'Think of the thread as a tree, many branches to it, and not all of us, need all the branches, but we do need the tree!' - midwinter
New overflow thread for 11+ers
THE FOLLOWING IS COPIED FROM ORIGINAL FIRST POST ON PREVIOUS THREAD
This is yet another bargain/glitch/DTD/JTD/misprice thread!
We know it's in the 'Gone But Not Forgotten' section!
No, not all of what we say is Tesco related or even of interest to many others but this is the way this thread has formed.
Many of us want to discuss the various deals to be had but this was not appreciated on the main Grabbit forum. As such, we now use this thread to talk about anything. We also discuss ex-husbands and wives, kids and animals. If you have a medical problem we'll nag you until you go to the Doctor. If you're not feeling well we'll provide support, a wee hot drink and whatever chocolate is currently glitching to cheer you up.
And finally, yes we know that some people try to obscure the store names but this works both ways. It might make it difficult for those who don't have the time to sit here and natter all day but it also makes it difficult for staff/managers to quickly identify any issues at their store.
We do try to remember to post new deals in bold. We don't like arguing so we're not going to take umbrage if one or two deals slip through.
Now sit back, relax and feel free to join in. We don't bite (unless you ask nicely), we will help wherever possible and you don't have to post new deals just to feel like part of the group.
Please put all your finds in bold with LAST 4 DIGITS OF barcode and photo if possible so we can chat & still speed read for bargains.

Big thanks to wackynut for the below summary of the T&Cs for each supermarket's price comparison service (further detail added by aau1)
Asda Price Guarantee (APG)
A's compares with - T's, S's, M's and W's.
Comparative prices are taken from mysupermarket.co.uk
You need to have bought at least 8 items covered by the Asda Price Guarantee, of which at least 1 should be comparable.
Note some departments do not count towards your required 8 items (see FAQs for info)
No minimum spend. Maximum of 10 of the same product.
Wait 3 hours after after shopping at A's before using the APG.
A's give you the difference plus 10%
APG used to be capped at £15 but at the moment cap has been lifted.
Each household will not be able to claim more than £100 in any calendar month, nor make more than 10 claims in any calendar month.

Tesco's have updated their price check.
To qualify, you’ll need at least 10 different items, including one comparable grocery item in your basket.

Wahey, post 2. But i'm only posting once on page one so others of you can get on here and i'm reserving it hopefully for useful stuff. Thanks for trying to create new thread Tiger, at least you've had a practice so should make it a lot easier for you next time, and by the speed the last whole thread went I would imagine you'll be creating a shiney new thread somewhere before this month is out.
And now for a bit of ISS info
OK, until I find some useful shopping info to post on here, i'll post something i've been learning more about over the last week or so, as there seem to have been a few folk asking.
http://www.meteorwatch.org/uk-iss-passes-august-2013.html
This is a useful page if you are wanting to know passing times and directions, remember, the later in the evening the pass is, the sooner it will disappear out of site.
The 11th will be a great night, weather permitting. What happens when you are able to see the ISS is you see sunlight reflecting off it, so when it's late and it's coming from the direction of the sunset, it will go into the earths shadow shortly after going over head. With the 11th being 10.13pm when it comes in view, it should be seen right from one side of the sky to the other. It is usually about 10 degrees above horizon at least when you first see it, but not many of us can see that low in the skyline anyway. You may also spot quite a few meteors from the Perseid shower over 11th/12th/13th.
If it's travelling W to E watch in the direction you see the sun set to see it appear. If it's getting past that time on the chart start looking up more as you may have missed it coming. It should pass pretty much overhead and disappear roughly in the direction you see the sunrise(as long as it's not too late,) otherwise it will disappear earlier. It is very easy to spot when it's extremely bright, at least 2 to 3 times as bright as the brightest star.
Another place to look is on the ustream page and search 'live_iss_stream'
I did post the full link here but it seems broken, so try this instead.
The ISS has an orbital sunrise or sunset about every 45 mins, (this must feel weird) so if the image you see is black then it may be on the external camera and in orbital sunset.
BTW, some shopping info. I found some of the packs of 2 toothbrush refils in A's. They had yellow labels with £4.50 on but when these were removed and items scanned they went through at £1.75 each.0 -
