    Me too.

DD has announced her word count as 7501. 15000 needed...by 12th Sept.

I am saying nothing. Absolutely no "nagging", "coaxing" or superficial encouragement. I am still trying to get over MissK aspiring to "shine the t*rd" an expression I had never heard before. Nikkster and MissK I have learnt so much from you that is helping me to be a better mum.

In East this morning I bought two new dresses http://www.east.co.uk/crepe-dress-red/ in red and in black for me, and from their sale (MSE) bought DD a pair of sandals and colourful straw bag which she seems pleased with.

You'll be pleased to learn that there is an optional extra to the phrase:

'You can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter'

I guess the main thing I would say is that even though for the past 4 years or so it has looked like I'm not bothered about writing a thesis, it's been on my mind the whole time. So I've not particularly needed reminding. I've just not been able to physically do any writing. Which as frustrating as it has been for everyone who knows me, has not been enjoyable from my point of view either.

Lovely dress - think they will look great, esp the red one.

I had a bit of an accident with my credit card this morning and bought one of these: http://www.zatchels.com/bags/green-pastel-polka-dots.html
At least it was half price. And I really do need a new bag (am currently working my way through all of my old slightly broken bags).

Up the other end of the bathroom. The day glow nectarine is going to be inside cabinets, so less loud than appears now. Just enough for a wake up shout when one reaches for a tooth brush.

Nothing is plumbed in, we just put the loo and sink in today to see how it feels. We have to decide the tap height for the sink and we're not sure, hence putting the sink together...still not sure though.

Oh wow - looks good already.

I really like the idea of painted walls at the backs of the cupboards.

A while back you posted some pics of painted shelves inside kitchen cupboards. Hopefully I'll be giving that a go sometime in the not too distant future :)

The good thing is, with a bit of patience you can change you mind and mood in an afternoon with a pot of paint.

Tbh, I'm disappointed with that colour. Is a b and q own colour, bought today for expedience. We had an old pot of a slightly better more carribbean colour with a pinkier tone and a little lighter, but its got lost in a clean up while I have been out of action and others have been helping by moving stuff....but now I don't know where the paint I was going to use that would have cost nothing is! This was cheap and I shopped thinking of pn saying anything other than plain white was mad enough and spending more than the cheapest for something I was meant to be doing for free was nuts. This was the best I could do. I also have some darkish pink with I might stencil on when the shelves are in, because I think it will improve the over all colour hit.

Not sure yet whether I will be painting the panelling the darker or the lighter grey. I want to go the darker wall colour) but it might be better to go the paler ceiling colour. I'll probably err to the dark side if I cannot make my mind up. But we'll see when its in.

Come up with a list of bizarre things to do in a bathroom sink - and see if the tap's in the way.

e.g. washing your hair in the sink; washing/wiping the loo bleach bottle; putting something in soak (small towel, a shirt); sticking your feet in to wash them.

And then try brushing your teeth too ..... to see if you bang your head on the tap.

Taps can be in the most awkward of places....

Thing is I won't need to wash my hair in the sink.....the bath has a shower hose on the tap. Similarly, anything that cannot be feasibly soaked/ rinsed in the sink could be done in either if those. I think. brushing teeth, strip washing, no shaving are vital to be done comfortably though. I don't shave, so not sure of special requirements for that. :T. From what I see of the state of the bathroom after wards it involves something like visiting sea world where the whales leap and splash about.

Its obviously a funny tap too, the water comes out of one side more than the other.

Looking great lir :) Love the bright colour.

Ended up having a relaxing day and gave up on shining the t.urd in the end. Made bread and perfected a recipe that reminded me of home and had my eyebrows threaded but that was the extent of my day. Feels very weird but nice to not have to do something :)

    (see, I can relax).
