Morning all, hope all are well and happy. This is off topic, but wondered if anyone could help?
Does anyone know Manchester at all?
My brother has just got a job in Manchester after being out of work for years. We are in North yorkshire, and he doesn't want to commit to renting a flat just yet in case the job doesn't work out (past experience).
So he's going to get the train every week and stay in a hotel, the ones he's found so far have been about £75 per day! (he'd be staying 4 nights a week)
His job is near the main train station, so would like a hotel within walking distance.
Just wondered if anyone that may know the area might have any moneysaving ideas?
Travelodge have some cheap saver rooms till the end of September. If you do need to pay higher prices, remember to max out cash back and reward schemes - hotels.com welcome rewards scheme is a good one. HTH.Hope is not a strategy.0 -
Good Morning, Sorry not been keeping up with things on here, real life and all that. Just to say about the 1000 club card points on pre-order of Call of Duty Ghost from Tesco at £5. Guess its already been discussed but if not might be useful. Have a good day all.0

Morning all, and what a beautiful day it is !!
got my DD and DS all week yeahhhh. Big thank you for the meal vouchers Lets just say Mr T got hit big style last saturday with all my family. Last just say i had 27 of each voucher to use and i left with none on sunday night. Family and friends up north are very happy especially my big sis (wine wine and more wine) and some food.0 -
Why I was asking as my own DS, who's now coming up to 16 and is off to college in a couple of weeks has always had some strange issues. Myself, members of the family, and in many places take him too have expressed opinions on him being mild end if the spectrum, although the schools he went to were never much support and I had to change his primary schools many times, and spend a period of teaching him at home for about 6 months when he just wasn't coping. I can so relate to what you are saying about talking above his years and sounding like grandad. He used to lecture people about the health risks of smoking, and tell teenagers off for throwing litter down, but fortunately we managed to steer him away from this pretty much by the age you son is now, and thankfully being small for his age, he got away with his antics.
I now see him somewhere between your son and savvy. He has done a lot of learning technecs to deal with life when too many things are going off at once in his head. (Even though that can sometimes mean going off on one himself!) When his brain is doing strange things I can talk to him about it and make him realise he has to calm down and separate things. The other night I was reading with interest what savvy was writing, and how much he now understands his own condition. My son, even though obviously at the mild end of the spectrum and without diagnosis, but we defo know there ARE issues, is now learning to understand too.
I hope all this makes sense and I haven't just been waffling.
And Sorry DM, it's a long post so i'm gonna have more to catch up on now, which has taken me ages to write, and I will pay for it too as I am using the hand with the trigger finger I should be resting!!!!
Good morning everyone! Somewhere between a bit and a lot more achy this morning - I obviously slept on the wrong side of the bed, but that ibuprofen will relieve. Just reading through this interesting (to me anyway (it's all subjective!)) two-way from the early hours (hope you don't mind me 'interrupting' (in the sense of now replying to it, and from somewhere in its middle), in fact I'm sure you don't mind me interrupting) - just thought I'd highlight that bit near the end as that constantly happens to me. (I originally highlighted from where I have, but right to the end, but I don't do that often - as I found when I actually read [red] it properly - but yes I do have a 'trigger finger' (or two or three) so I had thought the whole ending applied to me, although it doesn't, and I'm off on a waffle again... Ha ha.)0 -
