DD had some homework on apostophes before half term. I had to help her a bit. The teacher has marked errors for not putting an apostophe in 'its'. Am I wrong here?
We put:
My brother's favourite animal was the monkey. Its tail was long and fluffy. I like the lion best. Its claws were sharp and it's really scary!
(We'll discount the mixing of tenses in one sentence)
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Let's face it - for some reason, where I live, ex council houses on bad estates are out of my budget...... I might have to move areas entirely.0

Issues: too small, too dark, hate the trees, no garage, garden all in shade all the time.
£4600 per square metre!
Forgive me, PN, but within a 3 mile circle of that property, and for a price band +10%/-10% of that property, with at least 2 bedrooms, Rightmove reports over 100 houses. Surely, they can't all be NBG?
I agree that £460/sq ft is a lot for that area. And a 1-bedder is not a great idea, anyway. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I was awarded a studentship for the second one (3 or 4 of us on the course had our fees paid by some kind of bursary from the Uni, not sure what they chose on, think it was based on our applications and interviews for the course). I also worked part time providing pastoral support in a hall of residence. I'd been working the year before too (had a year in between first and second degrees).
Science PhDs tend to come with stipends (like a salary but tax-free, so they cost less money to fund) and my fees were paid through the sponsorship.0 -

For features/space/layout it's fine..... just a bit out of budget.
I've always fancied a bungalow over a double garage.
How much longer will you be working for?
Maybe you should look for something to let out whilst you are working and can retire to later? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I don't eat red meat or burgers. Aside from the veggies (wheezy? Zag?) am I alone in that?
I usually eat HM burgers. Although have had some pork and apple burgers this year from the farm shop and they were good.
We eat quite a lot of red meat:(, although we are having fish tonight. I was tired and bought an M&S smoked haddock dish for me (it says it is a main for two), and OH has cod. DD is out.0 -
I shouldn't say this, as it's the NP thread, but probably you ought to take the plunge and buy somewhere. Your benchmark lowest-risk strategy is to own a place to live, and at the moment you are shorting property compared to your benchmark. That's quite a brave thing to do! Interest rates are low and property prices are rising, at least in the very short term, which is as long as my extremely cloudy crystal ball can see. So, you may be better off making a purchase that isn't 100% perfect than leaving things much longer.
You said it so well . Full of concern and NP sincerity.0 -

As of this week, I'm back doing the 5:2 diet - today is a fast day so it was a mixture of veg for tea.0
