  • Another £1 in the pot today

And have decided to start another pot for 6 months, as we missed out on a summer break abroad this year for one reason and another so I want to make sure come next Feb/March I have some cash to put towards booking next years break.

My lovely daughter doing her GCSE's next June so want to be able to book something for early July (for once being able to avoid the school holiday rip off period)

See, I really have caught the saving bug!!

Been to Espana recently but continued with the hubby rummages while away - not sure that Euros count towards the total though ...?! Nevertheless, rummages went ahead as planned...:rotfl:

I hope you had a lovely holiday, ToniLiz, good to hear the rummaging still went on! ;) It's ok to save the Euros, but why not keep them separate to save for next time you go?

Wonderful news about setting the date for your wedding, dinglefoot, all the incentive you need now!

Great news about the vouchers, jakes-mum!

    Since last posting I've added
    £10.35 to the Xmas pot
    £10 to car insurance
And started a pot -£1 for each hour of exercise I've done - I'm including gym, swimming, walking and gardening as the garden is like a jungle and needing lots of work :0 - so far this month I've put £19.50 in:j- surely this has got to mean some weight loss soon !!!

No doubt about it, Donna, very well done you!! :j They reckon you need to walk 10,000 paces a day to lose weight, so there you go. How about a cheapy pedometer to help you.

Keep going in the way you have been, Lynsey, and you'll get there.

Well done, ETO, though your little treasure will need to learn to share when he's older - or he'll always expect the lot and we can't have that, but he'll get great fun and learn from "...one in Mummy's pot and one in yours". :A

Behave yourself jokes with those women, sparky, you just know it isn't true, ask J, she'll tell you. ;) Good luck with the nasties, they may have even been turned nice in the sun. :rotfl:

Untouchable, by all means bank the money from your note tin, best to be safe....

Carol, it'll save you a fortune to have a holiday in early July, all the best saving. It's so very wrong that firms are allowed to rip parents off like that and should be stopped!!

    £4.20 for the UU's pot.

Have a lovely Bank Holiday, folks, enjoy the weather if it's good!

Good news for DS today, he did his final 2 dives in the lake and is now a fully qualified junior padi diver and is off with his grandad to Lanzarote next year on a diving holiday  wheres my invite i'd like to know! OK I cant dive and have no interest at all in swimming in the sea with a big ol tank on me back but I have no problem with sitting by the pool each day while they do it

So very proud of him as he has tried to do these dives for his test for the last 12 months and after about 8 failed attempts had developed such a huge fear of going down to the 8 mtr platform (in the freezing cold lake!) we really thought he'd never finish it, but today was the last 2 of the 4 dives he had to do (did the other 2 last week) and he's all finished :j :j AND he never has to get in that blasted lake again :D

OK I might have done a teeny tiny bit of bribing to keep him focused . . . £2 per passed dive, upped to £10 if he did all 4 and got his licence (which daddy said he would match ;)) but worth it I thought :D
