I personally don't set a target (i'm grateful for anything) and usually it is for Christmas or that bit after Christmas when got no money left and its a long time til the next pay day on a rare occasion I did get to use it in the January sales once :)

Next year I may open my pot mid year as I've booked a holiday back to the uk for us (family of 4) and I can't wait :j

    Happy potting :D

It's an individual choice. I set an initial £300 target, then upped it to £500, then £600 and finally £700. It is addictive. lol
I like the challenge of a target as it gives me motivation, but do as you wish as others like the surprise element at the end.

I put another 70p into my holding pot and mostly bagged up now.
    I have in full bags:
    £2 coins = £260
    £1 coins = £320
    50p coins = £50
    20p coins = £50
    Total bagged = £680.00

    Loose coins:
    £2 - 9 coins = £18 (need 1 more coin)
    £1 - 7 coins = £7 (need 13 more coins)
    50p's - 4 coins = £2 (need 16 more coins)
    20p's - 17 coins = £3.40 (need 33 more coins)
    Loose coins = £30.40

Total so far = £710.40 and if I get those needed coins to round off the loose stuff, I should end up with £740.

I'll sort out my holding pot tomorrow, but quite a few £1's in there. 20p's and 50p's will be the hardest and I might have to ask to change the odd £1.

I should get something later as we are out for dinner and need to put the lottery on.

Take care all and go for it.

Not long now, got my bags from the bank, might have to break Patrick open soon as I bought a couple of presents today with my card.

I have a target but it's for my holiday for 2015 so that I will be able to open my 'pot' on 29th Nov 2014 and hopefully pay it up ;)
