What does dress your age really mean????

Try not to look like lamb when you look like mutton.
Pretty simple really.0 -
I think I definitely dress differently now to when I was younger- I'm the smallest clothes size now I've ever been and now I wear skinny jeans (I mean really skinny
) for going out and the rest of the time I'm in one of my vast tracksuit collection, my favourites being my Lipsy velour joggers in varying shades of pink
I do like cardies though- I've just bought a gorgeous grey belted swing cardie from Lipsy. I realise I'm probably way too old to shop in Lipsy but I don't care, I've waited a long time to shop there and shop there I will!!I'm not quite brave enough for their little dresses though. I love the tracksuits, handbags and I've got a couple of going out tops from there, just jersey sleeveless tops with a pattern. And their vest tops are fab for holding me in
I'm not ready for a beige cardie yet!! (I'm 32, and even my mum who is 62 is very stylish. I covet a lot of her clothes
)

I used to wear that kind of outfit alot when I was in my late teens/early 20's. I gradually started to tone down the slightly more 'out there' clothing when we stopped going to Rock Night, mainly reserving those outfits for when we went to gigs.
Now I'm in my 30's, I've put on a little bit of weight, but am still quite slim, and as I look younger than my years, I could still get away with wearing those kind of clothes, and sometimes I do, but for the main, I don't, but then again, I wouldn't really say I dress my age either. I still love my band tshirts, leggings and checked shirts, and still wear my denim shorts and fishnet tights to a gig or night out. I would say my legs are my best feature, and as long as I can get away with wearing what I do, then I will!
I guess I still dress like I'm at Art College! :rotfl:0 -
I think you have to accept that as you age body parts are less desirable to put on show.
I have honed and tweaked my style over the years but generally it is classic with a twist. I am a size 10, so bigger now than I have ever been but still wear skirts on the knee, always heels and tailored trousers.
Tutus, leggings or flats have never been my thing so I don't intend to start wearing them now.
As for beige cardis.....taupe can be a chic option and cashmere cardis over a knee length shift dress can be quite elegant. As with anything it is about how you wear it and how you accessorise it.
Style is innate, and can be pared down chic or all out quirky, according to your personality. If you have found your style it should also feel comfortable and if it suits you who is anyone else to judge unless you really are the epitome of "mutton dressed as lamb"0 -

all depends my late sister in law always went out with make up plastered on to theatre thickness, and new look fashions with henna red hair - we only found out her age when she passed away at 74 a couple years ago.
It was not a look that worked with her well earned aged face. where as my mother who is the same age is and was always a what I would call a classic dresser though I am not sure about her killer heals at her age, more a case of worrying about her falling. But mother has always defied her years and could pass for 10 years younger.
Where as me I am told by my sister will be in twin set and pearls with a blue rinse long before mother...........not quite as have found my inner hippy and love maxi dressesI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0 -

I thought it was a T shirt with "ribs" that gave a corset or nipped in waist effect.0 -

I love my Birkenstocks! I've been wearing them virtually non stop during this warm weather!0 -

It isn't intended in a mean way.
You should dress to flatter yourself not to try and pretend you are something you no longer are.0
