Hi, if you mean the money saving ones beneath your name, I think you get more when your number of posts reaches a certain level but special stars from our lovely sue are awarded for being especially helpful to others
I've just popped my head in to say just a few pence potted this week 'cos it's a lean month again. Never mind it will soon be counting up time!! Oh, and I have a bid on an EB*y item :T

Might seem a daft question...but... where do you all get these coins from day in day out? I do tend to carry cash in my purse but keep it for anything I might need that I wasn't prepared for, such as milk bread etc, poppy appeal blah blah blah.
Don't want to pot all my change cos it leaves me with none for 'just in case'. Just wondering if people have any specific processes/rules?
Thats not a daft questionYou will find alot of us are potting more than we normally do as its so close to opening day
most of us dont pot like this throughout the year . . . though we all wish we could!
I have a rule that every £2 coin that comes into the house must be potted in the specially named £2 coin jar and anything under 20p goes in the big tub (unless im flush with change then some 50ps will go in) I also put any money I make from selling stuff on fleabay or faceb0ok in the tub as I see that as money I never had anyway. I also have a monthly food budget and anything left from it on the last day of the month goes in the tub, I find this helps me be more strict when it comes to the reduced section and buying cake/choccies we dont need, less I buy the more I can pot
Then theres roadkill (coins found in the street) and alot of posters will pot money they would have wasted i.e. they give up their daily coffee and pot the £2.50 or say no to the choccie bar at the supermarket till and pot the 60p. Its amazing how much you can save from giving something up you dont need.
80p in the pot today, am very happy as ive still got £104 odd of my monthly food money and we are already half way through the month :T must not buy reduced stuff, must not buy reduced stuff :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

Thanks Little-sweetie, I get it now
25p potted. Would love to pot more but we seem to be very stretched at the moment.
The nice guy at the coal merchants said that instead of dude going to collect our coal from him he could deliver AND we would get it £2 cheaper! Only problem is .... We dont have a coal bunker(vegetarian & vegan family: me, DH, DS11 & DS 7, 3 dogs and 3 cats (not veggie )

Morning all.
Potted another 2 x £2 coins = £4.
Bought a very large pizza from Sainsbury's food counter reduced to 99p (reduced from £3.49). £5 in s/scan till and 2 x £2 coins out. lol
I'm starting to bag up today and getting ready to bank up. I NEED to see how many odd coins I need to round up the bags. lol
The 50p bags and the 20p bags will be the hardest to add up "perfectly", but the £1 and £2 bgs should be ok.
Next weekend is the last savings weekend of the "potting year", then it all starts again from the 29th.
Get those last few coins in those pots and enjoy your "work".
Have a great weekend.

What a great challenge.
Is it possible for me to join and get a number ready for the next years challenge. I will start now but I know that there isn't long left until this thread finishes so I will carry it over to 2014.
Thank you0 -

Welcome Iheart  of course you can join us, we love new members here
Our intrepid leader Sue-UU will forge her way onto the thread at some point in the near future and give you your very own one of a kind, not to be swapped, sold or lost, SPC number. She will ask you to pop it on your signature (go to the green bar at the top of the page, click quick links, then edit signature) and to read the very first post which contains all the info about our challenge and how we work
Sparky is the keeper of the spreadsheet and it makes his life much easier that, should you need to remove money from your pot for any reason (some people like to bank as they go along, or you might have an emergency that requires a pot raid) to pop the amount you remove on your signature next to your number so that come count up day it doesnt get forgotten
You may also like to subscribe to the thread as that does make it easier to keep a tab on us and keep up with news, that is on the lower green bar, Click Thread Toolsonce you have subsribed to us you can find the thread under your subscribed threads header under the quick links tab.
Now all you need is a nice pot and to tell us all about yourself as we are a nosey bunch of blighters :rotfl: oh and dont listen to this lot Lucky Charlie and I are not trouble makers at all! :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
