I have just been thinking while hanging out the washing.

If I had not found this site we would probably be stoney broke and living off dregs. Instead I am spending less than ever, we have had several so-called "finest" meals over the past few weeks, we have enough wine to re-float the Titanic. We have enough washing powder and softener to last years, we will NEVER have to buy air freshener again, we have enough handwash to last years, and washing up liquid.

I am sitting here eating Special K (which I would NEVER pay for) and woopsied grapes, and realising I have never said one thing

THANK YOU GUYS FOR GIVING US BACK OUR LIVES

    what a lovely post :)

I so understand what you mean - OH lost his job then shortly after I was forced to take early retirement because of ill health. he retrained and started up as self-employed, then just as work was starting to come in he hurt his back which resulted in emergency spine surgery

he's ok now and slowly getting back to work, but I dont know how we would have managed without this thread, we too have been able to build up stocks, eat food we wouldnt have been able to afford and even been able to help our families without spending too much.

even though Ive not posted much, Ive gained such a lot from the community here, there's a real sense of caring you dont often find online.

Thank you all from me too :A

OMG I could have written this exact same post!
I won't go into our financial history but for the past few years we've been in dire straits trying to make headway on a debt we thought we'd never clear (we al make silly mistakes when we're young) and our debt is BIG! :o
We're about halfway through now and since joining up to the elite these last couple of months it's started to feel easier.
Being back at work probably helps but I've also got good at the glitch/moc shopping malarky and our cupboards etc.. have never been so full of food and it's not value stuff either :j I haven't bought DH any value lager now since Ts had the bavaria mocs and although my wine lake is more a puddle it's something I never thought I'd see.
My kids can now wander into the kitchen and pick from a massive range of things when they fancy a snack and I love my nappy mountain to bits (DH is most definitely not getting that in the warm beer divorce :D ).

I don't think I'll ever be able to thank the elite enough, you've actually helped me to sleep better at nights and stop worrying about money (well almost).
I fully echo what Enterprise said, thanx for giving my family it's happiness back :) a less stressy Mummy makes a less stressy household :j:beer: (this beer's not warm ;) )

I second that:T:T..I only found the thread in February when Argos were selling those gift cards...I had been doing a weekly shop at m buying only what we needed, no luxury items, mainly value items...and that was getting less on a weekly basis..
How things have changed, I too have a cupboard full of washing liguid, washing up liquid, a decent supply of toilet roll and my freezer is fit to burst. We eat better, save more and it's all down to the people on this wonderful thread:T:T:) thankyou.

Oops, yeah sorry again for helping to break that one guys :o

    What did you do AAU?
I participated in that one but that was because I saw it on the dark side.
That was way before I even started visiting here :o
I know I saw there that some people were going nuts with it.

Just thought I'd post a recap for those still trying to fathom the baby food :)

    These compare As to Ts.

(highest priced desserts I could find)
Hipp Organic Strawberry & Raspberry Yogurt 7mth+ (160g)
Heinz Mum's Own Recipe Fruit Custard Crumble 7mth+ (200g)

    These come up N/A

Heinz Mum's Own Recipe Fruity Chicken with Rice 10mth+ 250g
Cow & Gate Mediterranean Beef Stew 10mth+ 250g
Cow & Gate Chicken Sunday Lunch 10mth+ 250g
Cow & Gate My Favourite Spaghetti Bolognese 10mth+ 250g
    Cow & Gate Mamma's Macaroni 10mth+ 250g

    The all important trigger :)

Cow & Gate Baby Balance Chicken Pasta with Sweet Vegetables 7mth+ 200g (it's the one with a yellow lid :) )

Best return (I think Tiger explained it well) is pick 10 of the highest price jars from the list that compare to Ts, one from the N/A list and don't forget the 12th jar must be the trigger :)
If you're not sure just copy Tigers list as it gives a pretty good return :) just don't forget the trigger plus fillers :)

Off to Asda later ( dont go very often) so wondered what sort of return you get on the baby food. Thinking of getting some for my niece. Also are there any other things glitching today? thanks

Better to be safe than sorry sometimes :) unless I'm 10% confident I've got it right I take the 10p (ish) hit on the APG.
I don't always get the N/A jar as I worry I might have accidentally picked up 2 N/As and throw the whole lot out (poor Tiger managed to do that yesterday)

    You rang M'lord?! :rotfl:

Morning all. I'm in work and shock horror, I've been doing some work  These spreadsheets wont write themselves!
Right, did aau figure out last night why some G compared to £1.25 v £1 and some didn't? I'm off to check up..

As some of you know, I listed to Radio 2 and love ken bruce. Popmaster is on and i just got 21 points.. was totally chuffed with myself :T:T
    Tiger
I'm a body double for Claudia Schiffer and i wont get out of bed for less than [STRIKE]£10k per day[/STRIKE] a 1p find

The more expensive the jars, the bigger the return :)
My locals stock is limited (it's only a small store) so i just grab loads of the hipp mozarella and hipp noodles and I think the return per jar for those is about 50p each.
The ones on my list i think return between 40p and 50p a jar (I didn't bother listing anything cheaper as the return is obviously smaller) so I usually get between £4 and £5 depending on what I buy.
Just over a quid for 12 jars of baby food is a bargain for me :j

Edit: Forgot to say make sure you take the list and double and triple check your shopping is right if you're in doubt :)
