the main issue0 -
