Back from a great hols in Wales. Weather was mixed and I even look like I have a bit of a tan, or rust not quite sure lol.
Potted £1.43 today.
Need to do some serious potting from now on as C*****mas is fast approaching. Sorry to swear on here as it is still August.:eek::eek::eek:
Have a great bank hols everyone and hope the weather is kind. Off out for the day with another 3 families. Not sure where yet just waiting for the majority vote. Either Bolsover Castle which apparently has an event on or somewhere local. OH will not be with us as he is on nights.:(

Holy Moly.
I've never really ventured into this section of the forum before but i'm shocked by the 3000 people who have already signed up for the challenge!
My backstory
Last week i opened my £2 coin tin and it had a grand total of £490! I put £250 towards my mortgage and £240 towards my holiday plans!
So yesterday i had to go in search of a new £2 coin tin! I wanted the type that you open with a tin opener once it's full to the top! I didn't realise what a challenge this would be though. Off to Home Bargains i went and all they had was some plastic children's piggy banks but too small for what i was looking for. Poundworld had nothing so i went into Poundland.
Well i struck lucky (sort of). They only had 2 designs, so i'm now a proud owner of a tin with a fluffy chihuahua with a crown on it on a pink background!
So i now have 8 £2 coins in it to start me off and i've just sealed with cellotape my coca cola money tin for my silver and coppers too! Checked how much i had already in there and it was over £15! It certainly does build up!!!
Let the saving commence!!!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000

No worrying, bargainlover, there's still time to at least save as hard as you possibly can, if possible then put a set amount in on a specific day each week to make sure you have something to look forward too. Do what you can, and...be happy and proud!
Congratulations young Jake!! :T You've done yourself proud, have a wonderful time with Granddad and never give up doing your best!!£1.02 for my pot today. Heading off for another lot of chemo on Tuesday so that will mean a week of NSD whilst I recover. Catch up with you all soon, and hope you are enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend.
All best wishes for tomorrow onwards, Nell, be sure to rest and reserve that strength. We'll be with you in spirit wishing you well.EverTheOptimist wrote: »Another £2 coin in baby ETO's pot and £2.15 in mine.

Welcome Southernman!
I guess that's where all the £2 coins have been!
I haven't found any road kill in agesHowever, I am about to sneak a £5 from my OH's wallet into the pot
What's his is mine and all that
(Plus I paid for his English breakfast when we went out this morning and it was technically my change!)

Thank you so much everyone for the lovely warm welcome!!!
You all certainly are a friendly bunch!
So there's already been a bit of a disaster this fine bank holiday monday. I went out to Manchester to pick up exciting items such as bread, tin foil...the usual yawn stuff.
(i also went for a 3 course meal at my favourite Chinese for £5!)
Anyway an hour after leaving the Chinese i tried on a dress in a shop to see how it looked only to put my dress i'd been wearing back on...thing is i realised i'd been wearing it BACKWARDS for the last 2 hours!
Drama!! Still, i managed to knock £1.07 in change back into ol' trusty the coca cola tin when i got back!!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000

Afternoon all, hope you are all getting the sun - lovely here today.
jakes-mum - you are obviously very proud and rightly so. Great to hear good news.
Southernman - welcome to the thread and good luck.
Dress on the wrong way?? I bet you didn't know if you were coming or going!!
Talking of £2 coins, I potted 3 today along with a 50p coin.
So £6.50 potted.
£507+ potted so far and 3 months and 2 days to go. lol
I'm looking forward to seeing what the breakdown (coinage) is at the end (28th Nov). I only save £2, £1, 50p and 20p coins and reckon the £1 coins will amount to over half my savings. I only decided to save £1 coins at the last minute and glad I did.
How many bags will I need?? Will the Post Office take all the coins in one go??
Enjoy the rest of the sun and fingers crossed the decent summer continues. Actually better than recent years and more please.
Hope all are well.

Didn't do much potting last week - mainly because I didn't spend much money so that's kind of good news
Ended up with just over £1 in change and a £1 coin which were potted yesterday. Hoping to have another low spending week - not good news for the pot but very good for the budgeting :ASPC Member #112 :A Save £2k in 2014 # 160 :money:0
