In scotland, where I live, you are only awarded a BB if you get the highest rate of DLA / PIP.

Totally of topic but I saw 2 women park in a parent & child space with no children, my mum asked where their children were, to which the older one about 60 years old replied with ''She's right here, this is my daughter (about 35 years old). I am her parent, she is my child, the space says parent and child, not parent and BABY''

    I was lost for words.

Parent and child spaces, disabled spaces. If people want them to be used "properly" then someone needs to police them.

At the moment in a private car park anyone can, and does, park in any space they wish.

It's the same in England too. If you receive the high rate of Mobility DLA then you automatically qualify for a BB. It's taken that you cannot walk or "virtually" cannot walk >50m if you have HRM DLA so sensibly they have decided to automatically award a BB to those people who not only receive the enhanced rate of PIP Mobility BUT also the standard rate of PIP Mobility as the Standard Rate of PIP Mobility reflects a similar situation to the current HRM DLA situation.

Of course those who've decided that they'll not get any PIP award doesn't want hardly anyone to get a BB!!!!

You are like the proverbial fisherman. Now you are attempting to say that the standard rate of PIP - Mobility is similar to the HRM of DLA???

Where did you manage to find that gem of information from?

If that was the case, then everyone that is awarded the standard rate of PIP will be able to obtain a vehicle from Motability!

The government don't exactly share your opinion either. If they did, there would be no need for any assessments for those that receive HRM - they would automatically qualify for at least the standard rate - Mobility of PIP!

You don't half make things up as you go along.

I'm the one that is being sensible. I have assessed myself alongside the current PIP mobility descriptors and can't find any that actually apply to me yet I receive HRM of DLA!

Maybe the government will come out with a 'lower standard rate for mobility of PIP - which I could well be awarded for.

All I know is that if I can't qualify, I am extremely doubtful of others that currently get HRM - DLA. Yet no doubt they will argue and catfight to demand what they see as their entitlement with it only ending up in tears.

I accept the inevitable and believe that it has been a long time coming. I'm not upset, personally I don't care one way or another.
Life to me is not one long fight with the DWP - been there done that. Life is for living and enjoying.
If people want to put themselves through endless claims, appeals, assessments and Tribunal hearings good luck to them. I would much rather sit back, read a good book and have peace of mind, not waiting for a brown envelope to drop on my doormat.

Standard rate PIP is for walking unaided or aided up to 50m - same as current Higher rate DLA. Schrodie is correct.

Of course Standard rate pip won't get Motability - that's why the Government have changed the goalposts so they can save money. That's if they do.

Yep, I'm 64, wife is 68. Yep we claim every godamn thing that we are entitled to. Nothing wrong with that - it seems to be the national sport at the moment!

However that doesn't mean to say that I agree with it. I think that the opportunities to have a good income courtesy of benefits is all wrong. I would be the first to accept a large reduction. I don't blame working people having a go at pensioners. Every time cuts to the welfare budget are announced - the pensioners are exempt from them. That's not fair on anybody.

So yes I take what I am entitled to, but would have no objections if they reduced my income along the same lines as other welfare recipients.

Do I agree with pensioners getting 20% of the national budget on pensions alone - no I don't - people should provide for themselves and not expect others to provide for them. Until this government sees sense, I will take what is on offer with a guilty conscience.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Oh Andy, you don't 'arf make me laugh! The quote from your lips "people should provide for themselves and not expect others to provide for them".

Yet you've boasted, through all your AEs, about how you've arranged your finances so that you and Flo will be expecting the taxpayers to provide free care home places for you both, whilst your half a million, or is it a million, nest egg, is carefully protected for your offspring.

A guilty conscience? You? Ha ha ha! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
