Hope Ollie, Natty and family all slept well :T

Lovely sunshine here today after pouring rain all of yesterday :) The dust sheet that I washed and hung out on Sunday morning has been re-spun and hung out again before I start on today's 3 loads.

I have an almost complete run of kitchen unit carcases :D We have chosen worktop, sink and tap, and the appliances are being delivered early this afternoon by very efficient @ppli@nce5online :T Maybe I shall be able to bake a cake this week, in honour of the planned visit by my DS2, DDiL2 and DGD3 on Saturday...

Meanwhile, this morning's big job for me and DH is to blitz the bathroom, i.e. remove the remains of the shower cubicle which was built of Contipl@s and Formic@ - I kid you not  - and the platform surrounding it (old door frames, skirting boards and chipboard panels), as well as the remains of the tiles and plaster. We'll probably need to do 2 trips to the tip to leave everything clear for the plasterer to come back on Friday

DH has to go to the horse piddle this afternoon for tests and is under orders to "rest quietly at home" for 2 days afterwards, so I shall potter on this week with whatever I can between making regular cups of tea for him and the workmen.

I have finally eaten a giant frog. I have been trying for 6 weeks to complete a form for HMRC Charities. Yesterday in desperation I rang their helpline and got it sorted within 2 minutes by their lovely helpful lady :A Spurred on by that success, I also got rid of a couple of tadpoles in quick succession by phoning my pension providers :j Think I've now informed everyone of our change of address except one bank which requires me to take in proof, necessitating a trip to town.

Hope everyone has a good day. Join me for :coffee: later, and help yourself to spoons and extra sweeteners if needed.

Glad to hear he's home Natty - the cat next door disappeared a few years ago for a couple of weeks, but turned up at home a bit thinner and a bit scared, but OK. She hasn't learned her lesson, though, because if I leave the garage door open she'll still go in to investigate.

Dentist for me this morning and then helping DD1 finish packing for her trip. Although she's 22 this is her first trip away without me since she developed ME, so if anyone can spare some calming vibes from say this morning until about 3pm tomorrow ( she should be at the youth hostel by then) I would much appreciate it!

Vanilla - write from the heart -say how much this person has helped you! hope it goes OK.

CY... I am so pleased DD has the strength to go on this trip.. I've had a really crap night and I feel like pap and seeing she is doing this has actually made me smile.. No mean feat today believe me!!! I hope she has a wonderful time and this is the first of many trips and big steps into the world for her xxx hugs for you though .. If must have been impossible to cut those apron strings while she was so reliant on you and even harder now because of it but she will be fine and no doubt she has lovely people going with her. Enjoy your time apart it will make the time when. She gets home more special. how long is she away for?

Suppose I need to get out of bed then .. The 2 naughties just started making noise and my bins are being emptied right now for me to refill!!!

This is my first week flying properly ever!! Completely cleaned the bathroom yesterday (including the manky cupboard under the sink!!) I don't have a study yay! I am currently in the process of deep cleaning the kitchen, so it will probably take me longer than just today to complete as I am working until 4pm and going to the gym this evening. To clean, I still have:

The little cupboard above the cooker
    3 drawers
The corner cupboard with all the pots/pans/casserole dishes etc argh!!
    The oven and hob
Wipe clean all applicances and underneath where appliances sit

I will probably still be at it this time next week ahhhh!!

Well... I'm out of my pit.. today the children are being kicked and are tidying their rooms somewhat.. and I shall stand over them and bark orders.. we WILL have a presentable house by the weekend..

I have lots of stuff the boys ARE taking to CS today.. that will clear a chunk of landing and the back room.
DD2 can command DDs 3 and 4 to sort their sty.
OH gets the garden and kitchen and the boot of the car needs sorting.

Best get the 2 tiddlies dressed seeing as they are running about nakey nakey again!!! Then the girls can be flung in the garden for a bit
