Our tree is not themed. It is 'multi'. We have decorations going back 30 years. A real mixture some lovely delicate glass, silver or china received as gifts or bought as souvenirs, some cheap wooden ones. We have a really cheap and nasty plastic father christmas that is as old as I am and was always on our tree when I was a child.
If I was starting all over again...I would not change a thing. It is full of memories and we really enjoy decorating the tree. OH and DD always go outtogether to buy it ...a couple of years ago bringing a ceiling high tree home in my open top MG.
Do not have many other decorations really, stockings to hang up and I usually make bows out of wired ribbon to tie on wall lamps and a 'choir' of wind up Christmas novelty toys that dance and play tinny happy tunes that a former bf of dd bought for her.
I love wooden ones! And china ones! I love those.0 -
Apparently Olympic Diver Tom Daley is in a relationship and this requires an announcement on the BBC News website - which century are we living in
I agree, the only thing that I found undesirable was that there was going to be a second series of "Splash".
The militant gay press found it offensive that he added to his coming out that he still found girls attractive.
Most amusing joke I have seen on twitter was "I opened the second box of my advent calendar and out came Tom Daley"I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Annoyed. DS2 phones from a pharmacy near uni and he can't get his prescription because NatWest cards are not working.
His back up account has no money in it and I can't transfer to it because Natwest online banking is also down.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Ou r tree is usually gold with some hints of colour. In the kitchen we have some re lights and nutcrackers.
What do other nice people have for decoration? And is it what they would want if they were choosing now? What's the favorite colour / theme of nps' christmas trees?
Nothing.
We used to have lots of lights outside and in, lots of decorations and a huge tree when I was still married and had signed up to all the 'who can have the best lights in the street' thing.
Ex hubby still does the 'who can have the best/most lights in the street' thing. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

PM me his account details and I will sub you 8 quid till it is back online - sometimes having a dozen accounts with almost every bank comes in handy . People in Morrisons this evening were getting very embarrassed.I think....0 -

There were four of us, so I decided to hire a guide and a car.Absolute brilliant Guy, and we got to see all we wanted, including a great deal many visitors would not be allowed to see. I emailed him some photo's when I got home. Today I've received this email.
So what do I do? Cable him a hundred quid, and wish him well? Poor bloke, he must be really desperate.
And before anyone mentions it, this is not a scam.
If I were confident it was not a scam I would give without hesitation.
Send a small sum to see if it makes it way to him and then take it from there.0 -

That is really kind.
He has given up for the night - I think the pharmacy has shut. I'm sure he can borrow from his housemates or friends by morning. Hopefully NatWest will be up and running by then.
I've just managed to get on online, whether the transfer to Metro has gone through I don't know.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Send a small sum to see if it makes it way to him and then take it from there.
If it is a scam, you will get the reply, "thanks please send more". If it is genuine you will get the reply, "thanks if you could possibly manage to send more I would be grateful".I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
