I wore a size 14 dress to the last wedding I went to, and I looked pretty darn good if I do say so myself! :rotfl:
I bet we can help you find something you'll feel nice in, there's far more out there in bigger sizes than there used to be, and there are things like Spanx which are miraculous!
Bless you!
I suspect my left leg is a size 14. :rotfl:
Ok I'm exaggerating a tad but it's been a long while since I was a size 14.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Women weren't supposed to wear red either, it was apparently a way of signalling that you were the groom's secret mistress!
The only real colour rule now is that you shouldn't wear white, only the bride is allowed a white dress at a wedding. Even that gets stretched a bit now though and its fine to wear patterned dresses with a lot of white in and so on.
It is all a bit weird, I'll grant you that.
It does seem rather weird. I was aware of the white thing but I had no idea about red! That's brilliant!0 -
Go for burgundy or navy, black is a bit obvious. Plum is the new colour for Autumn and Winter (apparently) so you might find something in that colour in Tesco/Asda/Primark/Matalan which won't cost a fortune.
I agree - Tesco do quite nice things for sizes that I'm too thin for as a 140 -
OP, give an idea of size and budget and as P1 says I'm sure we can help you find something.
Since we've moved to talking about etiquette and strange rules, isn't there one about which way up the buttonhole flower should be worn? I can't remember what it is though.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

I'm ignoring you now. :rotfl:
I don't have good bits at the moment. That's not me being dismissive, it's just that most of me is 'affected' iyswim. So it's not like simply trying to disguise a big bum or cover a tum etc.

Noooo, I don't want to. :rotfl:
Budget...no idea. Cheap as poss I suppose as I expect I'll never wear it again.
Although if it was a choice between paying less and looking like a sack of spuds and paying more and looking like maybe only one or two spuds....I'd pay more.Herman - MP for all!0
