Good morning Elite. When I got up this morning it was 10.2 C outside :eek:

Managed to see a few shooting stars last night, and I am fairly sure I also saw a couple of satellites, not so bright spots moving rapidly across the sky.

rose, you have to be a mum first. Something made me think this many years ago. I was having various arguments with my step mother, my father had invested money in a failed business venture of ours and my step mother was being a pain in the proverbial, phoning several times a day, she wanted the money for HER kids, and she wanted us to sell the house to get the cash (which had been considerably reduced by then)! In the meantime we were doing our best to pay him back at the cost of our mortgage. In one of the many shouting matches with her I said parents should put their kids first, in that moment I realised I was not. I put the phone down got the phone cut off so I did not have to listen to her anymore, we stopped paying them anything (it was an investment not a loan) and got back on track. From that day on we concentrated on OUR family.

Step back, ignore what everyone else, including your sister, is saying, do what is best for you. At the end of the day what is best for you is also best for your mum as you are her main carer. Tell your lot that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

Just came down to get the paper to read in bed and saw your post. i Eventually went to sleep at 4.00 cause I was so upset. I know what you mean. Even before I gave up work to care for my parents I was the one who went there every day and sometimes they only saw mr from week to week. The home called this morning about signing the financial papers ( Mum only has to pay£121 for the week) and I decided I will make the decision when she comes home not everyone else who will then just leave me to it. I did some research in the early hours about length of time you have a plaster on and realised as it is exactly 6 weeks on Friday she may well have it on a while longer and even then her wrist will be weak. I sent my older sister a sharp email last night and have decided until she appears her again on 4.9 I wont communicate with her. Now back to bed to read the paper and then a massive housework day. So tempted to eat something but i musnt sabotage my best efforts. Thanks

"I will only shop at T if it pays me to do so."

Well, quite an acceptable stance in my viewpoint!:rotfl::rotfl:
  • I have just been thinking while hanging out the washing.

If I had not found this site we would probably be stoney broke and living off dregs. Instead I am spending less than ever, we have had several so-called "finest" meals over the past few weeks, we have enough wine to re-float the Titanic. We have enough washing powder and softener to last years, we will NEVER have to buy air freshener again, we have enough handwash to last years, and washing up liquid.

I am sitting here eating Special K (which I would NEVER pay for) and woopsied grapes, and realising I have never said one thing

THANK YOU GUYS FOR GIVING US BACK OUR LIVES

Wonderful views of the iSS last night on both passes. The 9.23pm was was interesting as the sky was still quite light - first time I've seen it when its not been very dark.

After the 11.01 pass I stayed out laid back on a lounger wrapped up in my Slanket until just after midnight (Dh went to bed). Saw 9 meteors, all but one very bright with good trails - they were all coming from the North. Also I saw what I think must have been little satellites - one went over very fast from SE to NW in exactly the same orbit twice at about 20 minute interval and also another faint one. Either that or flying saucers !

It's a pumpkin, and it is no longer an 8 incher :j Can't believe how fast it is growing, but it will slow down soon as it has to grow more to look bigger, put on more mass so to speak :D
