...there are some flyladies who have met me in real life and - I hope - will vouch for me being of reasonably sound mind ;)

CY, I too can speak up for bonnie. Not quite sure about the "reasonably sound mind" - but I reckon she's about as sound in mind as I am *runs round hooting like a gorilla* :rotfl:

Thanks flyladies for good wishes for my DH. He is being manfully brave after having undergone an uncomfortable procedure and is therefore getting ice cream for dessert tonight, once it has defrosted a bit (the old fridge-freezer is turning into a freezer-superfreezer). "Taking it easy" tomorrow will not be a problem for him  You think teenagers are hard to motivate???????????

My new kitchen now has worktops and a sink - and the appliances were delivered precisely on time whilst I was in the middle of demolishing the old bathroom with its platform "built to make the bath appear 'sunken' " It's much safer now :D

GWS vibes to Dusty's DS3 and all other poorlies - and I picked up some extra spoons earlier when we stopped for a coffee before the horse piddle visit, so please help yourselves to a handful

Oh Valli! Snowballs! I soooo remember them from my very early pub-going yoof days. That's what ladies drank then! But mine never seemed to be quite as exotic as your Alf's
It'slovely to see you back Soappie; and I hope life's being a bit kinder to you.

Ah Alf - landlord of the Bridge Inn who had, in his younger days, been a properly trained barman. We'd 'copper up' at the end of the week, tell him what we had to spend and ask him to suggest (and make) a cocktail. Just a normal little pub by a railway bridge but fun times...

We 'the younger set' used to have a room in which we sat - they put the first Space invaders in there (it was set into a kind of table IIRC), and we were by the phone, so, once we were well established I would often answer it, and got in search of the patron requested.

I had hysterics one night when someone rang and asked

    Is Vic there? <link

He was, too. Often Pauline would ring, for Frank and we would always have a natter before I went to fetch him!

Anyway - I have now got two inhalers and my own Cetirizine. So pleased I bought that prepayment certificate!:money:

Are you back home with your new cloths - get wiping then!

DS3 is a bit perkier but doesn't want anything to eat
    DH is painting
    DS2 is at work

I have antibacterial spray and shall go forth and try it (don't usually use that sort of stuff) and hope that DS3's bug is not the 00.01% it doesn't work on.

    Hi there

This is the first chance I've had to post today - although I did read through earlier. It's been a busy day; although I'd tidied through last night I needed to mop through the kitchen and conservatory this morning, as a friend was coming for coffee and the cats had trailed in bits of grass/leaves etc! I ended up doing the bins again, the bathroom again and the bedroom - again! Anyway all was ok and we had a good chat - but then I had to dash off to work, where it was really busy.

Came home to loads of phone calls - sick friends - and sadly from my niece, my 'invalid' brother is really poorly again, and has had to go back to hospital. He is so lovely and uncomplaining, I know he can't get better, but I just hope for pain free days for him.

Good wishes all round and hi to any newcomers. Hi to Bonnie for welcoming me home from my hols! If anyone is ever in Gloucestershire, and likes gardens/scenic ruins, go to Sudeley Castle. it is so beautiful - I want to live in a hole in the wall there and just gaze at the gardens!!

Finally, and I'm sorry it's a late message, but good 'coping and travelling' wishes for CY's DD - I do hope the journey was uneventful and as calm as you wished.

Finally (finally!), Pigpen, why is Polly the soap cat? I'm being ever so nosy 'cause I like cats!!!

Phew! The day didn't quite go as planned here. Early start, with new sideboard delivered at 8am (and lovely it is!) - subsequent unpacking, moving of furniture, vacuuming etc and putting of things into sideboard. Old corner unit listed on freegle and collected around 10.30. DH went to collect DD from sleepover and I took cardboard and polystyrene packaging stuff to recycling centre along with a piece of wood and 4 binliners of assorted rubbish (we're away for the bin collection next week and 3 weeks of rubbish just doesn't fit in our wheelie bin). I also took 5 binliners of clothes to cashforclothes (by recycling centre and got the grand sum of £16.20:D

Came home, fed DS2 & 3, had an argument with DH (by then sat on his bum doing sweet fa whilst I was running around doing washing, hanging it out etc) Took the 2 smallies on play date to local playpark with lots of school friends at 1pm - left there at 4, dropped DS2 at home and took DS3 straight out to a 2 year old's party - was helping clear up afterwards when preganant friend (with troublesome pregnancy) had a car crash literally outside so all plans then changed. Hopefully she's ok, but haven't had an update yet - she went off to hospital to get checked over. I got home just before 8, got washing in, put more washing out, put more washing on, unloaded and reloaded dishwasher, ironed all of today's dry washing, wiped down kitchen table and chairs and kitchen sides and am now sat down. DH has gone to bed..... Needless to say, lists haven't been touched much :(

Can second that Sudeley Castle is lovely! But, then again, I'm biased, being a Glos girly! :D:D

Lovely stuff Valli - though space invaders was later for me! but, the pub ethos seems to have been the same - you had your reg'lar which you went to and where everyone knew your name....

    ~sigh~ the Good Old Days!

As to Life, it has been a tad less challenging since I gave it one of my looks and swore loudly at the full moon simply because it was there... But it's still misbehaving.... I just wish it would settle down so I knew what was what so I could accommodate..!

Running away to Derbyshire is still one of my options...

Evening - been to see Monsters University (good, but not as funny as the first one!) and am now sorting a pile of magazines and filing some stuff.
I know neither of you know me but there are some flyladies who have met me in real life and - I hope - will vouch for me being of reasonably sound mind ;)

Errrm, now, let me think .............. sound mind I won't comment on :p but bonnie is lovely and helpful :D

Off to file some more .......... oh, and ratties appear to want food!
