Rose I honestly don't know how you do it, I can see you're going through so much. Try not to let your sister get you down or bully you into decisions. Sometimes you need to be a little bit selfish to get back on track. I hope your mother gets well soon and that you get some much needed time to yourself too.
to those still awake, about to go outside to do some meteor spotting whilst having a cheeky cig. I went to Sada earlier and they had just stocked up on Galaxy bars so Em and I grabbed a few Should have read on here earlier that they don't compare but it happens.
For the jukebox: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvZV9cvIFxA
(I don't know whether I still need to delete your symbols - but I am doing! I can't be bothered though to spend more time putting them back in.)
'Fraid these Galaxy milk choc bars are now no good to me now they're no longer free! I used to really go for Galaxy, and Cadbury's, choc bars. However I tried S'price Choc Bar a few months ago, just to see if it tasted as good despite its low price, not as good as free but you know what I mean - always, when it's in stock, the cheapest price per 100g on the shelves. Ever since I tried the S'price one, I've never gone back! In fact, somewhat of a shocker, I think the S'price bar tastes even better than Cadbury's Dairy Milk!
Just goes to show you! (I bet the S'price one is loaded with fat, but who cares - to me, it tastes nicer!)
With my bars at 27 pence (on the right comparisons of course!) and the Galaxy at 31.818181 recurring pence (weight adjusted price), I'm definitely not changing to the Galaxy! Which is why I was so disappointed to hear the APG was now picking up the price paid.
There were these (in theory) available last week (sadly, the milk chocolate is the one that's not on bogof, but never mind...)
2x A S/P Dark Chocolate (100g)
30px2 35p bogof (vs M)
2x A S/P Fruit & Nut Chocolate (100g)
30px2 39p bogof (vs M)
Don't know whether they're still on but I'll pick it up (i.e. notice it rather than picking it up in the sense of buying it) later if it is. It should (or should have, if it's expired now) recognise(d) the bogof on the APG, as it doesn't seem the offers are married to each other on the shelf - the pricing from that quite somewhat appears to be 35p+39p if someone bought one of each in M.0 -
Good morning Elite. When I got up this morning it was 10.2 C outside :eek:
Managed to see a few shooting stars last night, and I am fairly sure I also saw a couple of satellites, not so bright spots moving rapidly across the sky.I cannot describe to anyone how I felt on that night in March when my DD stumbled downstairs and told me she had done something silly-taken a combination of 90 different tablets so she could go to sleep and never wake up. I was hysterical and could not even go with her in the ambulance as the paramedics would not let me. I then spend about a month where i never left her alone. If I had to go out one of her close frends, bf or Dad came and sat with her. Even now she gives me her phone at night to charge in my room so she is not stressing by reading FB or Twitter. DS's wedding is in 5 weeks and I would like to enjoy the build up to it and there are things I need to do towards it. Wedding is in London ( we live in West Country) and Mum knows it will be a struggle for her to go ( and has said she is happy to stay home ) as OH's parents are not going or the bride's grandmother due to poor health but oldest sis says she has to come!! My brothers daughter is getting married the week before at home here and Mum is going there as its at my brothers house and as my younger sister says Mum will see all the family there.
Its a nightmare and talking of nightmares better go to bed ( not that i will sleep well after all this grief.)
Nite all at least I have you all on my side
rose, you have to be a mum first. Something made me think this many years ago. I was having various arguments with my step mother, my father had invested money in a failed business venture of ours and my step mother was being a pain in the proverbial, phoning several times a day, she wanted the money for HER kids, and she wanted us to sell the house to get the cash (which had been considerably reduced by then)! In the meantime we were doing our best to pay him back at the cost of our mortgage. In one of the many shouting matches with her I said parents should put their kids first, in that moment I realised I was not. I put the phone down got the phone cut off so I did not have to listen to her anymore, we stopped paying them anything (it was an investment not a loan) and got back on track. From that day on we concentrated on OUR family.
Step back, ignore what everyone else, including your sister, is saying, do what is best for you. At the end of the day what is best for you is also best for your mum as you are her main carer. Tell your lot that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Good morning ,I see that aau1 doesn't think so but I need them anyway, I remember my mum watching cell block H must be about 35/37 years ago
They'll still count as one of your 10 items and help you reach a conditional spend (if you have one)Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
Up to my eyes, ironing and packing for holiday, also new teacher picks this evening to ask about planning for Sept - she's been on her holiday, lol, well I shall send her some stuff anything else will have to wait until I have had my holiday. Oh who am I kidding I will sort stuff for her tomorrow and email it.
Really need holiday.
Have a lovely holiday, Flo.0 -
Morning all.
Hope everyone is ok.
I've put us on a £20 grocery budget this week. The freezer and cupboards are all rammed so we shouldn't have to spend hardly anything. The only thing brought yesterday was milk and a paper. The hubby is convinced I can't go the week with out splashing out. I may have to have a little wager with him
Off for a catch up. Back in a bit xLife is not about learning to avoid the storms - it's about learning to dance in the rain.0 -
For any of you who collect Avios or just want to bump up your cc points.
Tesco is offering 1,000 bonus Clubcard points when you pre-order ‘Call of Duty : Ghosts’ for £5! This is 2,400 Avios points or 2,500 Flying Club miles for just a fiver.
How it is meant to work is that you get a display box scanned at the check-out, pay £5, and receive a special receipt. Visit the store on the day the game is released (5th November) and you are guaranteed to get a copy and you will get your £5 back as a discount. The 1,000 bonus Clubcard points are credited with the pre-order payment.
There is no obligation to ever buy the game when it is eventually released. This means that you can treat this as a chance to buy some Avios airmiles for 0.2p each!
You need to be very careful not to overdo this promotion. Tesco has removed bonus points in the past. Buying one copy is obviously fine, two is probably OK, especially if you buy one of the Xbox versions and one of the PlayStation versions. I would get very nervous beyond two copies (one of each).
The boxes tend to be on a separate stand to the usual video games. You take an empty box to the checkout, it is scanned, but you do not keep the box – it goes back on the shelf. You will only tend to find these in larger Tesco stores. Note that the yellow label on the edge of the shelf will say 500 bonus points, although it goes through the till as 1,000 bonus points.
There is no stated closing date for this offer, although it is only likely to run for a few days .....
