  • Morning Diary,

Hi MrsP, lovely to hear from you. Aw glad I cheered you up this morning, although I do feel like I cheated to become DF...still DF is DF I guess.

Hi Mummy, I'm good thanks. Back at work today after a lovely although very tiring week off. DD is back to school tomorrow (when do yours go back?). She starts Reception, so hopefully she'll be worn out when she gets home...she has too much energy at the moment.

Well I'm all picnicked out, we went on lots of days out last week to various parks\adventure areas for kids and I only spent the £100 which I drew out of the bank (not bad when things were costing at least £20 for us to get in). On the bad side I used a full tank of petrol on the days out, I have since filled up and I have used over a quarter of a tank already since filling. So I will probs end up filling up again before pay day...£180 on petrol in one month!!! I only put £120 away.

We also did a bit of gardening and decorating...I never stop, when I do stop I get bored ha ha and need to get on with something. The garden has been fully weeded and the downstairs loo is now painted. The next on my list is my bedroom.

I spent yesterday decorating, autumn cleaning and ironing name badges into DD's uniform (I have to fit it all into one day as its easier when X has DD)

Isn't it funny how when the seasons change you feel like having a good sort out? I have started a fresh new job list now for the next bout.

This morning I have been working out finances as I ordered the curtains and blinds for downstairs on Saturday (£700 ouch), but I can scrape together most of it from my house and emergency and holiday pots...just a bit needed from car pot. I don't need to pay for them until October so thankfully I will have another pay day in between. Parting with that much money makes me feel sick, like I am doing something wrong :naughty:.

Turned up my thermostats on radiators this morning, its a bit nippy at 6:30am now. The heating has been set to 'off' all summer but the blooming thing turns itself on when the water comes on ...30 mins on a morning and on a night.

Need to get my friend in to look at it (he is a builder so might do it for free, I will add it to his list of jobs :D).

OOOH forgot to say, my new swivel chair is coming tomorrow :j I bet DD still wants to sit on me even when we have a seat each.

  • Good afternoon,

It was DD's first day at school today and we had tears, I was nearly crying on the way and then when we got to the gates DD didn't want me to leave and was in tears too...I had pulled myself together by then.
I wouldn't care, she was so excited this morning, got her uniform on and couldn't wait to set off. Ill be there to pick her up and I asked x if he wanted to come, it will be a nice memory for both of them (but not for me with him there lol).

Got a text to say I was OD this morning, by the time I had paid in the money from the home pot I was still only £20 in the black so I have moved all my food money (because thats what Ive mainly spent on) in and now I have £70 in that pot to last 3 weeks. Oh well, Im sure its do-able.

My new chair has arrived and fits lovely in my front room.

I have a meeting on Thursday about my new job, looks like I will be moving over very soon. Ive just spoken to HR and the day I move over is the day I start my new wage. Think I need to move now ha ha.

  • Morning,

Im shattered today, I had a lovely early night too and slept like a log and then this morning when the alarm went off it took me ages to get my lazy bottom out of bed.

I decided last night to move some money out of my car pot to get me through the month. So I moved £75 leaving £400 still in there. This gives me £130 in the everything else pot (going to have to get petrol and food with this too). If push comes to shove I might use my £2 savings to put towards my curtains...infact thats a good plan.

Birthday pot money is paying for DD's party, one of the kids can't come so thats Ok as I invited too many lol...we're down to 16 invites now. Going to make the cake myself, DD has already spied the purple icing and said 'Is that for my cake?' Hawk eyes, doesn't miss a trick.

DD was full of excitement for school again today, she said she didn't get homework last night because she had just started lol. She said she will be getting it tomorrow though 'Boring'! I said how do you know its boring when you haven't had it before? Im guessing she has picked it up from the child minders daughter.

I need to make a start on painting my bedroom as the wallpaper is going on on Friday.

  • Morning Livvy,

Im glad DD has settled into school ok, did ex go in the end?

Its shocking that they get homework from an early age isnt it!! They do it from reception in ours too. Last year I really noticed a different with DD1's in the amount she got in year 1! I found it a struggle tbh with working full time but im hoping now il be at home straight after school we can get it done straight away.

    Money plan sounds good!! xx

  • Morning all,

Well its a good day today. Lots going on, I have a meeting with my new and old bosses today to discuss my new job and start date. Im trying to make a list but my brain isn't working fully yet.

DD has gone off to school happy as larry so pleased about that.

Hi Mummy, yes x came to pick up DD with me. She was really happy he was there so pleased I did it. He asked me to meet him before we went to the school as he didn't know where the play ground was...how sad is that? She has been there a year !!!!!!.
She got her homework out full of excitement last night and then when she realised there weren't any words and she would have to make the story up she lost interest. Its going to be hard with the homework so I have told x on his nights he would have to do it with her. Like you I am worried about doing the homework with me working full time, we have a week to read this book though so hopefully we will do it tonight...if she isn't too tired again.

I have managed to retrieve £200 next month towards my new curtains which means I don't have to touch my car pot (good job as tax is due end of Oct) and I only need to transfer £100 from holiday pot. It was the child minders mistake but had I not text her to query the bill I just wonder if it would have gone unnoticed for ever.

I made a start on the cutting in with the paint in my bedroom last night ready for wallpapering tomorrow. I really couldn't be bothered so I only did an hour, still have to get up the ladders and do the edge of the ceiling.

DD is going away for the weekend with x tomorrow...boo hoo. Its like bitter sweet for me as I will worry about her and miss her but Im looking forward to having some time to myself.
