£4.91 potted. Combined from the lottery 50ps from work (I buy the tickets online and people give me the cash) and 91p I found in the bottom of my bag!

    Hi everyone

I've just got back after a weeks holiday in Wales. The good thing is I didn't spend as much as I thought I would :j. My pay increased a little this month but I'm hoping next month will be a bit more. I must find a way to make a bit more money. I plan to do several boot fairs but I need a car to do that and I'm still waiting for a company car.

I can't believe there are only 89 days left in this challenge! Must pot more. One of my pots is nearly full but the other one is nowhere near as full as it was last year.

Nell - I'm glad this cycle has been slightly better for you

Southernman - I was in the same position as you two years ago. I did a secondment which I loved but had to return to an awful job which involved cold-calling people at their homes. All I could do was wait until a permanent position came up in the team and apply for it, which I did, but it was only on the third attempt I got the role. It is very competitive out there at the moment but if you see something that you want go for it, even if it takes you several attempts to get it.

    I am potting £2.74 tonight.

    Night night.

I owed my sister £10 for some birthday cards she made for me. I was giving to my dad earlier ready for when she visits them on Sunday but he told me to keep it and he'd pay her for me :-) So that's another £10 in the pot! Plus 2p I found on the windowsill.....

Few more pence in the tub from fleabay posting and milk run today :)

Now a bit of help ladies, have decided to make savoury pancakes for tea tomorrow filled with chicken, bacon and mushroom in a white sauce. Does this actually sound as nice as I think it does or am I just kidding myself??

Sue, I've had very painful headaches today and yesterday which make me very light sensitive. My head is generally painful, but really painful when I walk around or make any movement - particularly bending down and getting back up again or stairs :( It's been making me feel a bit nauseous and dizzy and I've been doing wally things because of it. Hopefully it'll pass soon, I reckon it's a mixture of stress and 'Aunt Flo' hormones!

This evening I've managed to pilfer three 5p coins from my OH's car and I also potted the change from doing the shopping, which came to a healthy £7.56 :D

Jakes-mum, I'm a veggie, but if I was a meat eater that does sound quite nice :)

I'm organising a charity event at work, so I'm just going to do some things for that then go to bed. I feel exhausted this week!

Get better soon dingle! Headachy migrainey things are nasty :(

I'm glad someone else thinks it sounds ok, as someone who can only eat the chicken part of it I'm not he best judge on what it could taste like :rotfl: now to remember to ring my mum and ask if I have to fry off the mushrooms before I add them to the sauce  I haven't used mushrooms in anything other than a stir fry and chicken kebab so have no idea what to do with them :o

Sue - Yes please do add it as my target. I'm gonna go find my number now and add it to my sig! Xxx
  • Elle1267, you are so not allowed to say M**** C******** in August; that's shocking!!! Although that time of year will be here before we know it... but the contents of the pot will lighten the load considerably this year, I feel, hurrah!

Dinglefoot, hope you are feeling better soon and the migraine migrates elsewhere...

Pancakes sound yum, jakes-mum... would you like some veg to go with that; we've loads here and I rescued a small child from underneath it all earlier on :rotfl:

Got the kids a takeaway this evening as their last holiday treat before going back to jail, sorry, school, so a grand total of 40p potted (makes me mad as I could probably have done a homemade version of their takeaway for about a third of the price except that they would probably have refused to consume my creation). None for us (how very MSE); we dug in to the produce mountain and had chicken in honey and mustard with roasted veg nom nom ;) Bought some mince and am on a mission to see how many of the veg I can grate and get down the kids in a bolognaise without them realizing how especially good it is for them this week :D

Car booting tomorrow afternoon so hoping for lots of odds and ends to add to the pot to give it a boost. Will let you know how we do!

Sleep well, keep well, and happy potting x

Nom nom I'll be there what time are we eating? :rotfl:
Personally I'd fry the mushrooms first, bring out the flavour :)

Oops - on topic, £2 plus shrapnel potted yesterday and hoping for more today - off to Bournemouth to look at the air show later :)
