im on no benefits. you pay in bands.
    checkup and polish about £18
above and a couple of fillings about £48.
everything you quoted would be £200 I think. prices are capped.
I got a chipped front tooth. 1/4 of it missing. had check up and tooth filled for about £48.
6 weeks later filling fell out and they redone it for no charge.
Mad got a chipped front tooth Zippy but for some reason they never charge me for a fill. Not thru NHS.

I don't understand how these things work. Stan works, and I work as well, but as a temp, part time. I get the odd day, or week.

This means we don't qualify for benefits. If we don't get benefits, I thought that that means we can't get NHS dental care. Please can anybody advise?

I'm sure everybody is entitled to NHS dental care. Its nor free but there is a limit on how much you pay.

  • Just got another 4 Authentic curries, sel 95p charged £2.30 each again !!

They removed the sel's from yesterday but put a new one up with a different curry (beef) today :D

Went to CS, they called the fridge manager who wasn't happy as it happened yesterday :rotfl:
He said to give £5.40 refund but the CS lady said " shouldn't that be £10.80 dtd " :T
So better than free curries again

I hadn't been to my dentist for a while (moved house, put it off etc) and went last summer - all seemed okay (with the service, but needed some work on my teeth including a wisdom tooth out and filings) and he came up with a treatment plan - when it came to around £1000 projected cost when reception printed it off I thought that sounds a bit steep, with a £50 charge for the initial meeting/check up :yikes:. When she asked if I wanted to pay up front it clicked he had changed and no longer did NHS work! I feel sure I had said NHS when I phoned up but he was quite dismissive over what was possible on NHS and painted a picture of an inferior service.

Long story short, I Googled a bit, read up, found he was talking nonsense and all that he has indicated needed doing could be done on NHS if I could find one that would accept me. i went on NHS choices website (http://www.nhs.uk/Service-Search/Dentists/LocationSearch/3) which lists dentists who have NHS spaces in your area (search by postcode), found one nearby (ish!) and I haven't looked back. Once treatment starts the fee is set as one of the 3 bands and that is it no matter how many appointments the treatment plan takes.

    Excellent service.
