This is what I have been asking for quite some time with no response; hence me questioning my faith and starting this thread.

But you obviously are coping, aren't you?

Maybe it is time for you to stop believing, if you are going through a tough enough time that calls for you to pray for strength and your prayers are not answered then on top of whatever else you have going on it will also leave you feeling alone and abandoned by your god and questioning whether everything you do is right or wrong.

Cut god out of the equation and there is a whole load off your mind, you then only need to find the strength to cope with life and not also the worry that your god doesn't love you otherwise she wouldn't leave you feeling the way you do.

If you turn away from god but later on think you made a mistake you can always go back to believing, after all isn't she supposed to forgive everything and I'm regularly told that as soon as I'm ready to repent for not believing I will be welcomed back with open and loving arms.

YOU are the only one in control of your life and by leaving everything to god you are copping out of having to take action for your own happiness

So how do I ask for help to lead a more happy and fulfilled life? I do pray but it hasn't happened.

    ^^^^ This, spot on.

OP, this is how non-believers find happiness. We take control our own lives.
Do you think non-believers cannot be happy?

Who said it was supposed to be easy - most worthwhile things aren't.

We can all pick random bits from any book to make them seem like they have meaning

    The bible

    John 3:16: he gave

Jer 29:11: plans to give you

    Rom 8:28: all things

    Phil 4:13: I can do

Prov 3:5: lean not on your own

Rom 12:2: Do not conform any longer

Phil 4:6: Do not be anxious about anything

    Harry Potter

It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.— Albus Dumbledore

It takes much bravery to stand up to our enemies but we need as much bravery to stand up to our friends.— Albus Dumbledore

There is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it.— Professor Quirrel

Oh, well… I’d just been thinking… if you had died, you’d have been welcome to share my toilet.— Moaning Myrtle

The consequences of our actions are always so complicated, so diverse, that predicting the future is a very difficult business indeed— Albus Dumbledore

Your parents gave their lives to keep you alive, Harry. A poor way to repay them – gambling their sacrifice for a bag of magic tricks.— Remus Lupin

    Other books

Do not just seek happiness for yourself. Seek happiness for all. Through kindness. Through mercy.
    Wide Awake by David Levithan

There is no such thing as equality for some. Equality must be for all. That is what freedom is. That is what liberty is. No human being is born more or less important than any other. How can we allow ourselves to forget that? What simpler truth is there?
    Wide Awake by David Levithan

The term “forgive and forget” doesn’t make sense to me. Forgiving does allow us to stop dwelling on an issue, which isn’t always healthy. But if we forget, we don’t learn from our mistakes.
    Abandon by Meg Cabot

Don’t ever let them tell you that you’re too stupid to do something. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy for you. Maybe you’re going to have to work for it a little harder than other people, which I know isn’t fair. But that doesn’t mean you should just give up.
    Abandon by Meg Cabot

I could go on like this for the rest of my life quoting random bits out of books it doesn't make them real, some of the quotes can make you stop, think and take stock of your life while others are completely nonsensical and the bible is no different. It is a work of fiction just like the others I've quoted.

Its not. That's where Matthew 13 comes in (The parable about the sower).

The OP has obviously got a great deal of faith. I am coming at her question from a Christian view point.
