Our trampoline is the most expensive sun lounger we have ever bought.
I really need to get a cover for it as the springs are starting to look rusty, but I'm loath to spend more money on it. Would really like to get rid but the kids claim it is useful for sunbathing and eating take away food.
I think I already said, it cost £70 to replace the pad and safety net for ours this year, a new one would have only been 95 quid but somehow throwing away and replacing for want of a bit of plastic enclosed foam and nylon netting seemed just too environmentally unsound even if it made sense financially...I think....0 -
Did anyone see the Sarah Brent programme tonight about the man who built the boat? Inspirational. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? You mean Sarah Beeny? Yes, the boat was amazing, for an astonishingly low amount of money - although also a staggering amount of hard work.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
No. OH put some rubbish called masters of sex on so I played online chess all evening instead.0

I'd love to go (the word free leapt from the screen) but work's too hectic just when this is happening.
Please accept my apologies.

For the pressy, how about an 'experience' day? I don't know what he likes but you could strap him to a hand-glider bloke and he could jump off a mountain or drive a Ferrari around Brands?
Maybe something he wouldn't consider booking for himself but a memorable adrenaline experience.0 -
We don't have an ice maker either, I did however go on a traipse around fridge freezers a few months back comparing the ice makers and dreaming about when we could get one...so it will def be on the agenda at some point in the future.
When I was pregnant, I loved eating ice chips, it was one of my bigs cravings...along with raw carrots and bananas.
Feeling very wheezy tonight, in fact already had an asthma attack because I decided tonight was the night to have a clear out of our old clothes and dust is one of big triggers. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

How's he feeling about going back to work? Is he OK?We weren't allowed to know when I had my boys, so the bump was just bump for all 3.
I did find out with middle son though, had to have a late scan as he was messing about with his position and when they put the scanner on, there was a lovely picture of boy bits spread across the screen....the midwife and scanner tried to convince me I hadn't seen what I had seen (as they could have got into trouble) but there was no mistaking it!
I think that still depends slightly on the area - at UCH, they do tell you, if you want to know. When my brother was born, in 1986, they didn't because they still weren't very accurate about it....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
True, I know my step niece who lives in Scotland was not allowed to know and she had a baby earlier this year.
The accuracy was the reason we were given in 1993,1996 and 1998, the hospital said too many had sued various hospitals for getting it wrong. They do tell you now if you want to know though, not sure when they started telling people, they certainly did 6 years ago when my sister was expecting her third but not 9 years ago when my brother had his second. We made it!
