Jeremiah 29.11
'For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'.
You need to place your trust in him and believe that he knows best, just as you did with your career.
That's been quoted to me a fair bit and I've read it a fair bit during times of doubt; I also say it every morning now but I'm struggling to believe - not to be a Thomas but I need God to step in here.0 -

Many parents do nothing to help their child and just hope it will work out somehow. No different to any other neglectful parent.
The point is, that a child who dies from neglect dies because their parents were neglectful, NOT because they were atheists/Christians/Muslims whatever.
A child who dies from refusal of medical treatment due to the belief that a higher power/the power of prayer will cure them, dies as a direct result of the parents' religious beliefs.
No child of an atheist has ever died from a direct result of that parent being an atheist. Edit: unless murdered by religious fanatics because of being a non-believer.0 -

But God has provided a cure; man via his free will has decided to opt out; God is not to blame.0 -

Honest answer, I don't know bu can only think that God populated the world with other people. That's been quoted to me a fair bit and I've read it a fair bit during times of doubt; I also say it every morning now but I'm struggling to believe - not to be a Thomas but I need God to step in here.
To be honest that verse I personally don't always find helpful when things have been going on for a long time with no clear resolution.:(The point is, that a child who dies from neglect dies because their parents were neglectful, NOT because they were atheists/Christians/Muslims whatever.

My point exactly, children die because parents are neglectful for many different but equally tragic reasons.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Yes *shudder*. I believe it happened again after the flood. That's been quoted to me a fair bit and I've read it a fair bit during times of doubt; I also say it every morning now but I'm struggling to believe - not to be a Thomas but I need God to step in here.

So how do I ask for help to lead a more happy and fulfilled life? I do pray but it hasn't happened.
Instead of asking for help I would suggest seeking it. Perhaps doing something like asking your gp to refer you for counselling, might be a more constructive way forward. Counselling isn't for everyone but many benefit from have an impartial person guide them through their feelings and emotions, and to develop skills and approaches to live their life positively. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -

If you find the things that you have fulfilling, and enjoy your life then you will be happy and fulfilled. It's a question of defining what happy and fulfilled is, not of praying for it to happen.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0
