All caught up. Well - with the conversation between fc and elsie1969 anyway at any rate! I don't think it'll be using a trampoline (to view any meteors or anything else), in my current (or previous) state - the one before I went to bed last night, even my own bed is preferable to that. I've got to get on now - can't sit here all morning leisurely posting to this thread.
See you later!!:):)0 -

For any of you who collect Avios or just want to bump up your cc points.
Tesco is offering 1,000 bonus Clubcard points when you pre-order ‘Call of Duty : Ghosts’ for £5! This is 2,400 Avios points or 2,500 Flying Club miles for just a fiver.
How it is meant to work is that you get a display box scanned at the check-out, pay £5, and receive a special receipt. Visit the store on the day the game is released (5th November) and you are guaranteed to get a copy and you will get your £5 back as a discount. The 1,000 bonus Clubcard points are credited with the pre-order payment.
There is no obligation to ever buy the game when it is eventually released. This means that you can treat this as a chance to buy some Avios airmiles for 0.2p each!
You need to be very careful not to overdo this promotion. Tesco has removed bonus points in the past. Buying one copy is obviously fine, two is probably OK, especially if you buy one of the Xbox versions and one of the PlayStation versions. I would get very nervous beyond two copies (one of each).
The boxes tend to be on a separate stand to the usual video games. You take an empty box to the checkout, it is scanned, but you do not keep the box – it goes back on the shelf. You will only tend to find these in larger Tesco stores. Note that the yellow label on the edge of the shelf will say 500 bonus points, although it goes through the till as 1,000 bonus points.
There is no stated closing date for this offer, although it is only likely to run for a few days .....

Thanks for posting this - I'm now seriously considering this offer although I do note the bit I've highlighted. If there's something that I can get completely free from T, that gives me a round number of CC points, that I don't have to buy from or spend anything at them, that'll be the only time I'll 'shop' there! If I get back more than I paid...but sadly virtually everything at T in the past has just ended up in getting me to spend more and more and, with their behaviour over a lot of things, I'm unhappy to give them anything at all for anything I might originally buy from them. I'm sorry but even folks' mocs-off items are still part paid for - if it's T, I will now only have free or better than free.
It's been an exhausting process - but, having lost and lost any money to them over my shopping with them in the last six months (having hoped initially to have made a profit, and hoped that due to their previous behaviour), I've only just about now managed to claw it all back from them. Not revealing how just yet, in case they remove anything from me - but I did go and very very quickly convert those points! I think it's probably just about come out even stephens for all the items I'd bought from them (i.e. probably about nothing or if so just a fiver for the amount of stuff bought (including £20 worth on one occasion:eek: (£40 worth if you go on full prices which I don't) - inevitable coupon that then led to a cycle ofbuying and re-buying) - but it was a long haul, it was pure chance something came up and I am looking to get the goods and make a profit not merely break even.
Still, not too bad (chuckles), but I will only now shop in T if it's goods and profit, and I'm saying that (but absolutely meaning it and will now rigidly stick to it) only due to their behaviour. It is so so exhausting to achieve, despite the numerous traps in my view they set up and incentives sent to you to encourage you to pay anything at all more. So--- I don't think in practice I'll be transacting anything with T!
Edit: BTW: I don't even try DTD, as it just ends up in me paying the SEL price as they refuse and it's not guaranteed! I can't seem to make them comply (and, believe me, I've learned all of this from experience with them now) and I'm not going to HQ CS as even they turned me down once, over something else. It depends on the haphazardness of who in the CS happens to answer the phone. I may get a £5 moneycard - but as there is a possibility I'll get nothing, thus leaving me a few pounds down (having paid something to them) and then I may not be able to find a successful way of getting something of that back from some other promotion (which itself risks me paying them more and not getting that - and more - back) - so, no no no!! (BTW, if I have a £5 moneycard (fat chance again!) but my shopping bill, when using it, comes to £5.01, that 1p is treated as a 1p loss on my calculations! That 1p is too much for me to be paying them - it's not free or better than free, so no chance I'm afraid.)0 -
